Best garden centre I have been to for years.. Lots of nice quality bits and bobs. Unique stuff too!

I've been a visitor to Gordale for a great many years, and whilst my interest in gardening has increased in that time, my visits have become less frequent. Reflecting on this, I think the company has gradually lost sight of its core values in an attempt at diversification. Whilst this is laudable in some regards I feel that the pursuit of increased profits doesn't always translate into an enhanced customer experience. On my most recent visit the Gordale Halloween attraction, in spite of a very alluring witch, really demonstrated a lack of imagination, investment and effort, particularly in comparison to their immediate competitors. I suppose at the end of the day you get what you pay for, but perhaps you get more of it elsewhere!

Came for the old çarş show, the garden centre is amazing but amazingly very expensive.

There is something for everyone with deep pockets here. A nice shopping experience if you are prepared to pay more than you should for their wares The highlight of our visit was seeing the geese and goslings in the grounds, along with squirrels and mallards. Plenty of parking and an in house cafe for a range of light bites etc.

Fantastic array of garden plants, and a massive stock of Joules clothes, amongst many others. There's also lots of beautiful gift ideas too. All of their plants are so healthy and vibrant, and the staff are helpful with everything from plant care to helping people move things.

Lots of plants and unusual items for the house and garden, that you may not find anywhere else. Gordales Christmas displays and range are excellent and very popular. Items seem to have a premium cost compared to other garden centres and plant suppliers. There's also a nice cafe, but again, it's quite expensive.

Lovely garden centre. Staff are very helpful, especially Karen who was working near to the outdoor plant. She could tell I had no idea what I was doing and she stepped in to help me. Also the trolley guys after putting my purchase in the car. Thank you 🙏🏼

This is a gorgeous garden centre, with loads of products on offer at some pretty competitive prices - But what really makes this place special is the in-house café. The ladies working the day I went in were absolutely amazing, they were super friendly and professional and seemed excited to be there. The café itself was spotless, tables were clean, the floor was sparkling and the displays were neat and organized tidily. If you get a chance, try their Oreo Cheesecake - it is honestly the nicest cheesecake I have ever had the pleasure of trying. It tasted fresh, homemade and creamy without being sickly sweet. They had a great selection of teas on offer and the peppermint tea was a very nice variety. There's a fairly expansive playground area outside and would be fab for those with kids who wanted to come and have a mooch around. I could have browsed in the garden centre all day, but alas we only had an hour or so. I will definitely be coming back again. Keep up the good work team!

We went for the pumpkin trail at Halloween, very well thought out, 6 year old loved it, but children of all ages seemed to be enjoying themselves. £4 for trail and you recieve a pumpkin(pick your own) on completetion of the challenge. Hope they do it next year, well worth it.

Excellent garden centre and more. Great range of garden plants and household items. They were in the process of preparing the Christmas displays. Lovely self service cafe, only downside, cakes being uncovered and open to being manhandled. Reasonable priced for food items.

Large garden centre with a huge variety of plants, decorative things, general garden furniture and tools. Large outdoor sandpit for the kids and a good sized cafe which does meals. The petrol station was also the cheapest in the area by far.

I telephoned to ask if you had any yellow roses, the very helpful gentleman advised me that you had just had a delivery. We arrived and we to the roses section, there were so many, with lovely occasion cards, none that said just Happy Birthday. We looked around for a member of staff to ask their advise, there was nobody in sight. We just picked up a generic patio rose. We just hope it was the right choice.

We wanted a few last minute gifts and a look at the Lemax train set display. It was a bit disappointing this year with the shelves quite empty and the big display pushed to the back. I did get some nice diffuser oils though - they have a great selection of various scented items. You can never have too many rose gold candles either

Incredible place with planty activities for kids of all ages throughout the whole year. Sandpit and Easter, Halloween hunts are my kids favourite.

There are loads of positives about Gordale. The fuel is the cheapest around (bar Costco, but it is still close). The staff are just fabulous and so helpful. The goods on offer are quality and will help to lift your home and/or garden. Yes, there are expensive items here, but they are competitive and will often offer free delivery. The cafe is very nice too, although I do think the layout could do with a reconsider. Overall, I love it!!!

I called into Gordale after a long and wet walk around Thursaston. We were looking for eats and a coffee. The lady on the welcome desk was friendly and helpful, pointing us in the direction of the cafe. The homemade scones near the entrance to the cafe looked good. And I am delighted to report that the scones were delicious. They tasted v fresh and were obviously made with good quality ingredients. While a scone is not a headline item, making basics like this taste excellent is a skill and I appreciate the kitchen care and effort this takes. Thank you for a very pleasant visit and a great taste experience.

Established in 1948, Gordale is one of the oldest garden centres in Britain. Gordale is Wirral's award-winning garden centre, showcasing an extensive range of products both for your garden and home. A great place to find beautiful gifts and homeware, seasonal clothing, fashionable garden furniture and Weber BBQs, and of course indoor and outdoor plants. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. There's a large car park and even a fuel station too

This is a great place to visit whether to browse or buy. Play area for toddlers and lovely cafe with plenty of choice. It's very disabled friendly with plenty of wide aisles and ramps although the small area upstairs is not accessible for those with mobility issues. The staff are very knowledgeable about all plants and if they don't know, are happy to find someone who does. Definitely worth a visit

Fuel prices very competitive. Only a short wait of 2-3 minutes to get to a pump. Garden Centre is lovely....lots to see, child friendly. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good quality garden centre, only just missed out on 5 stars because it is pricey. Plants always look healthy and they keep it very clean and tidy. Look out for the giant sand pit for the young ones. They have specialist areas which are well set out, roses, ground plants, shrubs, bushes etc, even have a Bonsai area. Restaurant is good too.

Everything you need and everything you didn't know you needed. Lot's of parking, easy to access all regions of the store, disabled access with wheelchair use available. As well as plants, we bought an egg whisk for the kitchen. The cafe is most welcome as you'll be there for a couple of hours. I'd strongly recommend a cream tea... proper Cornish clotted cream and Wilkins Tiptree jam.

Lovely garden centre, plants are good quality but you pay premium prices for them. Gift shop is really nice and at all prices. The cafe is nice but pricey. Good place for an afternoon out.

Such a lovely garden centre! Family owned, staff are amazing & so helpful. A great assortment of gifts, house plants, garden furniture & plants. The coffee shop is fab- sandwiches, pasties, cakes & scones. A great day out, I have many fond memories of visiting Gordale!

Needed a soil PH testing kit, couldn't see for looking. Asked a member of staff and he was very helpful and took me straight to it. Good range of products. Not overly impressed with the restaurant though. Didn't seem to have much choice. Overall good experience though 👍

Medium sized garden centre, probably one of the neatest cleanest ones I've ever been too, everything on display was so organized and tidy, well done. House plant area was really good , lots of variety. Helpful staff we bought a wrought iron arch and they brought it out to the car and put it in for us , couldn't have asked for more. Didn't go to the coffee shop so can't comment on that.

Varied selection of gardening and household bits, plus toys - and the Christmas display is great, particularly the singing penguins!

Super Xmas display. Some unusual present ideas. Had a great couple of hours. Was very popular at lunchtime in cafe.

  • 5/5 Sandra H. 2 years ago on Google
Popped in to look for a specific gift which although there was a good choice of similar items we didn't find the one for us. There's a huge Christmas section full of a good variety of decorations. We didn't look at the plants but we did have some delicious vegetable soup in the cafe.
