What once might have been good has been left to fade away. Poor state of the lanes shows real neglect for the place. Also found pricing to vary wildly between online booking and in building booking. £29 for 2 adults and 1 child online but £42 when on site with no explanation. Definitely worth trying elsewhere if possible.

A great selection of games for reasonable prices. Staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help when a machine ran out of tickets. Rounds of bowling were incredibly affordable and in such a nice relaxing setting is a great evening out! On a slightly disappointing note the prices for drinks were rather expensive however this didn’t affect the overall experience at all. Overall - well worth a visit, even just for the arcade. Heaps of fun to be had!

This place is EXACTLY the same as it was in 1994. Its a wonderful timewarp back to being 16. Yes the lanes sometimes crash and stop working, and the carpet is kinda sticky, and the building seems to now be in an apocalyptic wasteland, or a warzone, or something out of Stranger Things, but the people that work there are really lovely, and its genuinely a fun place to go. I took my son and his mates for his 13th, expecting them to be too modern and jaded and bored, but they absolutely loved it, the bowling, the arcade, playing pool, eating chips, jugs of coke. They just opened a new branch near me, which im thinking is going to be very new and swishy but will it be as good as Edge Lane? People that bar is set HIGH!

I just want to say a massive thank you to the superb staff at Hollywood Bowl Liverpool for a fantastic party for our daughter's 9th birthday this afternoon. We called in a few weeks earlier and booked the party at Reception. A big shout out to Selma, as even though there was a queue of people behind us, she was highly professional, answered all our questions and was so friendly and courteous. My husband called in shortly before the party and left a cake, balloons and some decorations. When we arrived, the party area was decorated just how we wanted it and our party host Becca was amazing with the kids, kept everything on time and went above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. One of my daughter's friends has Down's Syndrome and Selma kindly brought her some ear plugs to wear when she got a bit upset by the noise. The jugs of juice on the bowling lanes went down well with the kids and they enjoyed their food which was a choice of burger/veggie burger, hot dog or chicken nuggets and chips. A mixture of sweets was also on the table. I can highly recommend having a kids party here, many thanks again! ❤🎳🎉

Is it run down? Yes. Is it in the middle of an industrial wasteland? Yes. Has it had a lick of paint ever? No. Does any of the above mentioned takeaway from the great time you will have here? Absolutely not. The staff here are really helpful and attentive. The arcade kept drawing me back with a great selection of games. The drinks were expensive but the lanes were cheap (compared to prices in London where I live) so it was refreshing to have a game of bowling and know that my wallet remains happy.

Loads of fun, food and drink is lovely, staff are friendly great with kids, service on food is very slow, lanes are big enough for larger parties

Very dated, the whole place needs a complete refurb, should of used the money to update this one rather then open a brand new one in speke as that’s where il use in the future, but saying that my kids had a great time, staff was around if needed, helpful, friendly and all the arcade games was in use at my time of visiting.

Good little place for bowling and arcade, the parking is a bit of a mess that needs sorting out put there is plenty of space there. From the outside it looks like a real mess due to the old units being demolished but the inside is fine.

  • 4/5 Pizzaboy U. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty run down exterior, but inside it is still more than functional. Our kids had a great time there and the staff were both friendly and helpful

Went for a team work xmas treat, had a meal there it was awful choice of chicken/beef burger or hot dog dry and tasteless, the bowling was good except some of the balls didnt so much roll as bounce due to all the chips in them.

We visited recently and approached a young guy in glasses, short hair and slim build, and asked him for help. He couldn't do enough for us. Really went out of his way to get bowling balls for the kids that weren't available on our lane, helped me change settings on our game, ordered food and brought over drinks, checked on us to see if our food arrived which it hadn't by the time we finished our game. Every time I seen him, he was busy collecting glasses, checking on customers and literally didn't stop. He's an absolute credit to the place and should be commended for it. Just wish I got his name. If it wasn't for him, I don't think we'd return. The toilets are filthy, several boarded up and out of order we were brought half of our food well after finishing our game by a female member of staff who couldn't care less and spent most of the time chatting with another colleague. I had to ask her where the rest of our food was. She didn't seem to do a whole lot while he was clearing tables and constantly on the go. I really hope that his efforts are recognised as it's customer service like that that makes people feel valued and want to come back.

As a bowling ally it is a good kids indoor play area. You can wear normal shoes while you bowl, infact it is encouraged. The lanes are not maintained and there are many distractions. Not for the serious bowler but good for a fun time

Was very busy when we went and only one lane was available but the bumper was faulty had to keep manually lifting it up myself for my daughter. Told staff and it could not be fixed but was given free vouchers for next time we go very good customer service

Had a game of bowling here, if we didnt have young kids with us who looking forward to it we would have walked straight out, staff were friendly and helpful but the place is disgusting, toilets are an absolute disgrace the less said the better. Hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere but all empty, needless to say i will not be retuning.

Went bowling here today. Reasonable prices and very friendly helpful staff. Easy parking.

  • 4/5 jay w. 10 months ago on Google
Bowling was what I was expecting, good customer service really nice staff. The food was better than expected, chicken burger meal was 🔥really nice. The toilets kind of put me off as it had a strange smell and the floor was really dirty. Arcade games we're good apart from a few that got closed down due to technical problems. But in all I would recommend this place.🙌

Very old and grubby. Toilets weren't very clean. Last building standing on a bit of wasteland. Could do with a massive overhaul. Had a couple of issues with the bumpers not going down. Very few staff, was waiting at the bar for a while. Kids enjoyed it though.

All in all a terrible experience. Staff didn’t even know we ordered food until we spoke to the staff member on the front desk, which meant the food was cooked in a rush with no care for food hygiene nor presentation. Had no salad or anything with it, so it was just like eating a rubber burger. I would of expected for a family bowling place for it to be a bit more organised and safe for food consumption. Staff were no real help, it took over an hour to receive all of our order. Also not to mention our bowling lane pins malfunctioned about 3 times, staff never really offered to move lanes even though there were a few lanes available during our games. Due to the food, when I got home I had really bad case of food poisoning. I’m really let down by Hollywood Bowl as its a place I’ve been a loyal customer towards since I was a child and also the fact it was meant to be a fun day for my brother because of his birthday which was sadly ruined by this situation. I can say that I will not be coming again and not recommending it to any of my friends or family. I would rather find another place, as this has not been the first time that this has happened with the unorganised staff and the local centre.

Booked my sons 6 birthday party there with bowling and food at party tables. Due staff shortages, food came out in dribs and drabs ruining the party, children couldn’t have their food together, some parents left before the end of the party due to the time waiting. Would not recommend for a child’s party.

The place is in dire need of some TLC. I drove past the place thinking the entrance was by Smyths as the road that leads to the venue looks abandoned. Once there the venue looks sad and confused, are they knocking it down or looking to refurbish? Anyway once inside, we had lots of fun, took the family for 1 game ended up staying for a few more games. Everyone enjoyed their time and i seen other families having fun too. It's shows never judge a book by it's cover. We will Definitely be back.

The bowling lanes need updating as they are very tired and in poor condition. The arcade section has been updated recently so there is a lot of fun to be had there. The food is not something I have tried so I can't say anything about that. The drinks are expensive but it's what you expect in places like this.

I haven’t been in a good 4 years and I was very surprised to see that is has been refurbished. It looks very nice and modern, the bowling alley are better and I love the new machines. The arcade part was ok, the claw machines were rigged in a very blatant way so it took the fun of it (they always are but this was over the top) and 2 games eat our coins. Otherwise it was ok.

Went here with about 100 of us Breakfree group. And had a fantastic time. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Coffee was excellent. Kids loved it. Couldn't fault it. Highly recommended. 👍

Went in here very briefly, the penny machines were fun and the place seemed alright. However, the toilets stunk and the handle to the door was nearly falling off.

Came Saturday approximately 10-10.30pm and was told we could only play one game with four people despite closing at midnight, because even though there were 10-20 lanes unused only one or two could be kept open??? This didn’t make any sense and we went to an alternate bowling alley

Not too busy and not too quiet, seemed clean enough and the prices were somewhat fair, except for the food/drinks. Will definitely visit numerous times as the area is a common hangout spot of ours.

  • 1/5 Ami P. 6 months ago on Google
Dead atmosphere felt empty and took 3 staff and a manager to serve some food and drinks. Used to be a brilliant place was an absolute shambles left after the game. No wonder it is only £3 for a second game.

Booked the family party package which came as 2 games, a meal & drink each and winners trophy. We had 3 lanes and had a great evening, food was spot on 👌 And the kids cups and sweets where an added bonus as i didnt realise they got those. The winners Trophy was great, I expected a little plastic thing but this was much better, made it more fun presenting it😆

Not sure how they think this old building is acceptable. The road up to the bowling venue is hidden behind construction areas. Once I finally found the road, it was blocked by a winnebago. The state of the road and car park are so run down, I had to double check I was at the right place. Upon arrival, per my photo, you can see that it's seen better days. Inside, it is ok-ish, but severely in need of a lick of paint and updating. Won't be going back in a hurry...

Good place for kids birthday parties and affordable. We had our sons birthday party here today with about 20 kids they all had fun and the package was well priced. Sophie one of the staff members was excellent and really helpful thank you

Cheap in a Wednesday family of 4 2 games for £18 so can't complain. The cold drinks on draft have a weird dirty taste to them and they're always low or out of stock with bottled drinks Inc water. Bowling itself was fun and service was good.

  • 5/5 D M. 2 years ago on Google
I took the family there for a birthday bowling and meal package. Service was great, a member of staff was there to look after our needs throughout. I forgot the name of the lady who sorted us out, but she was great! Food was great and my son was chuffed with the trophy 😁

It's ok. Place feels a bit dated. Recently went for a kids party. Was pretty chaotic, not enough ramps to go around. Didn't seem to be a system to get the right party food to the correct child.

A much more enjoyable experience with the dividers between seating areas, now that I don't have to look at the maggots next to me. Hopefully this feature is here to stay post scamdemic.

Staff really helpful but The actual lanes are in shocking condition, took my daughter to one over in new brighten last weekend for first time, with the wood presumably been waxed and level we had a good game. Fast forward one week to this venue and the ball was all over the place and went twice as slow, shame because came a few years ago with friends and was much better then than now.

  • 4/5 Sarah A. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely little bowling alley, the staff were so accommodating. Table service for drinks and nothing was too much trouble. Made my daughters birthday a lovely one. The car park needs some investment but other than that it was a great visit.

It is an alright place. There are arcades by the entrance including Minecraft and Jurassic World themed. The lines are ok. It was nice and quiet in the morning, so feel free to come with kids.

It's a staple day out in Liverpool. The whole world around it has been flattened but Hollywood bowl still stands proud bringing smiles and laughter to families all over the county.

  • 1/5 sophia w. 2 years ago on Google
Let's just say your game will be intermittent, which made are game experience terrible this place definitely need to be refurbished. Bowling pin missing in the line up or not come down at all, barrier for the children only one side came up.. then to top it off when leave passing the arcade.. you could smell weed..inside the building.

  • 3/5 Haley “Moon Maiden” B. 2 years ago on Google
This place has got so much potential especially since there are no other Bowling Allies in the area yet its pretty run down by todays standards. The cost of the Drinks at the bar is extortionate and we didn't even have anything Alcoholic so I suggest you take your own drinks if you fancy a play about 👍

  • 2/5 Andy C. 2 years ago on Google
In bad state of repair, started off with only one way in and out which caused confusion and congestion for those arriving and leaving at the same time. We then had to wait for over 40 minutes for our precooked lane to cool down, which is a common fault with the machinery, why couldn't this be factored in before allowing us to book for our time. We then had to wait 40 minutes for our food as there was only 1 member of staff serving, and when it came it was almost inedible burger and fries I'd ever had, should have gone to McD's next door. I would of gave only 1 or even 0 stars if we hadn't had such a good time bowling.

  • 2/5 Leah H. 2 years ago on Google
booked a party here and was disappointed i asked if they could put the names on the lanes for when it started so it was abit easier as that took time off the bowling time and they didn’t food came out late and when it did come out half of it was missing and cold i had to ask more than twice where the second half of the food was according to the manager the chef “never prepped enough nuggets that day” which baffled me because they’re most probably cooked from frozen there was no cutlery with the food had to ask for the juice also the toilets were disgusting the staff are on a go slow and disorganised made the day stressful also party had finished and no ice cream came out what i paid extra for and got asked by the manager when i asked for a refund “ did you ask for it?” why would i ask for something iv paid extra for? felt like the manager wasn’t bothered and staff are lazy

  • 1/5 Karl B. 2 years ago on Google
Absolute dump of a place, needs a major refurb, toilets boarded up and padlocked, bar toilets are a mess, urine on the floor, had vomit in the urinal, mentioned it to staff, when I went back later, looks like they tried to unblock it with water and then just left it full of floating vomit . Only serving coffee as they havnt got tea bags. This place is like the pontins of edge lane. Ripping kids off playing games to win tickets for abysmal and a very small selection of prizes. I'll be avoiding this place

was here on Saturday for the first time in about 15 years and its not changed 1 bit since then 6 of us 3 adults 3 kids paid £80+ for 2 games the place is run down and battered smells of mould and damp toilets not in use only the disabled is in use others boarded up both games were interrupted when the pins would not come down due to the lane braking had to go and get someone twice to get it fixed waiting for ages for someone to go back and fix it some pins red some white no order just random makes it look like they have just found some pins and put them in the lineup lanes battered and marks all over the lane whole place falling apart ceiling tiles missing and the balls chipped and uneven. Arcade only half the machine's working and the 2p and 10p slotting once there was 12 only 4 useable due to all others being jammed the whole place is a dump won't be going back the whole area has been redone this place needs closing and then someone with some money and make a nice new hub for people to go with there kids

A blast from the past! Can't believe this place is still running, yes it's dated & old fashioned but I brought my son here today and had a great time. After going here loads when I was little myself it's hardly changed, staff were fine in my experience. My 4yr old enjoyed every second & that's the most important thing😁

Great night, played 3games,then into the arcade, we also had food here. The only issue is I am gluten free and the option I had was chips(which I just risked it as I was starving) however the staff were lovely esp the waitress/server on the food section. We had a great time and will be coming back

  • 3/5 Megan E. 1 year ago on Google
Bowling alley, arcades bar and food. Clean but arcade not very well maintained, various machines didn't work and still took our money. Nice location just opposite busy retail park but quite a standard venue. Kids will enjoy it regardless

  • 5/5 Darragh G. 2 years ago on Google
Went in for a few games on the basketball machines. Unfortunately the first machine I used had an issue, but one of the staff Jamie made sure the issue was handled quickly. Although I was only down £1 he handled the situation with utmost importance, great staff!
