I agree with all the complaints about changing rooms being shut in the week, which is the case in my nearest stores. Feeble excuse is, that 'many customers prefer to try on at home'?? Maybe they do, but many don't, and all customer's should have a choice, as it's certainly not viable for myself and plenty of others. Would need to buy multiples of items, always queueing for so long to purchase, and then again when returning. Twice the amount of fuel, or public transport costs, may need something in a hurry... need I go on? Matalan was always one of my first 'go to' stores for clothing etc, but I haven't shopped there for months now, due to this. No point. And I work weekends, which I'm sure many others do. I'm sure they will lose lots of sales due to this ridiculous policy.

Useless popped in on day off needed to try jeans and trousers. changing rooms only open weekends and got told there are mirrors in store for trying on ....so you expect your customers to undress i to underwear in store. some things need to be tried I ll go elsewhere that will allow you try on I'm not buying multiple item and sizes to then drive back to return. Suggetion put a notice in your door way to save customers waiting their time browsing.

******UPDATE******* 13TH DECEMBER After a lengthy email communication back and forth with Matalan customer services (😩) I was told I unfortunately I couldnt have a refund but I could have a gift card for the value of the shoes (£18) I complained that this was inadequate after the treatment I received in store, and I'm not actually getting a refund....just the opportunity for Matalan to keep my money, and purchase something else that may break! I was then offered online voucher for 20% off. I declined....why would I want to spend more money at Matalan??? So, that's where we are... No refund, I dont particularly want a gift card - I dont even want to set foot in there again- and I'm certainly not going to spend even more money online, discount or not! ****************************************** I came to store today to exchange a pair of shoes my son has had for a grand total of 17 days. The metal part of the zip used to pull up the actual zip had snapped off. I had proof of purchase, from 3rd November. The assistant manager was quite rude and refused an exchange (which was what I wanted for a cheaper pair - originals in the size required not in stock) and was refused on the grounds that the shoes were 'too worn'.my son is 11. He has learning difficulties and possesses a blue badge. Hes not exactly running marathons in these shoes! I would suggest if they look too worn after 17 days it comes down to poor quality of the shoe. In my opinion, the only worn looking part was the fleece upper, which, when constantly rubbing against socks, may arguably look bobbly. Soles were fine. The zip was the issue and no fault of mine. I rang head office, who said I should be refunded. Rang the store and was told be the supervisor she couldn't overrule her assistant manager's decision. I am so disgusted at this....I felt embarrassed in front of a whole queue of customers, and like I was the one with a problem for returning some shoes after 17 days. I stated I felt that this was unacceptable. The assistant manager looked like she couldnt care less. Its certainly made me reassess shopping there again. See photos for 'state of shoes' and repair subsequently made at home so my son can have some reasonable wear from these shoes.

Mainly clothing store where changing rooms work only on weekends. What a joke! I had to buy the clothes, try at home and then go back to return. Really ? At least give a big sign at the front door of the situation as I wasted my time completely....

Clean inside and a good big shop. Friendly staff .The only thing that lets it down is the parking.. I mean this is predominantly a cloves shop and we have 2 mother and baby parking places?. Seriously Matalan 2 ?. Look at your client base. Most of the people i see in there have children with them.

Visited the Warrington store earlier this evening as my husband was looking for a suit for a wedding. We were very disappointed & angry to find that he could not try any suits on as the changing rooms are now only open on Saturday & Sunday! What is that all about? Absolutely ridiculous. We were told he could return them if they didn't fit! Not sure who has made this decision or why but you will lose a lot of customers due to this as lots of people choose to shop during the week when not working or in the evenings when the store is a lot quieter and like to try things on before they buy. Please sort this out!

Ridiculous shop and shop manager in Warrington. You spend the time for choosing your items and you find that fitting rooms are closed because they are open only Saturday and Sunday? What I suppose to do with all these clothes. In the answer from manager i only heard ' this is no my decision' and you can buy and return the items! This is completely unserious treatment of their customers. Hope this shop will go bankrupt. I definitely will not go there again, no time for waste.

Was recently in the Warrington store, spotted some nice trousers but the changing rooms were closed, only open on Saturday and Sunday. Terrible. Won't be coming back. Get your changing room policy sorted out.

It's a Matalan much the same as other Matalans you might have visited. Plenty of free parking. McDonald's very close if you fancy a fast food hit.

This is a nice size; however it is lacking stock. I had gone for towels but the ones I wanted had no available stock apart from bath sheets. This seemed to be the case for a lot of things in the store. A lot of the shelves seemed have full or missing most sizes. I would also like to note that the checkouts seem to be in a strange place tucked away in the corner. I did use the self checkouts which were very easy to use unlike other reviews had stated.

Went in evening, very quiet which is good for me, well stocked but jeans section hold stock for skinny people, hubby needs 38 x 30 - skinny fit not an option. Not catering too well for over 50 and weighty.

Had a problem with the upgraded app and they spent quite some time sorting it out for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Really appreciate all they did. Couldn't have done it on my own. 👍👍

Found some lovely summer Jim jams. Beautiful summer White school socks with ribbons at the top. Lovely pink trouser suit for my son's wedding.

Had to queue for click and collect parcel which had taken over a week to arrive. Store didn't have the size I wanted for 2 items, so I had to order online. Pity they can't replenish the sizes that are not available in store. Clothing is great and good value.

No customer toilet. Had to hunt to find a member of staff. Large area of shop was without stock. Didn't find what I was looking for. Very difficult to exit the carpark when turning right due to high volume traffic and poor visibility due to all vehicles waiting to enter the McDonald's drive thru. Would not visit this store again.

Matalan lost a huge instore sale by not having the changing rooms open during the week. I'm not able to shop at the weekend as my son has special needs and taking him shopping wouldn't work. I didn't have the funds to buy ever item I wanted tontrynon (most in 2 sizes!!) and then have to come all the way back to return the ones that weren't suitable. I went home ordered just 2 items online and am having to return one as its not a great fit. So no.more online or inshore shopping at matalan for me. Shame as I've been a customer for a number of years.

Went with daughter to Winwick matalan they have now decided to only have fitting room open Saturdays. Disgraceful and I certainly wasn't the only one not happy. My daughter needed to try clothes on after just having a baby. And I like to try as one size in one shop is not always same elsewhere . So half our goods put back. Rest we took home in the hope they would fit . Both of us need to return items so another trip out unnecessary especially for daughter with young baby. Sorry matalan I and my daughter will not be going back

Probably the better one of the shops in the area, the layout is better than the others. The staff are nice and friendly. The only things I can complain about are the dust and the temperature. It was like the heating was on in those changing rooms as you walked in 🥵. The dust was so bad tbf, thick clumps in the changing rooms but also behind the tills, you really need to get a cleaner in 🤦🏻‍♀️.

This is a massive store, perhaps you might even consider it too big. There's a lot to see and a number of great bargains to be had, but you have to look around to find them at times. It feels a little soulless because of the size, and you can easily lose the person you go with, but then again this may not always be a bad thing.

5 self service tills that's 5 people out of a job and the que for paying cash round the store. I hope I've kept someone in a job putting my shopping away.

Nice selection of clothing, decents prices as well. They have good safety procedures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Matalan used to be thriving with an atmosphere years ago. It's now extremely understaffed on both the shop floor and the till situation (especially since covid) is a joke. Nobody knows how to use a self checkout and there's queues all the way round because the 1 or 2 staff on the actual tills move at the pace of a snail. Need a bigger petite section. Often times the front door mannequins have a lovely outfit on and I look for it and it's nowhere, to then be told 'oh islts discontinued'..... Why is it on your front of store promo stand then?! 🤔 They don't even take it off when told. Bad promo
