Came across this gem after a little visit in Chester Market today. Just the aromatic smells I was getting from here as I was strolling past, I had to stop and see what it was all about and I was not disappointed. After a good chat with the owner who is very welcoming and friendly, I tucked into my meal and was not disappointed. I'll be back for sure, thanks again

Delicious traditional homemade Bengali food. Caters for almost everyone. The menu has chicken, lamb and vegetarian options and don’t miss out the various Bangladeshi street food. The staff is friendly as well so feel free to ask them for recommendations and whatnot

Amazing, authentic food made with love. Guromas curry’s are a perfect blend of spices, sauce and meat and the accompanying sides are out of this world. A must try it you’re in the Chester market or if you fancy a takeaway at home!

Took a trip to Chester today and found a market with food stalls. After being spoilt for choice, this bengali street food spot caught my eye (and my scent!). It was hands down THE best bengali food I have ever tried. Not your typical English curry house style food, it was real and authentic (I later discovered that the name Guroma translates to "little mother" which is fitting since they use their mother's authentic family recipes). It was amazing to see a family ran establishment that was so efficiently ran and such lovely people also with a real talent for wowing taste buds! I will definitely be back during my next visit to Chester

Whenever I see a restaurant saying its a Bangladeshi restaurant, I get disappointed after having a meal there but not Guroma. If you miss having bangladeshi food and specially your moms home cooked meal then this is the place to go! 10/10. Will be there everytime I'm in Chester.

Pleasant enough bengali cuisine for a market stall. Nice flavours and good variety. Good to see bengali food being served for all to enjoy! Found it to be pricey for what was actually being served - definitely a treat! Whilst tasty enough, wasn't the whole sensory experience that I imagined - food wasn't piping hot nor did the flavours truly excel or bang.

Lovely little halal food kiosk in the middle of the bustling Chester Market. Very hospitable staff and explained the menu items. Little bit more deshi style bhaisaab 😁😁😁!!! understandable, though, given the majority of the patrons probably couldn't handle the spice....or could they???

Absolutely delicious chicken curry, the potatoes were so light and fluffy and everything tasted really fresh and flavorful. The chutneys were next level, samosas just… everything was great! We went back for a second time in 2 weeks and had a wrap and biryani, they knocked it out of the park again!

My partner enquired about allergies and was told they couldn't accommodate her needs - fair enough. However, they were very rude and dismissive - kindness costs nothing. The food might be great but we won't bother now we know the service isn't.

So, so good!! We had the chicken and onion baji wrap with a lentil Dahl dip.

Guroma is a stall in the food court of the market, so you grab a table and then select which stall you want, like Italian, sea food or in my case for a good curry, Guroma. I’ve eaten their food on my only two visits to the food court they will be my go to choice for visit number three. On both occasions I ordered what is best described as the curry of the day. It costs about £10 for a small oval dish with a base of rice, some simple salad tucked in the one corner and the most gorgeously flavoured meat (chicken on both occasions). It’s not fiery, just pleasantly spiced and flavoursome. If the food cannot be served immediately, they’ll give you a buzzer which goes off when the food is ready for collection. The staff always seem pleased to serve you too. They sell cold drinks too (there’s a separate bar for alcoholic drinks if you so desire). Highly recommended.

Delicious chicken curry. Not too hot and spicy, just right. The lime pickles and pickled onions add to the flavor. A pint of beer from the nearby bar, great music and the neat row of tables in a courtyard that lets the sun in...... wonderful atmosphere and environment.

I’ve eaten here a few times in the new chester market and the food has always been fantastic value, well presented and really tasty. It’s one of my favourites eating places in the market. Would highly recommend.

Eaten there at the new Chester market for the first time today. It was the nicest food I've eaten in a long time. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I can't wait to go back.

It’s hard to find this sort of street food in the uk, most places focus on the Indian side of streetfood and whilst there are some similar ones, Guroma knocks or out the park with the authentic Bangladeshi street food. Come to me Jhalmuri!
