You get into the place down a few steps, inside it's larger than you think with open plan and some booth's, good selection on the menu from snacks to full meals,the food was excellent as was the service place fills up so best book

Eaten here twice now. Both times were excellent on all counts. The sharing platters are especially good. Staff friendly and helpful. Whether you are new to Chester or someone who remembers this place's previous incarnations - it's highly recommended!

Great ambience inside. A good option for a romantic date with well designed spaces. I ate Korean chicken burger. It wasn’t the best burger I’ve eaten but was still good. Kind waiters.

Great place for a nice meal. The food was good(with the exception of the chicken wings) and the staff were friendly and helpful. We sat in the alcove, and the atmosphere and decor were walm and welcoming. Definitely recommended.

Pre Christmas Turkey Dinner and a recent family meal. Lovely ambience and very welcoming. My son loved his Turkey Dinner ( I had a Whiskey Haggis starter …. Scrumptious indeed) Beef feather blade was delightful too. And the big plus … great for taking the pooch in for a cheeky beer on a weekend stroll !

Great range of beers. Good service and tried the small plates tonight. Very good. If they can get a Scotch Egg right, that’s a good bellwether. Hope this place survives.

We had a lovely meal, it's an old fashioned pub thank goodness, not another trendy wine bar, snacks free on the bar at certain times , staff were brilliant. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

The staff are not only friendly, but professional and efficient. Best Sunday Lunch I've had in many a year.. highly recommended. Excellent beer, winne and ambiance... Well worth a visit or an evening out. 🤗🤗

We were made really welcome by the lovely team of staff here last night. The pub has a local feel, with delicious food and a great selection of drinks. The harissa lamb in the small plates and the chickpea and squash filo we’re both so tasty. Would highly recommend

Great interesting food, good ambience, staff friendly, easy to chat to, genuine people. Menu was interesting - too interesting as I wanted more than one dish. No problem as I had three small dishes. I particularly liked the chips with truffle and the scotch egg. I have no connection with the company and do give harsh reviews, bit not for this!!!

Seven of us stumbled on this place whilst looking for somewhere to eat. We found it fairly quiet and so were a little worried, we shouldn't have been. We all ordered food and had various items from the menu. Everything we ordered was excellent, especially the scotch egg. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful, we will definitely be going back.

Beautifully restored pubs with nooks and crannies. Candles all over the pub during the day so can only imagine how atmospheric it would be after dark. Lovely cuppa (although pricey includes a large shortbread which was delish). Doesn't mention on the menu and for people with dietary requirements or on a tighter budget it may be worth offering a cuppa without the biscuit.

This is the best roast dinner I have ever had in a pub. Stout bread was a revelation and the sticky toffee pudding definitely worth the calories! We will absolutely be back.

Henry Potts was absolutely brilliant. We had dinner here on our first night in town and it did not disappoint. The scotch egg and honey mustard sausages were delicious. We ordered the ribeye, the pork ribeye, and the chicken ham hock pie for the mains. Each one was cooked properly and the flavours impressed. For dessert we tried the sticky toffee pudding and the rhubarb bakewell, which were perfectly lovely. Service spot on and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It has eclectic touches wherever you look letting you settle in and enjoy your meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Went here for lunch with friends, the service and the food was great. When it came to dessert though my wife is lactose intolerant and the dessert options were none existent. She could have sorbet and that was all. Seems in this day and age having more than 1 vegan dessert is an absolute must. The staff were friendly at the bar and drinks were good.

Lovely little country pub right in the city centre. Quieter vibes than other pubs and the perfect place to go for a quiet drink and a beautiful roast dinner. Service was ok. But food was out of this world.

Flawlessly decorated pub, excellent selection of beers and wines. Great service. We didn't eat but after seeing the food coming out; we deffo will next time.

This place was a perfect place to take my partner for a date night , we drove from Nantwich, everyone was coming out from the races in an amazing mood so the atmosphere was also amazing. John,Tracy and another young lady in a blue chequered shirt couldn’t of been more hospitable, always checking on us for food, drinks etc, and the Argentinian Malbec was awesome, we were treated like royalty ,the food was unbelievable, massive compliments to the chef and all the kitchen staff too!, I’ll recommend to anyone! You guys smashed it 👊

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely tasty lunch here. It has a lovely welcoming feel. We had a selection of the small plates, and each dish was delicious and just the right amount. The staff are so friendly and the service was great too. Loved the brownie when we paid the bill too.
