One of the good sri Lankan rice and curry joints around rathmalana area. They do deliver via ubereats. They have a good selection of delicious curries and also have veg pork chicken fish prawns as options. The dining area is also basic but gives a nice lankan vibe. If you are searching for a good rice n curry place around the area this is highly recommended.

Kala balun has gained a reputation for serving outstanding Sri Lankan Rice and curries in an authentic way, Located in Rathmalana. The setting is calm though it can get crowded during a busy day. The food tastes was amazing and unfortunately they had only Lunch but it has many varieties, We can select four curries we want and if need more it will cost extra amount. They have well-balanced spices and all the dishes are beautifully presented. The lunch buffet is worth the price and I honestly have no complaints and I really love their scenic interior with traditional decorations, So Will definitely jump at the next chance I get to visit.

Bought 1 chicken 1 fish and 2 vegetable rice and curry. The food was delicious. Got to choose 4 curries for veg and non veg. Hope they would consider letting us to choose 5 curries for the veg rice and curry.

I had a chance to visit the place on a saturday around 2PM. I got very friendly service, had to choose few curries from good menu. They are serving chicken fish beef and pork curries with rice and srilankan curries. Nice place less crowded when I visit. Hope to try the place again. If you wanna try more curries please visit around 12 - 01 PM.

Found this place by chance on a Saturday afternoon. One of the few places down Ratmalana towards Colombo. Village atmosphere inside with the Thatched roof. Food was really excellent!!! Served on Nelum Kola and rattan baskets. Big portion of rice. Very Clean setting. Not a single fly!! Owner’s kids were also having lunch there.. so you know they trust their product 🙂 Friendly owner and staff. Price was reasonable. Highly recommended. The singers and instruments was a nice added touch for whoever is eating in. Also on Uber eats. Saw at least 4 riders coming in to pick up orders while we were there.

Looked at reviews and ordered because of all the good reviews, turns out those reviews were from 3 years ago. Not tasty at all. Not even worth 200 Rs. Can’t even see the pork pieces in the rice and curry. The recent reviews are bad wish I saw them earlier. Food taste so bland!

Had lunch from Kala Balan yesterday.There’s a variety of curries to go with. I’m used to order from here when I’m at Uni but it was the first time visiting the place. Staff was very nice. Live it there.

The best place to have an authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry around the area. Place is nice and calm. Interior design is unique with wooden tables and stools. Alsways playing some old songs in the background which I love. There is a variety of meat choices and vegitables you can choose. A portion comes with 1 meat choice, 4 vegitables and papadam. Also can add on omlets etc. If you like. Dine in portions are served in a pan watti. Food is delicious. I love the black pork curry they have. Mouthwatering indeed. Customer service is good. The staff os friendly. Another special thing I noticed is that they have a juice dispenser which is for Uber Eats staff. I really appriciate that.
