An
ancient
place
popular
for
its
rice
and
curry
and
affordable
prices.
It
still
looks
the
same
but
a
tad
cleaner.
That
doesn't
mean
the
place
is
spotlessly
clean
but
it's
ok.
The
ever
persistent
patronage
of
house
(store)
flies
are
a
bit
intimidating
but
thankfully
the
number
is
less
nowadays
and
most
food
items
are
locked
inside
display
cabinets
to
prevent
them
(the
flies
not
the
customers)
from
sampling
the
merchandise.
The
rice
and
curry
is
the
rough
kind,
palatable
for
the
toughest
stomachs
that
can
tolerate
excessive,
multiple
spices.
But
it
tastes
kind
of
old
school
and
good.
Their
biriyani
is
also
popular
and
tastes
ok.
The
yellow
rice
is
just
that...
yellow
rice
with
no
biriyani
flavors
but
it
helps
that
the
rice
is
soft
and
mixed
with
a
generous
amount
of
curry
leaves,
fried
onions
and
cashew
nuts.
The
roasted
(fried)
chicken
is
surprisingly
tender
and
juicy
and
the
coated
batter
is
crispy
(almost)
and
tasty.
The
biriyani
also
comes
with
a
generous
helping
of
mint
sambol
(nice!)
and
spicy
pineapple
curry
(very
nice!!).
The
prices
are
still
value
for
money
if
not
for
taste
and
many
flock
to
this
restaurant
for
that
sole
reason.
The
staff
was
very
friendly
and
helpful
and
will
cater
to
your
individual
preference
and
required
quantities
(to
a
limit)
without
much
hesitation.
There
is
no
parking
of
course
as
it
is
situated
on
the
Galle
Road
right
in
front
of
the
Maliban
biscuit
factory.
But
you're
sure
to
find
some
space
in
the
vicinity
along
the
main
road.
