ordered food yesterday 09/08/2021 at 7.03pm 2 chicken kottu packs as i am a regular customer in this restaurant, and i received my order as usual. but when i tried to consume the food i saw there were dead ants in the chicken. Its awful and utter disgusting!!! these kind of unhygienic and careless acts needs to be punished and and take necessary actions or banned as this might lead in to diseases and sicknesses. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will never buy or think of this place. Please dont buy anything from this place!!!! I shall complaint on this to the Central Food Control Unit of the Colombo Municipal council and consumer affairs....

After about 8 years I visited there. The place is very calm and clean. Well arranged. When m there no power. They have power backup also. The food was so tasty. I ordered a small nasi georang. The portion s well enough for two. Very reasonable price. Staffs and service was so good. Still they maintain their standards. For small parties most suitable place. Highly recommended

We had some Indian dishes, and the food was delicious. We were the last customers, and even though the restaurant was closing, the staff let us stay for dinner. This incident showed me that the staff is really supportive and attentive.

Well I started with Tom yam soup, it was awesome with its taste. And the quantity was superb. As I ordered a regular one which was OK for 2 people. And then I ordered mixed fried rice. Good food. Friendly staff. Provide good portion in every meal. Many authentic Malay meals available in their menu card. Unique beverages available. We have visited there many times. And don't forget to ask there special garlic pickle and mango chutney along with the chili paste. They don't charge for it. It makes more appetite to eat.

One of the best restaurant to get mouthful of Malaysian and Indian cuisine foods. The portions are enough for two in average. Well mocktails and beverages also good. My suggestion to get nasigoreng rice, which is my favorite here at Malay.

I ordered mixed fried rice, deviled cuttlefish and beef curry last Sunday. It took around 45 minutes to receive my order which was okay for me to wait. Taste of the cuttlefish is really horrible which was like flour and mixed fried was really dry. Beef curry was okay. Too much for the price. Better don’t go.

Wanted to have some decent food for the first time in 2021 while visiting relatives as constituted by tradition. Was searching for a restaurant on Hill street Dehiwela and came across Malay Restaurant which my parents approved to have good food. Went inside and the usual routine followed where a waiter gave us 3 menu cards. After few minutes he came to our table again and asked whether we are ready to order. My dad then asked what's the best you could suggest us, as we came after a long time. He then suggested and approved of the Dum biriyani then we too agreed and told he to proceed with the order requesting for warm water and a bottle of mineral water. After 10 minutes the waiter came back to our table and said Dum Biriyani is not available. We were a bit confused as we didnt see anyone coming to the restaurant after us nor there was any rush in present in the restaurant. Then we were like, what else is there then? as we were anyway behind our schedule. Then he suggested the nasi goreng. We agreed on that too as we just wanted to have our lunch and be done with it. However 30 to 45 minutes passed and there was no sign of the waiter who took our order. In the mean time another family came and placed their order. And their order comprised of many dishes were brought to their table. We were wondering why a simple nasi goreng was taking over 45 minutes to be prepared. However after about, another 5 minutes we were anxious as we just wanted to eat something and go. We called another waiter and asked where our waiter is and to call him as we wanted to tell him that we have decided to leave. Then he too vanished for sometime and started servicing his tables. Then another waiter appeared from the kitchen area, we called him and asked for the waiter who took our order. He too disappeared for sometime and then came back started serving his tables. After this we decided to leave. The above happened in between 2:00PM and 3:00 pm on 02.01.2021 (I am not quite sure of the exact time to confirm this they can conveniently check their CCTV footage and time stamps). At 5:07 PM on 02.01.2021 (same day of the incident) I got the following message as my order. Dear mr manoj Your Order Placed Bill No:238447 And Bill Amount:3421.00. 1. FRIED PRAWNS X 1.0 = 1200.00. 2. GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD X 1.0 = 530.00. 3. DEVILLED FISH [THALAPATH] X 1.0 = 750.00. 4. 400 ML SPRITE X 1.0 = 180.00. 5. BAS EGG FRIED RICE [SM] X 1.0 = 450.00. I dont understand what's their deal?? Our they trying justify their deficits on the cash register by pinning it on customer who didnt receive their orders or our they serving their friends and family and charging customers who didnt get their orders? If so please!! at least try to get the correct order and charge for that. Horrible third class act, special at a time like this!! Where we are in a midst of a pandemic. I wouldn't mind if someone who was deprived of securing a meal to survive, got food and that was pinned on us. This mispractice will only justify below the radar corrupt acts which cannot be justified. Just disgusting!!

Malay Restaurant is the place which is undertaking Cafe Asiana's orders as well. So we went in to make an order to take home and celebrate my birthday on 7th December 2020 at the 7.30pm. Order was placed at 7.38pm, and we were told that in 20 minutes our order would be ready. After 35 minutes, my order and 2 more orders from people who came in (and waiting) at almost same time as mine, was still waiting for the orders, but seems like it would take forever to have our orders. But more than 10 PickMe and Uber Eats orders were been sent out very frequently throughout that time. After 45 minutes, one gentleman who was waiting in line started to make inquiries as to how much longer it takes, but the reception had no clear answer. After 55 minutes being at the restaurant, my order and that gentleman's order was filled. If we stayed at home and cooked for ourselves, we would have had our dinner much earlier than waiting at this restaurant. Food was tasty. That's why I'm giving 2 stars for this restaurant. So, if you are planning to have your dinner here for a special occasion like your birthday, then my suggestion is, pick some place else.

Teo days ago I ordered a stinghopper buriyani with chicken and three drinks of lime juice. My specific instructions were to give me a leg piece of chicken and no sugar to be included in the lime juice as I am a diabetic. When I opened the buriyani staring mr in the face was a big piece of chicken breast. So I called back and told the order taker about this mistake and he confirmed to me that the person who took my order had mentioned chicken leg but the person who puts it together had made a mistake. I pushed for them to send the rider with a chicken leg, and they agreed to do so. But i called back a little later and told them the I did not want it, as I was a bit wary of anuthing being done to the piece of chicken before sending it on Further more I ordered three lime juice drinks WITHOUT SUGAR telling them that i would add the sweetener at home. But unfortunately i got two lime juices full of sugar. These mistakes can kill someone or send someone into a diabetic coma.
