The same taste since the 1990's i would say Go for it to enjoy some real Indian taste

Not a crowded place so perfect for a family time. Have tasted their chilli paneer(gravy), string hopper biryani, chilli parata, ghee masala dosa, fried rice, masala dosa, cheese kottu, vegetable biryani and Ulundu wade. Loved all of it.

Recently Ordered Idly using Uber, the Sambar is thick and tastef good. Green and Red Chutney are great too. They were well packed in containers. Highly recommend their Idly. --Previous Review-- Went for lunch. Unfortunately most of the menu items are not available at that time. That is disappointing. We ordered Chole Bhadura, not sure if I have spelt it right but you can check the menu for a similar naming. Its fantastic. It's like Poori but different, with Kadala curry. Wanted to try Dosa and paratha items but will try them one day for dinner and will update the review. The atmosphere is great, one of the walls is filled with Indian cultural activities. Got good parking space and seating for groups of people. Recommended for casual dining in.

It was our first visit here. We went there by 7:45pm and the place was empty. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Excellent ambiance with soothing pipe music . You can go through their beautiful photo frames until your food is ready. More people started coming in by 8:15pm. This place is very quiet and calming. If everyone tries to keep it that way without being too loud it'll be the best to let others experience the same ambiance. Their chefs are indians and it's certain the food is authentic. We ordered garlic Masala Dosa, Paneer Dosa , Plain Dosa and Ulundu Wadai. Garlic Masala Dosa was very fresh and crispy but sadly it had a very strong ginger flavour and almost inedible. Had left more than half of it without eating. Paneer Masala Dosa was good but nothing exceptional where Plain Dosa could be rated averge. Ulundu Wadai was great. Their sambar and other chutneys are not very exciting or flavorful for someone who have already tasted authentic indian food from places like Sri Vani Villas , Shanmugas. You don't get that exciting "Punch" as we say. Friendly waiter asked if we would like to have anything post main meal. We ordered Masala Chai. After 15mins they come back to say they can't offer Masala Chai at the moment. Our bill was somewhere Rs.2200 odd for all that with a big water bottle. All in all as a summary it was a neutral experience for us where food was average and ambiance was exceptional. I might visit again for the ambiance and maybe to try something else from their menu.

Food is delicious. The environment is very calm and family friendly to visit. Even water cost there to take a sip. Check the menu and visit if you are okay with the price range.

It’s newly opened Indian restaurant located in Mount Lavinia. Its very unique restaurant for vegetarian lovers. They serve different type of vegetarian dishes. They have north indian and South Indian dishes. Also the ambience of the restaurant was very satisfying. They have friendly staff and service was great. We ordered Butter Naan, Cheese Naan, Plain naan, paneer tikka masala, mushroom masala, kurma and ice milo. Every dish was very tasty and it’s worth for your spending. They have variety of lunch and dinner menu. Hope they will maintain service and quality for continuously. Highly recommended for hangout with family and friends.

Newly opened branch of the renowned “Dwaraka - Wellawatta”. A nice atmosphere situated in sea side avoiding the busy Mount Lavinia town with a quite big parking space. Had garlic rice, masala Dosai, Aloo gobhi which was really tasty. Prices are reasonable when compared with the portion of the foods. Indeed a very friendly, efficient, kind hearted staff. Recommend for anyone who loves to have vegetarian Indian cuisine.

Otherwise, a 5 star worth experience... ▪︎Situated bit away from the hassles of the main road at a serene neighbourhood down the Old Quarry Road. The access path is bit narrow, compared to its considerably large parking area in front of the premises. ▪︎We were there for lunch on a weekday and the place was not crowded at all. The vivid bright compact, yet comfortable furniture intensify the warmth of its ambience and creates a sense of spaciousness. The photowall is a good display of the Indian cult. The Indian instrumental music which they remembered to play at the latter part of your dining experience was quite soothing. ▪︎The staff there is quite friendly, but many does not seem to understand either English or Sinhala well. ▪︎The authenticity of the food may have made them to mark the prices bit upscale. In Spite of the variety of dishes we ordered, they managed to serve those quickly. However, the food would have been quite delicious, unless they forgot to serve it warm. Only the Paneer dish was warm out of all. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 star worth experience.

One of my favourite places! Fast moving food. Good prices and good cooking. I didn't like the regular Kothu much but definitely recommend their Pittu Kothu. Their rolls and snacks are also very good. No dining areas- only take away.

Looks can be deceiving. Yes. From outside the restaurant looks little neglected. But the taste of the food still great as usual. Ordered a normal dosa. Although little more expensive than the nearby competition, dosa is much bigger and definitely tastier. Also you get several types of chutneys and sambar. The waiting staff, Mr. Algarajah is extremely helpful. One more important thing. Their dining hall is air-conditioned which is a real luxury in a hot and humid day.

Been a customer for long and this is the only decent vegetarian restaurant back then. Excellent mouth watering dishes and sweets and a huge book stall is at the from of the hotel. Accommodation is upstairs and though never tried heard it's great as well.

This place should be declared as Historic Monument. Greenlands has never changed since I first visited last Century. Its unique. Great value for money and a marvelous trip into past years.

Best place to have a pleasant evening. The ambient it self makes you feel calm. Foods are authentic Indian style. There are plenty of choices. They have lots of paneer range and PANEER65 is the best starter. If you want to finish your meal in an Indian style, you should try their MASALA CHAI at the end. It's with full of spices. Their customer service is really nice. Always greets with a smile.Well maintained and neat.

A nice South Indian vegetarian restaurant hidden inside Mount Lavinia. They serve very good south Indian dishes such as dosas and wadas. They also have North Indian dishes with a South Indian touch. The restaurant is brand new and very clean. Parking is available for about 8 vehicles and the service is excellent.

Its a good looking restaurant with adequate parking space. Nice ambience with nice pictures and is kept very neat and tidy...pretty much secluded since its not in the main road.. Food-tried chapathi, naan , paneer and cauliflower starters and some other dishes.. the food was below par as it was over salted compared to the other dwaraka at bambalapitiya.

Used to be a very famous vegetable restaurant and hotel. Even now not revonated the old rooms without tiles are still there. Food is pretty ok but they don't have all the items listed in the menu. Very slow service. But it's a decent place to have a quick bite.

Food was very tasty. The paper Dosai and Ulundu vadai was very crisp. The staff were very attentive. The ceiling fans were not clean and full of black dust. The wash basins were not clean. Most of the bulbs were not working. Very dimly lit. The place has lost it's charm. The management needs to clean up the place.

Good hotel starve

Utterly hopeless place. I have been eating from this place for the last 30 years. Today they served me onion dosai with polsambol ????. Dosai half cooked. Now they dont know what they do. Sad......such a lovely place 30 years ago.

This place should be closed, I called in for Poori then I visited the place after 10mins. The person who answered the phone asked me to come. After I placed the order I was told that they are out of the mix for Poori. The place is old, no one cares about maintaining this place anymore

Do not order South Indian here. It is repulsive. The North Indian curries are awesome but I was delivered old, reheated nan's. Can't say it's due to a fault of the delivery cause it took only 20 min to deliver and I have had nan's delivered from Mango Tree that took way longer, and they were still fresh.

A great place to enjoy Indian cuisine. You must try the Chilli Paratha Koththu (LKR 420/-) with Masala Tea (LKR 150/-). Although it’s a vegetarian koththu, it doesn’t fall short of your expectations! P.S: Make sure to have the masala tea while it’s hot right after your meal 😉

They are charging additional 30 rupee packaging charge for each item . But packaging is very bad. Foods were damaged . Curries are not good. Disappointed.

A good place for Indian food around Mt. Lavinia. Price is not the cheapest but the food is good. There is an additional charge of Rs. 30 per item for take away packaging which I find pretty absurd. The service staff were friendly and helpful.

Tried their Parata meal and Ulundu wadai. Parata were crispy and fresh, but the kuruma served along with it was average. Loved their Kulfi and wadai. Overall atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly and quick. Prices are reasonable too.

My favorite place to get south Indian cuisine, I took there food for long time and was surprised by the unpleasant experience had the last night. According to the current situation in the country the increase in prices is very reasonable, but quality of the foods is sadly bad. I asked about it, no one gave an answer. I regret taking my friends there to eat. I don't recommend anyone to eat with the current condition. Even if it is a vegetarian restaurant, serving food to customer without the proper prescribed vegetable. If the prescribed vegetables are not available, it should not be served to the customers. Very disappointed.

This is an Eastern Indian Veg Restaurant. Selection of curries was limited. Some of the "roti"s and drinks weren't up to the expected taste. Portions were a bit small as well. First visit to the place but have ordered online through delivery services. The servers did not carry a note book to jot the order but everything arrived as ordered which is quite remarkable. Serving time was fast and some food items were cold meaning the food is pre-prepared and not kept in a food warmer. Ulundu wadai was off the fryer and crisp. Enjoyed that. Cosy place. Had a mid-size crowd. Some seemed to be regulars. Has a separate family dine-in area. Ambiance was good (colourful dining area with low lighting). No music. Men's toilet was clean but no hand wash or paper towels. Separate corridor to wash hands before/after meals. Hand wash available there. Parts of the building needs a bit of up keeping though. Old house been converted to a restaurant.
