The food was good and our server was good but the host (lady) who was to seat was quite rough and abrupt. They charged us 3000 rupees to book the table which was ok. We were fine paying a minimum bill guarantee also. However when we landed she tried to brush us out and make us sit outside and when we wanted a table insides she huffed and also spoke unevenly to both my wife and I. I was kind of appalled by her behaviour. Date visited 14th feb. On the positive - The ambiance is beyond good. The food is wholesome and will surprise you. Our server anil was great but the host left kind of a bad taste in my mind. Considering the place was not full, we could have been handled better. I mean if they want to attract a regular visiting clientele they need a staff with a 100% welcoming attitude.

The service here was very good, you are always attended by at least two staffs. The decor however was over the top, too much to handle. I felt like everything has been put up into this one place, however, this is my personal opinion. There are people who would love this. I found the restaurant expensive. I ordered Tiger prawns cooked on pepper and Cilantro. The food i must say is Delicious, the prawns were cooked right. Staying in Thailand for 5 years i know how different Thai foods can taste outside Thailand. But this was just right, so 100 points for that.

We are a couple from USA, aged 28 & 36. I booked a table here for our first night in India and requested a romantic table. We walked to the Imperial Hotel from our hotel in Connaught Place and were immediately impressed with the beautiful landscaping and impeccable hospitality of the well dressed guards and hotel staff. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, complete with an excellent ambiance, food and story behind every little detail! Ask for a tour of the different spaces in the restaurant and prepared to be wowed. The cuisine is more pan-asian than Indian so we opted for some dishes that we’ve never had before like the Kerala Prawns along with some old favorites like an excellent Thai Papaya Salad. The service is impeccable yet friendly with a full staff willing to go out of their way to make your night special. As it was our first night in India, the 2x 9% taxes on food and the 20% additional tax on alcohol was a bit of a shock but just part of dining out in Delhi. We highly recommend stopping after dinner for a nightcap at the bar, 1911, which also has cool history and decor. These are both in the first floor of a beautiful restored historic hotel. An incredibly romantic and memorable introduction to India for the both of us.

A wonderful dining experience, the restaurant is located inside the Imperial hotel, delicious Thai food and stunning antique and authentic decorations representing the journey of life. You get the dining area passing trough 16th century pillars which represent the beginning of our journey, the space between the pillars is for one person to remind us that we come alone in this world .. there is family area, love, fortune.. and end of our days where our ancestors are looking and waiting for us. The food was spectacular! Highly recommend for business, romantic and special events.

Amazing experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had visited them for my wife's birthday and had made a few requests which were followed wonderfully well. Special thanks to the maitre d' for her attention to detail and being an excellent host. The food was also delectable. Must visit.

This place has a wonderful ambience, set according to Srilankan/ keralian temple architecture. It is a very calm and relaxing to be. The food was good, not so fancy. The desert were simple and tasty. Would like to visit again :)

We were a group of 8 people and the hostess gave us a lovely table in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant had a beautiful decor and made us feel like you were in a ship. The manager was very sweet and informed us about the cuisine and took our order. We throughly enjoyed our dinner but felt that the portions were way took much bigger than we expected. But over all a lovely experience and would definitely come back again.

Experience was amazing, but food was not that great (Price structure mentioned below). The decor, ambience and people who attended surprised us. Before visiting the place we knew price will be high. As this is placed inside The Imperial Grand, high cost for food was expected. I will mention price structure further for people who are interested to find out before visiting this place. To reach this one needs to enter The Imperial Hotel, huge lobby decorated with old sketches and paintings, few statues and flowers, surrounded by other good restaurants inside the hotel, before we reached The Spice Route, we were already feeling good about it. Dim lit atmosphere with light music, old classical Asian architecture with walls adored with THAI paintings were amazing. Outside lobby wall with paintings gave us place to stroll after dinner. We ordered food, while waiting for food we were served complimentary munchies while waiting for main course. Person who served us was great and very perceptive about our needs. Kudos to him. But unfortunately food was not that great. Just above average, with oily base, I have eaten Thai food in Manhattan/New York city (not in Thailand though) multiple places but flavour was quite different what we encountered here. Good but something maybe cocunut milk was missing. But overall if one wants to have a lovely experience, definitely go there, food was not as bad as it may sound, but my expectations were but high as we paid good price for that. We were attended well to with complimentary SWEET dessert (photo attached), yes they served it free of To summarize, people were very nice, atmosphere was great and only downside was just above average food. Now details about price: Rs 1600-1800 and above for a main course dish- without rice. Rice was Rs 600 and above; portion served was satisfactory, but not enough to share with two person with normal eating capabilities. So we ordered two dishes and one rice, as we realised that rice won't enough for both of us we needed to ordered second bowl. At the end for two person, two dishes and two rice bowls we paid Rs 5500 approx. And felt good after. NO COMPLAINs about it, but to compliment all the best things about the restaurant they need to improve the food a little bit. I will recommend to visit once at least. I wouldn't have taken one star out, if the restaurants are not about food. If the review was helpful please like it, to promote it.

It is a beautiful place. I went their to celebrate a milestone. It was on my list for a very long time. So me and my best friend tried their set menu, it was nice. However we were disappointed by our server, he showed no interest in making our experience good. For a place that expensive you expect an experience. However the place was beautiful, we loved the ambience.

We were very excited to try the food for our last dinner in Delhi before flying back to the UK. Lovely restaurant, lovely hotel and great service. We were staying at Taj Palace and had breakfast there...and didn't eat anything until dinner time. At the Spice Route, we ordered the mutton curry and prawns and I felt one of the mutton pieces was a bit fruity...but put it to the back of my mind as this was a 5 star. Anyway, my wife and I got back to the hotel and were both sick. It was unfortunate as we were flying back the next day and had terrible flights - thank goodness for Imodium. My stomach upset lasted for 2 days. As a courtesy, we wrote an email to the hotel about two weeks ago informing them of what happened - but never heard back. This was the worst part of the experience. Delhi belly in Delhi! :( I hope the management sort out why a feedback email wouldn't get replied to and also why bad food was served.

It is definitely one of the best restaurants in Delhi. We decided to have dinner there since we stayed at the Imperial and we were really impressed by the quality of everything. To be honest I don’t remember all the dishes we ordered but I can definitely say that everything was very well prepared and very delicious. They also have a good wine selection. Totally recommended.

Expensive place but equally rich in its food offerings mainly from the southern part of India. The place reflects the colourful, robust and vivid southern architecture. Located in a hotel that reflects colonial style architecture it is a pleasure to visit it for a meal or for a stay.

This is one of Delhi's most elite restaurants. I happened to be here some years apart. Everything colonial still holds, when I called for booking, they reminded me of the minimum smart casuals and shoes required. This time I didn't want to take any chance, looked at my friends shoes and asked the lady on the other side if sports shoes were ok ? There came an affirmative on this one. She said, shoes of all kinds are ok, slippers of any kind is not allowed. This is probably the most important information about this restaurant. No doubt the food is good but the choice remain limited with mostly thai cuisine. One or two south Indian and Sri Lankan items were in the menu. Even though some items didn't look like Indian on the menu, the use of curry leaves in them were visible. Overall a nice experience. Nothing to say about the Imperial service and ambiance, maintained the same high standard since my first visit in 2005.

My mum and I came here for lunch last week, we requested for katrikai Kara curry without cream since I'm vegan and they accommodated the request. 5 stars for ambience, food and service but was a little disappointed with the drinks. Had the 'Bloody Mary' and 'What's Next' which were not the best. The 'Manhattan' was better. If you are looking for a venue to have a special date in an exclusive private set-up, then you can book a entire lawn with a cabana AND a live performer, who will Serenade that special someone while you enjoy dinner.

The food was amazing, I never imagined that I would like coconut based soup but I fell in love with it. More than the food, the restaurant tour was the highlight of the night for all of us. If you visit the spice route don't forget to ask for the tour. They have ancient relics and wall paintings throughout which are placed in a way to string up a really nice story which relates to the Hindu epics both Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Based on the reviews I expected to have a 5* experience. Had booked with EazyDiner 15% discount on food and soft beverage bill. On reaching they said the booking was cancelled and I needed to make a new booking to avail the discount. Took me 15 minutes to do another booking.. not a good start to a celebratory dinner 😥 After getting the booking confirmed, was so looking forward to dinner. Had starters of Kerala Prawns (lacked taste), veg spring rolls (good) and crispy chicken (nothing to write home about). For main course had Mutton curry (meat was so so tough that had to send the dish back…luckily they offered not to charge but was still on the first iteration of the bill!!), tenderloin in red curry paste (good), basil Thai mince chicken (difficult to go wrong), chicken fried rice (good), pok choy (good but spicy) and Kerala Prantha (too thick). Was it worth the hype and the prices?…I think you guessed it…No Ways!!

This place was fabulous. Not many people here and I don't know why. The prices are on the high side but the food was excellent. The indoor decor is gorgeous.

The spice route takes you to a Thai wonderland mostly although there are other cuisine options as well. But the ambience definitely screams Thai to me! It's a very elegant view and so much more comfortable and visually pleasing.. U will not want to get up and go!

Great place for lunch and a time out from exploring the city. The staff were most welcoming and attentive. You can walk off your Bellini and delicious lentil dumplings, by wandering through the beautiful Imperial Hotel, while the throng outside awaits.

One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been in. The service, atmosphere and food is 5 star. We were given the history and story painted on the walls of the restaurant by a very helpful person. Art work is outstanding.
