This hotel look very nice in the outside but the rooms are very very old. We had to switch rooms three times. It was not clean, the toilet cap was broken, we didn’t get room cleaning service in all our stay. So we tried to cancelled and they also gave us a really hard time to give us a refund. The location is good and safe compared to other places in Delhi but I really don’t recommend it. Also the food is really pricey.

The hotel has lost its charm from the good old days. I stayed here due to sentimental reasons but was very disappointed with the staff who are constantly looking for tips. It starts to get annoying as they all gather for tips even if one person has done the job. Overall an overrated place. I was very disappointed as I expected a lot from this place.

Old five star hotel has lost all its sheen. Absolutely abysmal and pathetic condition. As soon as I checked in I saw a worker killing mosquitoes with a racket. The bathroom was full with strange small flies and insects. The bed cover was torn and laces on the bedside hanging out as the stitches had come off. Mattress needs urgent replacement and same is true for bed sheets and blankets. Next the hair dryer was not working and had to be replaced after requests. Tea maker was also not working. Hot water was also not coming. Over all terrible place horrible spread of breakfast menu. Don’t ever stay there. It’s painful and the hotel needs urgent overhaul.

A luxurious hotel rated five star and above, a Well known place in Delhi. It has a history as old as Delhi. Many legends like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal sen used to visit here frequently, Many government and non government functions used to take place here. This is a hotel one should not miss and the food vegetarian and non-vegetarian are excellent and the services are also too good.

Had a pathetic experience saying at this hotel. The rooms were dirty and dust everywhere on the floor. It looked like the rooms werent cleaned in ages. The sheets looked stained too. Only saving grace was that the hotel is located in the proximity of the embassies which is the reason if you are looking for a stay , probably might be just ok to stay for a day even though the hotel by any means doesn't command or deserve the ridiculous amount of money they charge. The attention to detail is lacking in everything. The complimentary breakfast is nothing to write home about. Not sure if the other hotels in the neighborhood are equally bad but the bar is very low given how the stay at The Ashok went. During the entire stay, there were workers at the room door painting the ceiling doing some renovation while we were still in the room. Certainly not the experience or treatment you would expect after paying a hefty sum. Probably the room shouldn't have been even allotted if the management knew that they were performing renovation right in front of the room. If you are someone who prefers privacy, this is not the place to be. Overall, this was a certainly my worst ever stay experience at a so called reputed hotel. If I have to redo my entire stay, I would definitely look for alternatives.

Terrible quality of rooms for the price they charge. We entered a room and a RAT jumped from one bed onto another. When we contacted the reception, they didn't even apologize for it. They just gave us keys to another room. Even the second room was visibly dirty. The TV was tiny and had poor reception (had static and dead pixels). The free meals are very average. Overall, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The one redeeming part is the location, if you're looking to visit consulates or certain attractions in the vicinity.

You can tell that this place once used to be great a few decades ago, but is now not. The facilities and property have not been well-maintained. The management is unprofessional and the staff is rude and incompetent. This place does not deserve to be called a five-star hotel and the central government has no business running such a place. Will not come back and recommend others to avoid.

The shower in my washroom in room no. 1306 was not functioning and that’s astonishing for a 5 star like the ashok, the wood was chipped off, the room was stinky, no bedside charging outlets, pathetic room service, reception staff and extremely rude guards at the entrance just because I did not tip them while being late for my flight for opening and closing my door and went on to say unnecessary mean things. This is the worst hotel I have been to in my life and I have been to 3 and 4 stars hotel better than this in every manner.

Had just a wow experience with the family here. Everything was just perfect from the rooms, service to food and atmosphere. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Hotel staff and services were real quick and polite. Had 2 buffet meals - Dinner and Breakfast and both had enormous amounts of variety and moreover everything was very delicious. The hotel had all the facilities swimming pool, gaming room, children playing room, gym, spa etc and everything was maintained perfectly. Had an amazing time with the family here and everyone enjoyed it.

Sprawling property and overall well managed for an ITDC hotel. The check in was efficient but do not except a warm friendly invite as one would expect of a 5 star property! The rooms are large and very functional so did serve my needs rather well. The air-conditioning system is super efficient and one would need to turn it up to maintain optimum room temperature. Over no complains as such apart from the service. It could be way better, the staff are polite and will nod their heads for your request, though it shall never be dealt with unless repeatedly reminded. If you are in a rush and need to get things done quickly, not your place at all!

It's a five star hotel, supported by money from the Government. It's spacious. But, before taking the food do not go by what you listen but enquire about it's taste.

Good place but surely needs some renovation. Breakfast spread is good, room service is decent and one of the finest locations you can get in Delhi. Unlike other hotel chains there is a tad bit frequent tipping required here.

Rooms definitely needs a upgrade! Few small things here and there were broken! And the service staff would just take forever to fix them. Rest it was good, close to almost all the important places. Food was good.

Luxurious hotel with much luxurious feels and quality. Each and every detail has the standard maintaining phenomenon. Definitely awesome experience for me. Decent staff members, they used to wish us "Good morning, Good evening" in very genuine way.

It's an absolute pleasure to stay at The Ashok. No words can describe it. It's luxurious. You will feel like royalty. The architecture of the building is also amazing. Beautiful place.

Just the external facade of the hotel does not make you want to enter it, the buildings look old and not maintained. They should really refresh all that. the reception at the entrance is quite big and beautiful with beautiful chandeliers, but still that is not enough

I am rating this property 5 stars for the following three reasons: 1. This hotel has really great staff. They are always willing to help you and go beyond boundaries to keep customers happy. 2. Delicious buffets breakfast they serve every morning. All tastes good, Especially the masala dosa prepared in live breakfast kitchen counter. 3. Great location. Its in the midst of all embassies But not everything here were great. Let me summarize negatives as next. This property is age old and the rooms really ask for upgrades. The appliances in a room are not really qualified for a 5 star hotel. Also, not sure why they still retain, rewash and reuse the years old bath towels. Its high time for a total upgrade for this hotel.

The place has lost its charm . Hotel rooms are old with absolutely no new furniture or decor. The breakfast is one of the most boring morning buffets in a 5 star .

Huge hotel, however very jaded. In urgent need of a makeover. I was in a room in the 5th floor overlooking the entrance. Till 3 am thumping music from the disco kept me awake. After 3.40 am and till 4.15 am the crowd Keating the disco was making so much noise it was impossible to sleep. At breakfast - had to scramble and beg to get a spot to sit and eat. As a Senior Citizen, I will avoid this hotel in the future. I had enormous trouble remaining awake during a business meeting after spending a sleepless night.

Location is great. Property is good. Their service need to improve. Though on most requests they were shown willingness to solve but the simple request of TV could not resolved. The person came very late and he told to come again to resolve which he never visited again. Due to busy schedule i could register Complaint with them but it's not necessary when i have already registered the request.

The Ashoka Hotel is a renowned establishment known for its luxurious accommodations and excellent hospitality. With its central location, it offers easy access to major attractions and business districts. The hotel's elegant ambiance, well-appointed rooms, and top-notch amenities make for a comfortable stay. The dining options are diverse and offer a range of culinary delights. While the Ashoka Hotel is a great choice for a lavish stay, it's recommended to book in advance due to its popularity.

It is antique, it is spacious, however hotel needs to face lift, the bath towels, which are antique too. The intercom didn't work, it needs some serious work to be done. Breakfast spread was good, however they severs coffee in a chipped cup which I had to it changed, this is a strick no no, they get rid of broken plates and cups.

Decent hotel with grandeur which is now being lost to old age. The hotel also doesn't seem to have a customer-first attitude as they failed to provide adequate security to dignitaries that had come and allowed the media to gate crash the event as soon as the officials taking care of the security were not there. The staff also seems to think they are above others as the not only misbehaved with the people organising the event, but also took the food away as soon as the allocated number of food were given out. If the client is paying a huge amount of money to take care of 80+ guests which includes many top celebrities, do you really think they will not pay for 10 more?

The Ashok 5-star hotel offers a luxurious experience with its elegant decor and top-notch amenities. The attentive staff and excellent service contribute to a comfortable stay. However, occasional maintenance issues and high pricing might be considerations for some guests.

This a old charm hotel built in 1952. It does display some traces of antiquity. Plenty of walk ways, you don't need to go for your morning walks. I thick people in the reception and lobby area need to improvise. A little bit of proactive attention goes a long way. House keeping and room service is excellent.

I have travelled to many 7-5 stars in past 10 years. The Taj ,Novotel,Ramada ,Rahejas in Mumbai and Roseatte etc in Delhi. Never ever had such a disappointing experience like yesterday. The tea was not warm,no masala in it (200 rs per cup). The Taj at Mumbai asks for 300 rs,but in a kettle and is very beautifully served, with wonderful taste. Nobody was interested here to serve. Sugar was not there and was not served also. Felt like because I have stepped inside ,they are charging. Did not feel like ordering anything else. Guess what, there was my teacher whom I had invited to this place to meet him, after 7 years . Probably I am giving one star for the ambience.

They do room service twice a day. But cost is higher side as it is 5 star hotel. Breakfast comes as complimentary for most of the room bookings. You can check out till 2 PM as a complimentary, then they will charge. For black n white, you have to pay 37 rupees for single page, it is just 2 rupees outside. You can imagine how cost this hotel is.

well hotel is average not that much impressive as it looks, rooms were good but i found lack of hygieness as i found long red centipede in the bathroom that was completely horrible, hot water is also not working i ask them to fix it but hotel staff can't help it with however they give hot water in bucket that was completely disappointing their prices are high and service are poor i don't blaim hotel staff, i think hotel need renovation and need many changes. if they maintain there things that i would say it may become the best hotels at the end i think there many different hotel which are cheaper then this and giving good hygiene rooms.

Dirty muddy water once in the taps, housekeeping forgets to place even soap or shampoos in the room, single temperature no control AC at all times. These were my experiences. A far cry from being a five star hotel

A govt. run hotel & you know how the staff and management works of any government organisation. In india only 1 or 2 govt organisation are very efficient and effective other than that you will see this type of pics in government funded organizations.

Everything was good. The food and the service was top-notch. However, the wifi was horrible and the hotel room just seemed old. The water took a while to be hot and all the hanger points in the bathroom are not so fixated but rather loose. Plus, most of the time, the water from the shower doesn't go down the drain quickly and ends up flooding the entryway of the bathroom, where the toilet is. I think it is safe to say that the hotel room is more of an antique- type look room than an actual 5 star hotel room

Located in a very prime area, Chanakyapuri, to my surprise this is run ITDC (Indian Tourism Development Corporation). So basically, being a huge hotel, it has it's mandatory positives such as hotel tariffs were comparitively cheaper for such rooms in other star hotels! A suite room costs you around 12-16k depending on additions! But don't dare to have food in the coffee shop restaurant, it's horrible for the price you pay , the rice we had was stale, and curd was kinda tangy which means it's from few days and dal was tasting more like turmeric! Food isn't recommended but rooms are decent for the price you pay in that location!

The Ashok Hotel is a five-star deluxe resort in the diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. This hotel is part of Ashok Group, owned by the India Tourism Development Corporation. Staff is very casual for COVID behaviour, things inside room broken, inadequate. Rooms definitely needs a upgrade! Many things here and there were broken! And the service staff would just take forever to fix them. Poor management need to fix hotel reputation and staff behaviour. Staff misbehaving with you for cheap thinks like room key, Even if you carry a business jacket in your hand here, they treat you wrong. May be the ashok hotel owned by india tourism development corporation so the staff of ashoka have power to misbehaving with guests

Quite old hotel but they have maintained it well. Hotel seems big with more than 150 rooms I guess. Pool side is my favourite place to relax at this property. Their in house bakery has some delicious varieties of cakes. Staff are courteous. Rooms are big and comfortable. My room had good garden view. In-room dining food was delicious. Overall had a comfortable stay.

The Ashok Hotel is one of my most favorite hotels in Delhi. It is very economical with all comfort. Apart from only hotel it is a master piece with blend of heritage of Delhi's historical events organized here. It is very big architecture with big lawn and in-house shops and ATMs. Seating space at reception is very magnificent and fabulous. Restaurant is awesome for food and snacks. I love this hotel very much.

I was this hotel from 20/12/2021 to 22/12/2021. The stay was good. But the staff at the reception is not supportive. At the time of checkout, I paid online, the payment got stuck. So I had to pay in cash. After success full online transaction I request the staff to refund the amount of Rs. 4060/-. The staff is not responding and doing some tricky things to ignore my complaint. Very sad to say that the hotel of such level is compromising with the quality of service and expecting for good reviews from customers.

This is the closest hotel you can get if you are visiting any embassy. Rooms are spacious, service is good but restaurant has limited options and food really needs improvement. Also Wifi wasn't working. So if you need to work from here this might not be the right choice.

Room are not clean ,wooden floor looks Like not cleaned from ages , ac not working in many rooms. Breakfast buffet is good with lot of option Staff is good but the upper management looks like they are not bothered about the guest. It looks decent. The staff is decent. It organises various events related to "Education Abroad". So I went to one of them. The universities present their were mostly from Australia. Education loan facilities were also available there. So if anybody wants to attend such small meets they can check the website of those agencies which send people abroad. The hotel is good but nothing special about the event.

We attended a conference at this prestigious hotel. It is a large well located, maintained property. The food menu, spread , quality was good. The banquet hall was well laid and managed. Wash rooms where well kept too. It's a old property yet kept well. Popular for events. Getting local transport is difficult, one has to rely on cabs and pre book taxi. Lobby us large and houses many small business outlets. For a public (government) managed business its ranked high. At a short distance is the famous sarojini market, a shopping hub.

The Rooms were great but the bathroom not so much they were leaking water if someone takes a shower and the provided slippers were too slippery so that definitely needs to be improved except for that everything else was great especially their services, they were very quick in completing any of our request be it dental kits or extra bath towels they were all delivered within minutes of calling housekeeping never ever have I seen such fast response from any hotel.

One of the first five star hotel in capital. Stands tall and massive. We stayed there for a family wedding. Very humble staff and absolutely dedicated day and night.
