Yuck coffee, yuck food, yuck service. Unhygienic, tacky, and tasteless food. I felt only the name of this place, people are visiting otherwise going there is waste of money time and energy. Please do not visit this place. They are charging good enough to give better food , better service but unfortunately they are not able to give that. Stop visiting this place not worth it. My medu Wada which I ordered was cold and hard felt like they got it from somewhere on street and now they are serving at Their cafe. Special cold coffee with ice cream was just water with one scoop of ice cream on top, veg cutlet was like eating day before potato vegetable. Also servicing was bad as there were coffee around my cutlet. M sorry but it was just horrible by experience visiting this place.

Loved the vibe.. it wasn't very flashy or too much it is just as a cafe should be calm and tasty food. You can bring a book and read In the day peacefully while in the evening it does get crowded the fun never goes away

If you have Grown in Delhi you would have definitely known about this place. If have been to this place so many times that I have even forgotten the count now. I happened to visit this place again after years to relive few of my old memories and got a set back. This place is in state of ICU and will die soon, if not restored.

You go to this place for the absolutely marvellous old school ambience. The coffee, the food, and whatever else you get here is considered an add-on, really. Wonderful place to spend an evening or a winter afternoon sipping on some special coffee or a cold coffee along with plethora of food options that they have. It is almost like, once you enter this place, you enter into a different world altogether. ❤️ Yes, the food and even the cold coffee isn't good, frankly. It is mostly only about the old ambience / experience.

I really appreciate this place for remaining so authentic and unique. The rooftop and ambience makes it a lot special. The food was great but I think that they have scope of improving the prices of their coffees and improving their 'saambhar'.

This place serves the best keema dosa and keema chowmein. The ambience is simple and the staff is quick and very responsive. The best place to grab a quick snack when in CP. They do not serve anything chicken. The only options are veg, egg and mutton. They also have a few beverages to choose from. They have two sitting areas; one is an AC room and the other is without AC. Also, one thing to keep in mind is that it is located on the 2nd floor and you will have to take the stairs to reach there as there is no elevator.

I went to this place with very high expectations. But was little disappointed with the food and overall experience. I know for the fact that it’s an iconic place as it is serving coffee for the last 63 years but over time they haven’t updated themselves. The place itself is so shabby. It needs little bit of renovation and overall ambience can be improved. Not asking to turn this into a cafe like experience but some kind of update to the restaurant can be carried out. Coming to the food. Mutton dosa was up to the mark 4 out 5 Mutton cutlet 3.5 out of 5 Coffee 2.5 out 5 Grilled vegetable and cheese Sandwich 2.5 out 5

Today, we visited here and ordered Hot coffee, Veg cutlet and One egg omlette. This Coffee house is in third floor there is no lift facility. Nice seating area and clam place for everyone. This is one of the oldest coffee house in delhi. Veg cutlet is so tasty and crispy.

The food at this place is economic and the taste is really good. You can have a nice view of Connaught place from the roof adjacent to the dining area. The only place their lacking is the speed of service mostly due to high number of customers otherwise it's really good place to hangout with your family or friends.

Indian House Cafe is located in Connaught Place. There are many options of coffee and breakfast here and it is very famous. That's why everyone visits here. I too had breakfast with my friends two or three times and drank coffee.

This place has a vibe which takes you to the era of old school love. It's peaceful and if you are a kind of person who embraces raw and unexplainable emotions, it's the right place for you. This one place is close to my heart (and budget friendly too) (only place which serves mutton dosa) Each person will connect to this place in their own manner.

I liked this place very much compared to any other coffee shops. They have both outdoor & inside sittings. Situated on busy road of CP. I heard before it was a place mainly for old ages but The best thing i like is that now even though there mostly customers are young generation still they are following their own old culture like the dresses of all waiters their tea cups, water glasses, Dish plates all same like they had started in their early times. People are doing their meetings with clients Now for food review i like their cheese Omelette, mutton cutlets & mainly Mutton keema dosa😋 Special coffee was good but cold coffee can be little better. Waiters behaviour is this much polite that you can't imagine that you are eating in CP So overall everything is good now money vise it's not that costly compared to other cp restaurants As on my last Visit we ordered 1 Mutton keema dosa,1 Butter Masala Dosa, 1 idli, 1Plate Finger Chips, 1Strawberry Shake,1 cold coffee & 1 Special hot coffee &. the total bill i paid for all these was only Rs. 698.

I visited this place for first time after so much hype and honestly I have mix feels. The food was nice, Dosa was crisp, fresh and even coffee and cutlet was good too, price wise as well it was quite decent but building's lift was not working... stairs had running water, vibe is of 90s for sure with a quite old build n the moment u enter you can see it from eyes. So overall I like to rate it 7/10, if u wanna visit then definitely go a check. For more follow Insta- nightryt

I came here after 10 years. Before that I used to come here often. Anyways the ambience has changed, rather downgraded. But the thing that really got me worried was the quality of food that has gone down. Seriously. Still for nostalgia it's a nice place Laid back. But food quality has gone down.

Has a nostalgic feeling of sightly Olden times!!! Ok, for some what economic food even though their prices have been increased by many times... The very unique Mutton Dosa was just Ok, had just namesake mutton. The filling inside was really not good . They could have done a much better job. Also They didn't have many of the items on the menu which was disappointing... Crowd management could have been better, many people were Simply sitting and not ordering anything while we were standing hungry just waiting for an empty table. Very few staff in comparison to amount of crowd pouring in and thus the service was slow and lagging!!!

Amazing place. It's a traditional restaurant to eat your food. Multiple varieties are available there but i recommend that one must try there egg sandwich, dosa & special coffee.. Ambiance is outstanding. Zero noise. One can't imagine that this kind of place exist in Cannaught place. It has it's own charm and traditional taste. Staff is also decent & caring.

The only words which I can say for the place are amazing just the place you would like to visit for a nice cup of coffee with a pocket-friendly bill. Staff is the best their way of interaction the service everything was up to the mark. In simple words, it is a forgotten jewel which we should make famous again as it is located in the heart of Delhi CP.

Food is good with reasonable pricing specially south indian...for those who believe in simplicity and peace...nothing fancy. Also available in shimla and other parts. Simple is not as easy as we think it is. We have been to so many big restaurants, small eateries. But there was no such experience as Indian coffee house. At the first look of the building where it is located, you think to yourself if you are at the right place. This is so rustic, typical Indian look and feelings. Such great hospitality and cooperation of staff. Such simplicity and totally ghar wali feeling, food felt like homemade at such reasonable rates. A Must Visit!!!

Sitting space is really good! If you want to come here and work on weekdays then it is a place for you! Though you won't get charging points! Food is reasonably priced. However, it is not a place for a foodie to explore! Cold coffee, omlette and dosa is quite good. Overall, a good place for a quick bite and definitely a good place if you want to sit quietly and spend your day working on a laptop or reading while enjoying the view.

It is a very soothing place if you want enjoy anything whether it is breakfast lunch or whatever. Butter masala dosa with a cup of expresso coffee is very ultimate combination. In butter masala dosa there you can feel every single spice and love the taste of butter in it. you can also try mutton cutlet it is also of very nice taste. You can hang out here with your friends with your family member or with anyone. Sitting area is quite nice. after having tasty bites you can enjoy the view from terrace. The waiters there is very helpful and the environment they create by their nature and dress is simply too positive. It's a must visit place if you visit cp or having some good amount of breakfast.

It's an iconic place in the main Connaught place of delhi. You'll feel very 1960s & 70s here, which is the speciality of this place. I ordered special coffee for 50rs and mutton dosa for 120. Well coffee was average but mutton dosa is something which can't be missed. It's the best non-veg dosa available in whole of delhi according to my experience. You can also click beautiful photos at roof top of the cafe. It's a place which can't be missed when you are roaming in the inner circle of Connaught place.

They have very bad coffee and cold coffee, the dosa was cooked in mustard oil, and it was very oily. Don't go by the reviews of food bloggers, I don't think so they have anything tasty. If you want food at reasonable price then you can visit, otherwise if you are a taste lover, then you should go somewhere else.

It is a good place to visit to have some vintage feelings. The place is located at second floor which is a bit difficult to reach via stairs. Lift is available but sometimes may not work. The seating is spacious. Food is tasty and at a reasonable price. There is also an open terrace on the same floor which can be used to pass some time. However, you may find some monkeys there who can try to snatch things in your hands.

If I ever want to visit a place again and again for a cup of coffee, then the Indian coffee house is the first one on my list—a cosy spot for coffee and breakfast lovers. This place is exceptionally economical on the pocket. It also caters to all the needs of a fulfilling breakfast (to be enjoyed) with family, with friends, for couples and their taste buds. One may not find the ambience as modern or contemporary, but for one who wants to enjoy the vibes of 50-60s. Rest assured, my overall experience was wholesome and happening.

No customer value and also they don’t want repeat customers, you have to wait long for someone to take your order. If we talk about food it was OK we ordered veg noodles which was like reheated item they have served and one cold coffee which was not at all looking good. Not recommended

I must say it is one of the trusted place and you often find students, teachers, theatre artists, painters and poets having a long chat. Interesting to find it still maintains the traditional dress for the staff. Food is fine with reasonable price. You can keep this as a meeting place in the middle of the city. You must taste coffee and South Indian special breakfast items.

  • 4/5 Dharmesh G. 4 years ago on Google
This place is very economical . I ordered 5 items and all that costed me only 352 rs only. You can avoid the coffee here though the place name is Indian Coffee House. I liked the butter masala dosa and the the egg Chowmein and sandwich were average. But this place has its own charm . The rooftop seating and the traditional dress of the servers gives a nice touch to the place.

A good place which gives a feeling of nostalgia... limited menu but good service. My recent experience with the quality was not good. I tried cutlet (which is most popular here) and potato fries and of course coffee. The loo outside the gate always stinks badly. Please find a table as far as possible from the gate. Earlier there were sitting facilities outside also, which had a much better appeal but now it is removed. You can sit only inside the hall. Mostly crowded and noisy.

An old building with details of old school times to catch up sipping your coffee. Especially in the evenings, you get to see a lot of people chit chatting. A big area to sit n talk it out... The hospitality is good but when it comes to their restrooms, it's eerie n weird. Getting dark vibes while attending natural calls, is not really what you'd want to experience. Overall nothing more than a 3star.

Outside ambience is amazing and especially on full moon or near full moon time. The service of this place is worth trying. Unlike other ICHs, architecture is missing still the space, the debate and great shakes, coffees, juices rock. Really a place worth trying always to have so much fun and food at one go✌️

One of the oldest coffee stop in Delhi even before freedom but things have to change with time and that's the part where it is lacking. Food is good but the place is not so cool. I think they should renovate the place. There is too much place inside the cafe which can be used. The walls are dirty. There is no air-conditioning inside the cafe but a cooler. Other than that everything is fine. Staff members and the waiter were amazing and very polite. Have a good time!

One of the oldest coffee house in Delhi and still they are serving the best food. With low pricing, great tasting dosas and idlis but quite late service. Staff is polite and treat well. This place has a legendary following. Coffee house will give you the feel of 80's even the servers are dressed as 80's server. But you'll definitely love the aura of this place.

I loved it. If you are looking for ambience and modern cafe interiors... This isn't your place.. If you still in love with 90s culture.. And prefer quality in reasonable rates and serenity.. This is your place.

Wow - well that's how you react when you try Dosa, Cold coffee, Cutlet at this iconic place. One shells out many 100s in modern coffee cafes. But at 1/3rd the price this place not only tingles your taste buds, it is a nostalgic walk through the time when scholars social activist and literary luminaries were regulars here. One of the best cold coffee is served here. Staff is very humble, and service is excellent. The place is fighting for survival, if really we think about vocal for local then we should visit this place, try out this place. I LOVED IT... HOPE YOU WILL TOO!!!!!

  • 3/5 Dini W. 3 years ago on Google
I didn't like the coffee even though many people recommended to take at least a cup here. I was actually so excited to try the coffee as I read in many articles this place serves one of the best coffees in India's coffee shop, but it didn't fulfill my expectation. Well, everyone has their preference. I also ordered one plate of omelette with two eggs, but was given two plates instead 😪 I mentioned to have one cup of coffee but was billed for two cups. Luckily, the waiter said sorry and reduce the amount for which I had to pay after that. The waiters were friendly and dressed uniquely unlike the modern coffee shops'. it is placed on the 2nd floor of the building and it has a wide rooftop as well

Taste is ok types. Price is too high. Steel plates are very old. Having black spots showing cheaper quality. Plastic plates are also very cheaper ones. Come here only when u do not have option. Ambience is ok,. Just a brand name, famous one. But really saying taste is not worth. Footpath wala is better or equal

Indian coffee house - Whatever I heard about the place, it turned out to be better than that. They have kept it raw, unchanged, antique and that's the beauty of the place. Right from variety, price, taste and service everything is just WOW. This is a must visit place if you are in delhi. The place is situated in the heart of delhi - Connaught place. If you are coming by metro then take the exit towards gate number 5 and then it's a few metres walk from there. The restaurant is located on the second floor and is opened till 9 pm in night. Dosa and their special coffee is a must try. The place is super cheap and everything is vintage. So what are you waiting for. collect your squad and and reach this place for a delectable experience.

Prices too high for the stuff they're providing... Not even clean n tidy.. late service.. n what not..450 bucks for 4 sub standard coffee and butter bread slice. ! Really really needs improvisation..and can really capitalise on open rooftop.

Some oldies may have emotional attachment to this Old Chain of Restaurants... But I will give an unbiased, apolitical & unapologetic review. The place is just average (not to disappoint the workers). Affordability (Pricing) is the only Silver Lining...We ordered Mutton & Masala Dosas with Coffee.. - Mutton Dosa - 21/2* - Masala Dosa - 1* - Coffee - 21/2* The ambiance is rustic & with old school charm...rating - 2* - Hygiene - 1* - Servicing is quick -4* - Hospitality - 3* Wanted to try Mutton Cutlet & Mutton Omelette.. But the first dishes ordered were disappointment. Recommendations - Only if u r light on ur wallet.. -

The experience was nice, ambience was not good. Rates according to quality and taste of food were not justified. Their other branches like.one in Shimla and Chandigarh offer better facilities, food and ambience. This one was just once visit.

It still has the same old world charm. Food is great and affordable on the pocket. The cleanliness can still be improved. The location is also not very convenient, you have to go 3 floors up to reach the place.

Very chilled out, old charm coffee house with super speedy service. Had french toast, Omelettes and mutton cutlets. None the less it was a good experience 👍

My worst experience especially in CP. It is Indian Coffee house but its just worst. I can make much better coffee then what I get here. Honestly, waste of time and money

  • 3/5 SHUBHAM K. 1 year ago on Google
1st of all its run and manage by coffee plantation workers, so must visit there to support this awesome organization. Now about my experience: Location: at heart of delhi in CP (gate no 7 of Rajiv chowk metro nearest exit from metro. ) Shivaji stadium terminal bus stop is nearest bus stop. Itself it is a land mark so you can easily find it when you move towards Hanuman mandir or Bangla sahib. Now about food : Food was delicious and quality was also good. As it is managed by co operative society so rates are also very affordable in comparison to any vendor/restaurant in CP. About Ambiance: Yes if you want to date your gf/bf here then yes it will not give you vives because cealings are little not good, tables and chairs are not updated. But if your partner truly loves you then he/she will definitely enjoy the place There is also a big terrace open for visitors... Hospitality: All waiters were really supper good, they served food, no extra questions or suggestions. You can also buy coffee powder from here Present price was Rs300/250 gram. Must visit there enough big sitting area

During my visit to this establishment, I decided to order a hot coffee, a veg cutlet. I found a pleasant seating area and a serene atmosphere that was enjoyable for everyone. It's worth mentioning that this coffee house holds a special place in Delhi's history, being one of the oldest in the city. The veg cutlet I tried was exceptionally delicious, boasting a tantalizing combination of flavors and a satisfying crispiness. It truly exceeded my expectations. As for the coffee, it was served piping hot and provided a comforting and invigorating experience. Overall experience at this coffee house was delightful, with its charming ambiance and delectable offerings.

What the hype is all about? Ordered cold coffee and found it to be below avg. A high quantity of water was there. Then spent a few minutes observing others who ordered coffee here, did see only disappointed faces. I'm not sure of the historic importance of this place but I'm definitely not going to visit it again. Only good thing I observed was that they served free drinking water on arrival.

  • 3/5 sonali n. 4 months ago on Google
To be honest, food was below average but it was pocket friendly. Staff totally our existence as we waited long to place order. Order was served at the table without delaying much. But it was retro. It's very old. You can just go there if you don't have any option. The cold coffee was filled with so much of SUGAR. Watery sambhar and coconut chutney. I will not go there again.
