The area is awesome. We were really looking forward to renting a cabin for a few days. However, after leaving a half dozen messages at the number the camp host provided us with, there was no return call so we could make a reservation. Very disappointing, not to mention unprofessional. This system needs work badly.

Beautiful, peaceful park, with a beach, a boat ramp, fishing docks, various shelter houses(*) for different size groups and events. Quiet camping, nice lots with water and electrical hookups, two RR/ shower houses, nice cabins for rent, as well as kayaks, firewood and ice for sale on site. Friendly campground host(s). *Tornado shelter also on site.

Great little spot for a laid back weekend fishing getaway. We stayed in the Lakeview cabin in mid August, which was clean, comfortable, and had great views of the water. There is a microwave, mini fridge, and AC. A shower house is close by too. The campground hosts were friendly and helpful. There is a little dock right out in front of the cabin that was great for fishing. We intended to tie up our little fishing boat there overnight, but the water was down enough that it was not possible. The fishing was great! We caught a ton of bass, a few huge catfish, and one fat 9" bluegill. I would highly recomend this place. I would also recomend making the trip in to Ida Grove to see all the castle architecture and for a visit to Old Town Winery. The owner was so friendly and the wine was great!
