Such a beautiful museum and castle. The staff is friendly at the ticket counter. There is a lot of climbing so make sure you are fit and able. Leave at least 45 minutes for visiting (longer if you are taking lots of photos). You will find white peacocks ! And colorful male ones too. There is a gift shop at the entrance and a small cafe with snacks and drinks inside. The bathrooms facilities are clean. Amazing views of the sea and coastline.

Incredibly nice! That Castle is just a very beautiful and structured Museum with an enormous space… you really need time to experience it in the way you should! Plenty of an outdoor space as well as indoor… Nice and quite detail exposition, really peaceful area with a marvellous view!

Very much worth visiting. Entry is 500try per person which includes the glass museum. Took about 1.5hrs to go throughout the whole castle. Recently renovated and was surprisingly good compared to some other Turkish historical sites we had visited that were in a bit of disrepair

Nice visit and bit of history in amongst the shops and bars/restaurants nearby. Some great shipwreck history focused around the local reef. Probably 1.5-2 hours to visit max. 120 TL to enter when visiting June 2022.

Bodrum Castle is a captivating blend of history and beauty. The well-preserved medieval fortress offers a mesmerizing journey through time, with its impressive architecture and stunning views of the Aegean Sea. The museum inside is a treasure trove of artifacts, adding depth to the experience. A must-visit gem on if you're in Bodrum.

Excellent museum and castle worth the time to visit. Entry is on the western side of the castle, and the visit itself is well organized to visit all parts of the castle in order. As you walk around the ramparts, admire the view of the sea and town, the artefacts from the sea wrecks, and the inscriptions telling the story of the construction of the castle by the Order of St. John. In summer, the museum rooms have air conditioning to give you some respite and toilets are available during the visit. Some rooms have graffiti from the 1500s ... Amazing.

It's a beautiful castle with great views and nice selection of items in the exposition. They had a story and it was easy to gain interest in it. It covers a lot of different eras that this castle has been used. The findings were impressive, especially the shipwrecks and everything rescued from them. There are great views to the sea and the port from the castle. And there is also a peacock! There are two canteens and a bathroom in the castle. The ticket is a bit expensive, roughly 15 euros, but I think it's worth it. A very nice place in Bodrum, worth visiting.

I recommend you to get the muzekart at the entrance, which offers good value for everyone. It is half of the regular price which was 60 TL when we visited. The museum and the collection seemed to me not enough however the castle is great 🏰 The view and the history of the castle is quite interesting, there are enough information boards around that helps you to learn the castle history. And also for interested parties, there are recorded audio additional services. You can have joyful, memorable moments, it is recommended. Please keep in mind to double check the parking, I guess there is no parking available.

It costs 500TL to enter. The ticket is for both the castle and the underwater museum within. The museum is so-so, worth 130TL if you didn't pay for a combined ticket. There's an audio guide available, but unfortunately, the ticket office doesn't advertise this well. I found out from another visitor that she had read about it online and asked for it, so she was given one. She had to exchange a personal ID for it. It's quite poor that the ticket price includes an audioguide, but you're not given it unless you ask for it, but how would you even know? The castle has many different exhibition rooms in the numerous towers and independent buildings within the castle walls. Most are interesting, focused on the many artefacts unearthed from shipwrecks nearby, from centuries ago. The views as you climb the different levels of the castle are spectacular. You can spend about two hours strolling around and reading the many historical findings. A lot of information about the different coats of arms on the castle walls, representing the different inhabitants, I suppose you could call them, which after a while does become a bore. It's worth a visit. 500TL, however, is a bit much. Cafes and toilets inside. Cafe produce sell things for double or triple the prices outside, so you might want to bring your own drinks and snacks. Most exhibition rooms ventilated well.

You should definitely see this place when you visit bodrum. It takes about 2 hours to finish the whole museum. You will be able to see artifacts from the old ages taken out of ship wracks from bottom of the ocean. And there is a real life skeleton of one of the princesses.

Worth the visit castle and underwater are in the same place, so I do recommend to buy the pack of both sites. Took us about 2 hours to see it. Also if you are lucky 🍀 you can see the beautiful peacocks 🦚. Ticket was 30€ per 2 people

If your travels take you to Bodrum, the castle is well worth a visit. Built by the Knights Hospitaller in the 14th century to defend against the Ottoman's, the enormous structure was a multi-national effort and contains four towers: the Italian, German, English, and French. It also houses the museum of underwater archaeology. The views over the Aegean and Bodrum Harbor are magnificent.

This imposing structure, built by the Knights of St. John in the early 15th century, is the most prominent feature of Bodrum. Really interesting to visit. Lots of historical information and displays.

Great experience, way bigger than we initially thought. Definitely worth the visit! 150 TL for a ticket or 1000 TL for 15 day pass that works for almost all of the museums in the country. If you are a Turkish citizen or have an id number it's 60 TL and 30 TL for students for the whole year. I recommend using Museum Card app for buying those since there is usually an huge line during the summer season but there is no need to bother if you are visiting off season since it's pretty empty. There is also an extra section that you have to pay 50 TL, if you plan on visiting that, remember to purchase your extra ticket before entering, i don't know if you can purchase those in the app since there was no line we didn't check.

Great staff and well preserved. It's lots of walking and steps. I recommend very good shoes not flip flops like I did. You don't have to climb every part. One of the most beautiful places I've visited. So many cute little cats and beautiful peacocks. There was no wait and the ticket is well worth the price! There's also toilet facilities, a gift shop and a cafe inside.

Lovely castle and lots to see. The steps are very uneven so wear decent shoes. Keep an eye out for the peacocks wandering around, especially the albino ones, they are beautiful with their white feathers. The displays of the items recovered from local shipwrecks are astounding. Many of the pieces are fully intact and some date back to the 5th century. We spent 2-3 hours there in total.

Nice castle and museum. Not too big and decently sized. Lots of area to take nice pictures. Very organized entry.

The castle itself is a great experience. It would have been nice if they had weapons like swords and armour. Don’t expect too much from the underwater exhibition:

Was there last week for a jazz concert. The atmosphere was wonderful with the backdrop of the castle and the boats from the marina. The concert was outside the castle not within. Toilet facility was easily accessible and clean. It was a fabulous way of enjoying some great music on stage with the fresh ocean breeze.

Not sure why this place gets such rave reviews! Very expensive entry, nearly £50 for 4, including two children (8 and 12). They expect you to pay extra for additional exhibitions, which appear to feature in the photos on Tripadvisor. You pay for headphone guides, but they don't give them to you. Not suitable for children: there's a decent ship but it's not clear if it's a replica, and a few rooms with some Bronze Age artefacts. The biggest highlight were the air conditioning units in a couple of the rooms. I do not recommend.

I'm very happy to have visited this place. Just made me realize that Bodrum was actually antique Halicarnassus, home of the Mausolus tomb - one of the 7 wonders of the antique world. We came for the sunset view, but were pleasantly surprised by the content of the visit. History of the region, population settlements, archeology from the various periods. Nicely divided in the different towers and rooms. Adding more direction signs could help navigating the site but it's not so huge anyway. We enjoyed a lot. Quite worth the time and money!

+ Absolutely worth to visit. It’s open till 23.00. + Underwater archeological exhibitions are also remarkable. + The museum is decorated nice with proper signs. It’s also beautiful at night. You should spend at least 2 hours to visit. - Some items were brought temporarily to Istanbul Airport as stated in the museum. They would have been kept in the Bodrum castle where they belong to.

After seeing so many castles I admit I get cynical, but this is truly a beautiful one! Fantastic views from so many places inside, and be sure to check out the ship that was rebuilt along with all the amphora that they recovered from it

Very big and beautiful castle, full of history. I recommend taking an audioguide. If you're a group, only one audioguide is enough as the sound is loud enough. The path is a bit unclear, we skipped some numbers but found them on our way back. The tour is around 2-3 hours. There are 2 kiosques in the museum and a souvenir shop (which isn't that interesting). Entry is 350 lira and the audioguide 125. Very nice views of the sea and the city, very interesting maquettes of the shipwrecks. Overall, it is a must in the city.

This place is very special, its belongs to a wonder of the ancient world found in modern-day Turkey, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was a tomb built around 350 BC. Sometimes you can enjoy concerts or some performances in this place. This place is absolutely have to be visited during the day and if there is any nice events also at the evening time.

Really interesting castle. So many things to see. many rooms to check out. Keep going until the top, the view is great. You can take many photos. The sunset view is amazing. Pretty quick to get in. Very easy to get to, close to the main town. Everything you can walk to. The Chapel of the castle is pretty interesting. There is a glass floor and you can see an old cemetery below. And some birds walking around

Bodrum Castle is a highlight of the area. More artifacts than you can handle. 15th and 16th century weapons, tools, jewellry, crowns. Statues, tombs, clay pots. Theres whole boat in the basement area and the view at the top is phenomenal and picturesque AF. Wonderful wonderful wonderful.

If you love historical places, you’ll love the Bodrum castle! An insight to an ancient world. Only „negative“ it is definitely not doable for someone that can‘t walk a LOT OF STAIRS and not made for people with needs. Too many slippery stairs but overall we enjoyed the experience and the beautiful view above Bodrum!

A great blend of amazing scenery, history and culture. The castle is right on the marina and offers stunning views out to sea and of Bodrum. You could easily spend most of the day here and there's plenty to see. As others have mentioned the castle grounds are extensive and spread over multiple levels so make sure you wear comfortable footwear. We really enjoyed seeing the different exhibits (the museum is actually spread over the castle grounds and is in several buildings) and learning about the castle's history. The animals around the castle are super cute too! A must see if you're in Bodrum. Final point is you can only pay to enter in Turkish Lira (cash or card) and it works out to roughly £14 per person.

Brilliant day trip, Would definitely recommend. Lots to see along with beautiful scenery. History comes at you from every angle with remains from as far back as 3rd century BC. Turkey is full of history everywhere a must for history buffs

This castle was incredible! It was huge, there's lots to look at. They have lots of information on shipwrecks as well. Lots of stairs and uneven ground so be prepared for that. The views of the harbor are beautiful too. Definitely would recommend coming here!

We went in for the culture and walked out breathless from the stunning views of the sea and the coastline! The contrast between the sandy walls and the blue horizon makes for amazing photos. We were planning on staying 45 minutes, but with all the fun, taking photos and exploring, we spend a good 2 hours inside. We went on Saturday, September 17th. The tickets were 150TL, worth the money. There is a lot of climbing in the sun, so make sure you are dressed in comfy shoes and light clothes. It can get pretty hot on top of some towers. A nice surprise: peacocks!

👍👍 A really good place to see the ruins of old city. Government maintained it really well and you will even find security on the site. The view from top of it is really beautiful, you can see whole bodrum from there. It's not so far from the old castle, you can walk easily here.
