I would say almost as impressive as the Athens museum, which says a lot. They have a terrific inventory of statues and I especially enjoyed the coin exhibits upstairs. It's a very Zen place with a great feel and with the museum card makes it very affordable.

This is the best museum I have been in Turkey. It is a Roman history museum similar to ones in Italy. 4-5 hours can be spent on museum if you like history.

Definitely worth to visit this museum. A lot to see and see how details the statues. Take the red tram from the old town credit card lira 19. Same stop you can down to the beach. Or proceed to walk up main road after museum to take bus lira 19 to the cable car. Definitely worth to go up there. USD 15 for foreigners Local Turkish lira 78 if I am not wrong. Make it an great day out.

The museum is impressive but there is 90% of Greek and Roman history and archeology found in the Turkish territory. The reception is awful they treat you as if you were dumb: no smile and a lot of arrogance. If the tourists made effort to visit and pay for you culture, please be more thankful. Being kind and positive is the first rule of respect.

I was happily surprised by this museum. It has everything from the Stone Age until the Ottoman era. Also gives information about the surrounding cities and their historical significance. Really lovely, interesting artifacts. Amazing statues. Worth seeing.

Excellent museum with detailed displays. I especially loved the elaborate coffins! The little house displays of daily life was charming. And it is the first time I saw a Jesus with wings on the small church display area. Many excellent carved statues too. Definitely it is a must-do place while in Antalya!

Extremely underrated archeology museum with great design and content. Had a wonderful time there without feeling overloaded. Luckily there was some mini concert event inside which made it truly fantastic.

If u have a residence permit in turkey you can get a museum card for 60 Tl which gives u an opportunity to use in different museums Around Turkey for a year. I got the museum card and entered free. My friend had to pay 55 tl for entry. It is beautiful 😍

I think that this museum has to be one of the best I've seen. The cost to enter was 55TL and with audio another 35 TL, an incredible bargain for what you get. I highly recommend the audio otherwise you miss so much information. This museum is laid out very well, lots of exhibits. The sculptures are very impressive and in very good shape, then you have the Sarcophagus that have such detail. 3btraveler

Very nice museum with many exhibits! Wonderful museum collections coming mainly from Perge Ancient City. Worth to stop by at least one hour. The museum is not huge so even if you're not a fan of archeology, you should try it. We visited it after all day on the beach (it's on the way). You can leave your bags in lockers, it is a very comfortable solution. Entrance included in the Museum Pass Turkey.

Such a great surprise! This museum is better and bigger than expected. It has beau told pieces and rooms BUT not enough explanations (even less in English).

This is a great museum with really nice displays. I especially enjoyed all of the statues. The MuzeKart is accepted here and there is an audio guide available. They also have an interactive room for kids. Make sure you have time to visit this place.

A really great museum. Just the right size so as not to feel overloaded. But at the same time really well laid out with very interesting artefacts. I'm not a museum person and i spent 2 hours here and felt sad that i had to leave because they were closing!

Wow! An extremely underrated museum, especially for 55 TL ($4). It has a sizable amount of antiquity artifacts and a gigantic number of Roman artifacts, including hundreds of original statues. And you can touch most of them!!

What very well could be the best museum in all of Turkey for ancient Roman statues 🗿🗽🇹🇷 I'm not exaggerating when I say there are literally hundreds of beautiful handcrafted marble statues in this museum. Maybe not thousands but in the high hundreds for sure hahaha Some really great tombs in here as well as artifacts from all the surrounding area in the Antalyian region. It was crazy cool getting to see the bits and pieces from no less than 20 or 30 different ruins sites that I had been to previously all stashed away in one beautiful well done museum 👏👏👏 Me personally I have to say I was really astonished by the detail in all of these sculptures and artwork pieces. I don't know how much time it would have taken to quarry out the marble, transport it to the artist's workshop, sculpt out said statue and have a finished piece but it has to be in the tens of thousands of hours of pure manual labor. Incredible! If you're even remotely interested in the ancient history of turkey or this area do yourself a massive favor and spend a few hours walking around this bad girl ✊🤩

This Museum has artefacts from the very early period (~6000 BC) to the Roman time. Lots of beautiful statues and tombs from Perge ancient city. At the end there's also a room with ancient coins discovered in the area. As of October 2023 the ticket is about £10 per person.. A bit pricey for this little Museum. If you're touring Turkey and planning to visit more museums it may be worth purchasing the museum pass. Last, cross the street in front of the museum and you'll enjoy a great view of the coast, come in the morning for better photos of the mountains!

One of the best museums I have been so far, you can see statues and sarcophaguses up close and they are organized in a nice way. Definitely worth visiting.

The museum was bigger than it looks on the exterior. Quite big and worth a visit. Lots of sculptures and tombs and artefacts such as pots and jars from various parts of history. We spent about an hour and a half here and the ticket was 200 lira per person.

Breathe taking place, amazing statues before Michelangelos) from 2-3 AD. The audio tour is very interesting and short audios like 1 min for each. But the audio phone’s case is so uncomfortable, if you want to type something, it’s pulls your neck. I think the holder should be from bottom.

Didn't had any expectations when I went but was in love with the status and stories. I do take the audio guides and did learn a lot... was not aware with this rich story! The sarcophagus were beautiful and very well preserved. I recommend. Good activity with the heat outside.

The first stone age rooms are low key and them BAM! You enter the statue zone. The open air exhibit has live peacocks and chickens roaming. I didn't use the audio guide and there were plenty of descriptions in English.

Really amazing for a one time visit Take out 2 hours at least for looking at every sculpture The museum has rich history but only about the Roman period Would have loved to see more of Ottoman but there was hardly any that is why i took one star away If you are a student in Turkey, buy the müze card for 30 or 60 lira and experience all museums/historical sites throughout Turkey with one time payment

It certainly costs the money and time I spent. Maybe without an audio guide the visit would be not so interesting but fortunately the museum has audio guides translated to a lot of language (more than 20, I guess) I paid 35tl for the entrance and 55tl for audio guide.

The museum is a must see. The rich culture of the area is so well explained. Don't forget to carry headphones as you would need the audio to explain to you each segment. Also if you plan well, you could visit the dig sites from Antalya at a driving distance.

The Antalya Archaeology Museum offers an immersive journey through history. It's a treasure trove where you can get up close and personal with intricately crafted statues and awe-inspiring sarcophagi. Be prepared to be captivated for a minimum of 2-3 hours as you explore the exhibits that span centuries. This museum is a must-visit for anyone seeking a deep dive into the rich archaeological heritage of the region.

If you like Roman statues, this is the place to visit. A full display of Anatolia's natural and cultural history through the decades. The only thing that bothered me, was a lack of English descriptions for some of the exhibits.

Maybe the most amazing museum I have seen in Turkey ever. The sculptures are just incredible. A must see in Antalya.

  • 5/5 Threm S. 1 year ago on Google
I visited this museum second times, I came this year again. The historical artifacts are wonderful, the most of them had only reached with a few missing to our present. This Archeological Museum certainly cost to see. Especially, if you love the Ancient History, Archaeology and Mythology, you can see the sculptures, sarcophaguses etc. If you take a book about the Mythology, you can understand and learn the sculptures who they are. Have a nice trip!!!

One word. Fantastic! Amazing collection. Amazing presentation. Great display. The only downside side - the audio was down. I believe if they were offering the audio on my phone I would go with it. Too bad the cashiers are not practiced

One of the best archaeological museums I have ever visited, with the wealth of material from Roman Perge and the items from archaic regional sites being the highlights. The ticket was 200 tl, a standard price for most museums in Turkey. The building is much larger than it appears on the outside, and the visit took me 2 hours.

This place was calm during our visit. It takes you through a travel in time to the different periods. If you have nothing to do, visiting this place is a good idea. Tickets are for 200 TL

  • 5/5 Eliza B. 2 years ago on Google
So many things to see! Perfect place to go to visit when weather is not good. Informative museum, almost everywhere there are translations of exhibitions in English, for extra additional cost you can get voice guide (headphones) to guide you through the museum. There are many halls full of things to see from oldest Stone Age to latest discoveries that are brought from Perge in Antalya. You will find there to see things from the tiniest stone and bone tools to massive sculptures of Ancient Gods or sarcophaguses. Also there are things to see outside too. Tickets cost 55 Turkish Lira.

We went to this museum after seeing the Perge ancient city and it was absolutely stunning! I recommend visiting some ruins around Antalya before going here to see the bigger picture. The only problem is the lack of guidance. No guides or excursions were present in the buildings. There were supposed to be audio guides but they don't work

  • 5/5 Ali G. 9 months ago on Google

An excellent museum. However, it can be better. In the first section, there should be more labels on items. Almost all things were from Perge, the museum is far away from Perge. There may be a map showing which item was found where. We liked this museum, many valuable things together 😇

The museum is located at the end of the tram line - made it easy to get there. If you have the time, it was also a walkable distance away - if you like long walks. I was impressed by the museum. It was nicely laid out, and almost everything was labeled in both Turkish and English.
