(Translated by Google) Following the opening of our museum and ruins after Korona, the first visit we made on 02.06.2020 was Selçuk (Ayasuluk) Castle, the nature regained itself, our small animal friends we met during our visit, accompanied by the enormous views and of course the most important, historical atmosphere. Especially if we think that it is a historical place, which is flooded by crowded visitors under normal conditions, it was a different chance to travel quite comfortably during this Pandemic period. We would like to thank you also. I recommend you to see these unique historical riches of our country, which is an open museum with the re-opening of our museums and ruins. (Translated by Google) The whole family, the largest in the Aegean Region with a group of friends or you can spend a nice time darling of one of the largest zoos in Turkey. I recommend you to wear comfortable and sports shoes. You will walk a lot. Although there is a cafe inside, do not forget to take water and snacks with you. Opportunity to observe all kinds of animals such as Elephant-Goat-Lion-Bear-Snake-Crocodile-Eagle-Chameleon-Giraffe-Horse-Hippo in close proximity to their natural environment. It is not appropriate to confine animals to such environments, but unfortunately, it is not possible to see some animals in a different way.

Excellent place to spend a weekend. Especially great for kids where you will find animals not in cages but roaming freely. Facility is well kept and clean. Entrance fee is about average. You need good weather to visit to make it enjoyable.

(Translated by Google) If we go back to the ancient times of the castle history, it is understood that it was one of the first settlements of Ephesus Antique City especially in 1000s BC. The city was moved to a flat area around the Temple of Artemis after the city of Lydia King Croesus took over. Seljuk Castle, which is known as the crown of Seljuk city, is a castle belonging to Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Constructed using rubble, reused material and brick, the structure was reinforced with 17 towers. Seljuk Castle, which has two main entrances in the east and west directions, was destroyed by earthquakes and wars. Even the castle walls have become a pile of stones. However, as a result of the restoration has taken its current form. When you look at the photos at the entrance of the castle, you can see how the castle was defeated in time. After the castle was taken over by the Turks, it took the name of Ayasuluk and the city on the hill served as a capital during the period of Aydınoğulları Principality. 14th century, joined the Ottoman territory. It is not possible to say that there are many buildings that have survived or been restored. The cistern at the top of Ayasuluk Castle was the eastern part of a basilica during the Byzantine Period. The cistern, which is fed with rain water, meets the water needs of the baths and fountains around it. It is not possible to see anything other than the Kale Mosque, which is not possible to enter with the cistern and seems to be destroyed by the blow. The exact date of the construction of the mosque in the castle is unknown. Because there is no inscription on or around it, but it is believed that it was built by archaeologists in the years when Aydınoğulları Principality took Ayasuluk.

(Translated by Google) We saw the Izmir wildlife park administration building right at the entrance. I congratulate and congratulate everyone who has served here and still continues to serve. I personally saw that such a large area and animal shelters can be kept clean and well-maintained. I am very happy. It is a very peaceful, very quiet place .. We went on weekdays in the morning. We went out without too much crowd. Everywhere was clean. The staff were constantly working non-stop in animal shelters and other areas. You can easily see this much work, this much care in all the shelters and their surroundings and also in animals. You cannot smell any disturbing odor. Again - congratulate and congratulate those who have contributed to their efforts and services. The money they receive and earned is the right of all of them until their last penny. I personally saw what they earned from halal and I was very happy. I personally saw that they did not shy away in any way and did not interrupt their work and everyone did what they should do with feverish work. Thank you again to all employees. It's a shame we traveled so far to visit this place but didn't get to see it. Beware! The fortress is on the same premises as the Basilica of St. John. We used the Museum Pass (for the whole of Turkey) to get in and visited the Basilica. But as we didn't see any sign for the Ayasuluk Fortress, we exited St. John and tried to find a way to visit the Fortress. After wandering for about 40 minutes just seeing the walls and towers of the Fortress afar but not able to gain entry, we finally realized the two sights were connected. We went back to the Basilica entrance again and explained the situation to the lady in charge of ticketing. She held the official line: one pass for one sight ONCE. Well, we knew that. But, dare I ask for better signage for directions? Or a brochure? Or a map, even if it's a B&W copy?

Magical walled and gated citadel with Byzantine (Church of St John), Saljuk, and Ottoman remains. Views from the upper castle are commanding and spectacular; well worth the climb. The walls are the most prominent remains but inside are structures including a ruined mosque, much-visited fragments of a church, large vaulted cisterns, and palace remains. Only suitable for walking; the terrain is uneven and care must be taken. No facilities inside. One ticket gains access to all features.

Plenty of animals, including some of the big five, can all be seen at this zoo. It's probably the cheapest zoo I've ever visited, too - 70p, at the time of writing. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Izmir and have some spare time

I don't know why, but before visiting here I didn't have high hopes for it. It completely shocked me. One of the best wildlife parks/zoos I've ever been to. Stunning surroundings with natural nature and green trees. The animals were all well looked after and had plenty of space as thought they were in their natural habitats. Very well kept and clean. Plenty of toilets situated around the park. 2 cafes to stop for a drink or bite to eat. Would definitely come back again and would recommend to all ages. We had an amazing day out here. 10/10 Adults 20 lira children 10 lira

I think it’s a good place for children and families to spend time together, but when it’s not so hot outside. Because animals are so lazy and sleepy, it’s just hard to find them and see them moving. Also it’s hard to walk for a long time under the sun. So I can recommend to visit park in spring, autumn or winter. The price is 20₺ Also it is really hard to get back from the park, because there are no taxi stations, and bus comes not by the schedule and can just close the doors in front of you😡

(Translated by Google) It is very sad that the mosque is built in the middle of the area where the animals live, not next to the buildings at the entrance. As long as you enter the mosque, let's see which Muslim child will not allow it. There are no buildings that existed before, there are no 1st degree protected areas. If that area belonged to the state, they would have built such a beautiful mosque at the entrance that you would not enter without praying. Personally, I do not prefer to pray in the middle of the garden where the animals stay. If the citizen has not prayed, he / she does not perform prayers while entering or exiting. Also, I did not see any signage or caught my attention.

Ordinary Citadel with spectacular view. 1. It is not the Citadel that is spectacular, but the view. You can overlook 360 of the city of Selcuk. 2. There are places nearby that is worthy to visit, the Basilica of Saint John, Isa Bey Mosque and the Aqueduct. Be sure to visit them before you go up to the citadel or after you visit the Citadel. 3. You can walk up to the Citadel so as to do exercise too :) 4. Anyway, enjoy

Before travelling to Izmir and after reading the reviews we decided to visit the park, although the transportation to that part of Izmir was weak We used ferry to osmanli iskele and from there took a taxi for 75 lira to the zoo The zoo itself was huge and there were so many different animals and habitats, it was amazing There were maps everywhere with nice graphics where you could simply check where you want to go We spent like two hours inside the zoo and since there was no decent restaurants we had to leave to get some food, otherwise we would have stayed more and enjoyed the wildlife

Great place to with kids. The entrance fee is symbolic 10 trl per person. Entrance fee for babies is free. The animal shelters are big and well kept. A great place to spend time with your family. Lots of playgrounds for kids and several cafes inside. Animals are well taken care of, no need to worry about it. The price of entrance is 10 TL, which is 60 cents a The only problem is the transport. It would be best to have your own car. On our way back we took the bus at the closing hour and it was full. In overall I recommend it to everyone visiting İzmir, you will enjoy it for sure!

If you visit early in the morning, it is a quiet relaxing place where you can see different animals in their natural environment like cages. You can have a simple breakfast at the Cafe, watching the swans and ducks. Or you can eat your packed breakfast anywhere in the park. At around 11:30 it starts getting crowded and around 12:00 latest you should be leaving because it gets insanely crowded and it becomes impossible to have fun while trying to maintain your social distance.

Beautiful park . Love the area - I am also from Izmir 👍🙏🤩 Spread over 425,000 square meters of area, this zoo was established in 2008 by Izmir Municipality. Surrounded by beautiful trees and a pleasing pond, this park is an amazing picnic spot for kids as well as adults. Birds, tropical animals and rare flora make it an alluring site. The animals aren’t caged like any other zoo and the park has a free-roaming area which is home to over 1500 animals of 120 different species. The variety of animals found are: Birds of prey and birds from the forests of Africa, Giraffes, Zebras, Hippopotamus and Ostriches, Camels, red Deer, Gazelle and Elephants, Bears, Wolfs, Hyena, Monkeys, Tigers and Lions and the tropical centre which features Crocodiles, Insects and Snakes.

(Translated by Google) We went on the weekend, the semester we went was full of schools. more than it coincided with when he went on a trip it was crowded. So the ticket queue was a little long and there was a lot of noise when we got inside. I recommend going when it first opens in the morning, we went in at exactly 12, it was extremely hot. Unfortunately, we did not see some of the animals. There is a fountain, WC or something in between, but in the simplest way, things like water and beverage vending machines. or small kiosks. spring or because autumn is better to go I'm thinking.

Green place, large area. Animals are kept in good conditions, look good, clean. It's very pleasant to walk. There is an air base nearby. It’s bad that helicopters and planes fly over animals, it can be noisy. Large, free parking nearby. Instead of a ticket, they give a token, it's environmentally friendly. Also, you can pay for the entrance Izmircard. Plan to spend about three hours or more here.

Nice place to visit if you like zoos. It’s clean. Entrance is cheap, less than €1 at the time for adults. Small children can enter free of charge. Lots of animals. There is a friendly atmosphere . Our kids had a great day

We have come here several times and it has beautiful landscaping, enough shaded areas in the summer to make walking enjoyable and the ice cream at the cafe is really good. The entrance fee is inexpensive and you can pay with your public transportation card. There are plenty of restrooms around the park. I am thankful for this nice natural area so close to the city and accessible by public transportation. Bus number 777 from near the Karşıyaka ferry station takes you directly to the zoo. The animals seem sad, hot and tired in the summer and as mentioned in many posts, the mosquitos ate my son alive. I would recommend going in any season but summer.

Nice for kids. It is far away from izmir. The area of this zoo is quite big and you feel it as natural. The price for two adults and one child was 19 Turkish lira. I visited the zoo on winter season which may affected on animals activities inside. There is a nice place for birds living inside a big net. There is also a tropical area which simulating the tropical environment for animals and trees but becareful while entering this area due to high humidity inside and may creat side effect to whom has nose allergies issues. There is a coffee inside providing coffees and teas. The employees here are very friendly and cooperative.

Nice park. But walking ways are to bad. You must take sun cream because on the walk way there is nothing protect youn from the sun. Cafen near the entrance is not sufficcent and always crowded. its to hard to find sitting place. There is not a lot of choice to buy something. For example there is no icecream.Good place for children. Entrance fee is cheap.

Izmir wildlife park is a must see especially if you are visiting the city with children. From the central sea front, it is possible to get here via ferry and bus or by hiring a taxi at approximately 150 lira each way. The taxis from town tend to wait for you. Equally, if you ask the staff at the park, they can call a taxi for you. The peacocks roam the park and you can get quite close to them. There are a good selection of animals, including savannah animals. You'll also find a reptile park. No regrets coming here. Be aware that the food is not great in the park but cold drinks are readily available.

It really is amazing to be able to visit a number of animals other than in small cages. Elephants, wolfs, even giraffes have decent area to wander around (here being a park). Kids repeatedly asked how giraffes could run in slow motion :) Entrance fee is small, and you can use the local city card just like getting on a bus. We especially loved the experience of the lemurs (maki) playing with each other, messing around. There of course is a Cafe and a buffet in the premises, WC etc. All in all you would have good time and fun.

The wildlife park is well set out with lot of variety of animals to see. The reptile house is separate. A nice cafe at the zoo's entrance. Best to go when it is cooler as there isnt a lot of shade. And when we visited the weather was hot.

The birds section was very nice as a concept; but there is no bird left in this section. We saw 3-4 different kinds of birds. We didn't even see any monkeys in the monkey section. However, the precious creatures we saw made such a visit very pleasant.

Kids will enjoy the place. Some boards were misplaced, like instead of rabbit, the rabbit cage had a board of Guinea pig. Its not too big, can spend 4 to 5hours easily.

A very good place to spend the afternoon/day. A great variety of animals. Birds, reptiles, lions, and many other wild and domesticated animals. The place is very clean and maintained in top quality with the staff. The zoo is mostly crowded during noon and afternoon. The entrance pricea are very affordable (10 TL) for normal ticket and 50% for students. Reaching the place can be either with car or with bus from Çiğli bus station (every 30min). All in all, it a very good place to visit.

Excellent zoo. They provide a lot of open space for the animal plus seating areas and playgrounds (i counted at least 4 play areas) for the children. Very nominal 10tl (adult) and 5 tl (children) entrance fee. Easily accessible via car or the 777 bus from karşıyaka or Bostanlı (15-20 mins ride). Worthwhile if you are in izmir with children

(Translated by Google) It is a very nice place in Sasalı. This is a rather large area where animals are kept in large areas rather than a zoo. Eshot is passing. The entrance fee is very cheap, if you want, you can enter with Izmirimkart. You pay 5tl for student, 10tl for full. You can also visit the park without getting lost with the 'Sasalı Wildlife Park' application. If you want, you can find your direction with the map signs on the various sides of the park. There is a toilet, cafeteria and children's playground. Its central location is good, those who go to İzmir should definitely visit it. I advise. Tavsiye ederim.

Large park for taking in the wildlife and natural setting. Nicely landscaped and organized with good walking paths, benches and fresh cold water along the way. Animals appear healthy and content. Such an affordable fun half day! Nice snack bar with great ice cream too.

We really enjoyed the zoo. You can pay at the entrance with a contactless card (adults 20 liras), children under 6 years old are free. The animals are in spacious enclosures. The park itself is very beautiful, lots of trees and bushes. I liked the elephant family the most.

😠 This is not the Birds Paradise. There is nothing in there, just some industrial buildings in the middle of nowhere. This should be deleted, so that people are not misled as I was. The actual place is around 5-6 km from there.
