The location itself is quite in the middle of nowhere, but we might argue that's the point of it! The castle is more like a big mansion than a castle in its looks. The rooms are uniquely decorated, each of them is different from another, and all having their own charme. The place is surrounded by a quiet aura, which makes it perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. The castle hosts 1 bistro, 1 michelin star restaurant, a cafe, a huge garden and it's not far from the seaside either so that makes it perfect for having everything in one place.

Do read about the history of Mary Queen of Scots' third husband, the earl of Bothwell, who was imprisoned here for 5 years till his death. And have a look at his grave in the side chapel of nearby Fårevejle church (4 km away).

Wonderful place ! Well-preserved and exquisite. There's no TV in my room.

Excellent food at the restaurant, the hotel service and room quality was a poor expereince especially when paying a premium rate.

The grounds and building were neat, and I would recommend a day trip if 13th century castles are your thing. I didn’t have the breakfast myself, but my girlfriend said it was a traditional danish spread, but fairly mediocre. Room was small, cramped and musty. Food at both restaurants was far below what I expected at the Michelin stared kitchen and just plain bad at the general hotel restaurant. Staff there feel the need to remind you constantly the restaurant is in the Michelin guide and that the hotel is part of Relais & Chateux. If you do go, make sure you have your own car. Not much in the area and you’ll be able to leave early when you’ve had your fill after a day. This place is anything but luxury - would not recommend.

A fascinating historic castle in a beautiful landscape in the North Vest of Seeland, Denmark. We had a relaxing and enriching stay. The long history of the building is present everywhere. Staffe and service met us in the best manner. We felt truly welcome.

Dragsholm never disappoints. Unless the temperature outside is hot! The history, countryside, cuisine and quaint quarters make the hotel a special place. The staff is always courteous and aims to please. The farm to fork food is accompanied by an array of varying edible flower pedals, sprigs, and leaves in a style well popularized in Danish cuisine culture by the famous Noma restaurant. Take advantage of the bikes and ride to the fjord or venture the countryside through fields of wheat, potatoes, corn, and barley. In late August and September, there are large bushes of mature blackberries ripe for a snack on a bike ride or walk. I’ve been to Dragsholm four times over the years and would never hesitate to visit again.

We’ve been all over the world and this place for = the most peace, quiet, and serenity we’ve experienced. No wonder the original builders chose this spot. We enjoyed the cool weather + the amazing restaurant. Even the breakfast was top tier. The staff was helpful, informational, kind, and respectful. We dream of staying again in the future.

I booked this stay as a birthday present for my wife, primarily for the gourmet dinner. We both agreed that it was one of the best, if not the best menu we have ever been served. As for the hotel room itself, there was little to complain about; the room was spacious and had the classic castle feel we were looking for, and the huge bathtub was a plus.

Nice place, overpriced... We where there for lunch and got 1 glass of bubbles, 2 causes serving (the menu) each and shared one beer = 1135.- DKK Friendly staff

Dragsholm is an amazing place in many ways. The landscape, the buildings, the food, the vision and the atmosphere. However the room we stayed in (114) needs a renovation as it seem very run down. The experience in the Bistro was dominated by a somewhat arrogant service, the dishes was very small and the wine portion served by glas was very small compared with the prize.

Was greeted by a wonderful man who made the check-in process very easy. We were upgraded to the bridal suite and is was very appreciated! However the bathroom floor was dirty and there were discolourations in the grout in the shower. Other than that the room was impeccable! A small drawback was the lack of soudproofing. We could clearly hear people walking outside our room and on the floor above us in the middle of the night. And although i realize that it is an old castle, the stairs were very difficult to walk in. Especially with luggage.

We had a meal in the gourmet restaurant. The wine waiter missing on one occasion which wine I had in the glass and gave the wrong wine. Shouldn't be expected at michellin restaurant. The main waiter at the bistro was telling about the food but without much enthusiasm - maybe he just had to much to do. The difference to the gourmet restaurant was very big. The prices of the wines in the gourmet restaurant is kind of crazy so no wonder that we did do the wine menu - but maybe that was the idea all the time. Som of the different common rooms are a bit run down. Actually better light could make the rooms a lot more comfy. The newly renovated rooms Godsværelse are nice. It isn't that easy to get an understanding of the rooms at the castle itself. The maps given for walking the surrounding are simply to poor quality. It is so easy to make it better. You could indicate a route going more directly to Vejrhøj from the coast. The winery is great to visit - and we did so.

Amazing food at the bistro with the same quality that spills over from the Michelin starred restaurant experience. Focus on local ingredients & the grounds are beautiful for a walk afterwards (there’s even a small vineyard). Staff was lovely!!

Our stay was my gift to my husband for his 70th birthday. We enjoyed every little bit of our stay from the warm welcome to the equally warm farewell. The dinner at the gourmet restaurant was out of this world, my husband enjoyed the wine menu, and I was impressed with the non-alcoholic drinks menu offered. We were extremely happy with our stay at Dragsholm Castle.

Really charming castle stay. The room and the other castle rooms were cozy and clean with a romantic interior style true to the castle. The breakfast was excellent. Our room did not have a TV

Absolutely lovely chateaux! All of the staff is competent and hospitable, we were received and served with kindness and professionalism. The food is amazing! We are taking home the memories of a beautiful dinner with local produce and great wine pairings. I recommend going for the gourmet and sleeping, it's a beautiful and memorable experience that I will remember with fondness.

We had an amazing stay at Dragsholm Slot - the Season Deal, with dinner at the Bistro and everything was perfect! We will be back soon!

The reception did not inform about the big difference of the rooms. Our two rooms were very small with 3 beds in one.. Looking at the big rooms on the first floor.

great place and environment. slow walking distance to the beach. great food and great service. we just stopped by with two and our dog. got a very nice room outside the castle and a 3-course menu. we liked it so much we wanted to stay another night. however, that initiative fell short as the concierge said ‘we only do one room in the entire hotel that allows dogs’ ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! bummer. they prefer to leave rooms unoccupied before they allow a dog over night. not the warm welcome I know from ‘Relais&Chateaux’

Everything was fine except this: Before arriving we send an email regarding food allergies and received a confirmation from the staff. Upon arriving at the Bistro for dinner, the waiter asked if I considered scallop as a part of the "shellfish group" , since I had written I´m allergic to shellfish. This was one option for the starter. I felt uncomfortable answering this, when I had already informed about my shellfish allergy. Then two starters were served - one was raw carrots, which clearly also was on my allergy list. The other one was chickpeas - also on my list. I mentioned this, and the waiter left for a minute. came back and said I had not listed chickpeas. Felt entirely stupid again. I have later re-read my list, and it is clearly stated. All in all - the waiter was joking a lot about my allergies " I do not wish to call an ambulance" etc. And at the same time serving the no- go food for me. On top of that, he was extremely "invasive" when he handled the plates. Suddenly the plate would be placed on the table, out of no where, with a high noise, while I was in the middle of a conversation with my partner. No gentle "there you go". The waiter seemed stressed and the entire evening was not relaxed for me at all. And I only blame the lack of communication - and misinformation and questioning me about what I considered a shellfish or not, the no - go food etc - on the the waiter. To be honest, I think this was the most stressfull meal I´ve ever had. Too many mistakes with food that potentially could send me straight to the emergency.I would have expected more from a five star stay.

It was a really good stay. Fantastic room at the castle and the food was something very special. My husband and I do not drink, and they remembered this and offered us an alternative to the wine menu that was included. They were very sweet and, present and helpful

The historic atmosphere situated in one of the most beautiful Danish landscapes creates the perfect surroundings for the incredible and stunning service and dinner that Dragsholm Slot delivers. We had the most luxurious, relaxing stay at Dragsholm Slot and we are definitely back for more.

Had a fantastic time visiting with a toddler. The food is fantastic, we got the 3 course dinner and breakfast. Service was excellent and they were kind enough to accommodate the needs of my toddler as well. The rooms were good, we got the on a higher floor at the castle, not ideal if you have bad knees as the stairs are steep. The view is nice around the castle, might be good to have map included in the welcome package but otherwise it was also not difficult to figure it out. You have access to everything inside the castle, maybe just missing is an activity area for small kids, but I guess they are not part of their target market. Overall, great experience!

It was fun to try and stay one night at a proper castle, our first time ever to do so, but definitely not the last time. The room was nice and charming, we felt very welcome with the prepared sweet strawberries waiting for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary as a married couple there and in fact the whole castle is filled with historic ambience from its previous noble owners through many generations. The bistros food was also delicious and the service excellent. However, we missed a little fridge or mini bar in the room, though.

We booked one night as we were to visit local vineyards in the area. This place is beautiful, calm, a perfect gate away. Every second was perfect. The sunset, the garden/ park. You can even see how this place affects the guests. Everyone had this calm, friendly face. ( polite in a very good way) THE FOOD: we booked a stay with three meals but we had eight to almost 10 servings. Local products even the wine:-) The food was highly presented and tasted so delicious. The Gourmet restaurant was closed but the Bistro one of the best dishes i have ever tasted. The ROOM: we enjoyed our stay. Love the bed ( Hästens bed - swedish design known for handmade beds) The room was perfect. A bit cold but cozy.
