A lot of love and care went into this restaurant. You can tell from the moment you step onto their beautiful outdoor terrace. They have cute fairy lights, lit candles, an impeccable aesthetic, and the staff are all smiles! Food-wise, everything was great. If you're reading this, you *must* try the insalata di mare. It was a stand out dish – Perfectly balanced seafood flavors, very good olive oil used, and a hint of spice from the red onions. My main was the octopus. Excellent all around, had a great accompanying sauce, and the little cherry tomatoes were absolutely bursting with flavor. I can't recommend Gente enough if you're in the area. Personally i'm looking forward to coming back 👌🏼

Did not know I had to fly to Bali to have super, delicate yet uncomplicated Italian food. 5 Star Performance from service, being greeted by the owner, food (including enough and super nice vegan options, to finally a decent wine menu and lush and stylish ambience. Looking forward to next time

Numerous highlights. The Zuppetta di Calamaretti is delightful; this squid bisque marries rustic charm with rich, authentic flavors, making for a hearty dish. The octopus is a visual marvel, the two tails intertwine in a symmetrical embrace—it’s a captivating aesthetic. Finally, opt for the ravioli with shrimp and stracciatella; it is as good as you expect. Don’t forget to ask for bread to savor the sauce afterwards. That said, there’s room for more impactful and punchy flavours at times. The swordfish carpaccio, for instance, is visually impressive but could benefit from added vibrancy or a citrus touch.

Authentic Italian cuisine made with the freshest seafood! The service was impeccable, ambience was cozy and price point was very reasonable. Everything about this place sat right with us. We’ll definitely be back the next time we visit Canggu!

This is one of the most thoughtful Italian places in Bali. Delicately prepared food: no excess of sauces, with love for details. Delicate Parmigiana (120,000 IDR), a great non-overloaded vegan pasta. Thanks to the chef for his passion for work. I want to repeat this experience. Restaurant also has a great subtly romantic atmosphere for dates. Average check: 300000 IDR per person

Gente, the people palace, what an impactful dining experience! Love the ambiance, it’s that romantic ambiance combined with modern expressionism feelings. Love their dishes, including the Polpo alla Alvin (octopus dish) which has really soft tentacles, their Barramundi is also excellent, Catalana di gamberi (prawns and potatoes) is a solid choice as well. Their use of tomatoes and seafood can be seen across their menu.

If you are looking for the very best seafood Italian restaurant in Bali I highly recommend GENTE RESTAURANT in Canggu. This place is perfect both in terms of beauty, location, food and people working there. I had an amazing carpaccio and delicious seafood pastas! People are very professional, smiling and kind. The food is very good quality compare to other place I have been to! Here you can come eye blinded the food really is amazing ! And if you are craving dessert : the tiramisu was amazing !! This is one of my favorite place in Canggu ❤️

Perfect Italian food: authentic, innovative, looks pretty and super delicious! Apart from the food, I love also the interior design especially the open kitchen. You can just sit at the bar and enjoy watching the chef preparing the food. Will definitely come back and highly recommend! Recommend for dates, friends and family and those who love Italian foods.

A friend of mine told me about this new Italian restaurant because he knows I love Italian food. So we went there yesterday with my girlfriend and it was a great surprise. Everything is sober, beautiful and good. I loved the raviolis and felt like I was eating a real Tiramitsu for the first time in my life. If you like Italian food then I highly recommend this restaurant.

New Italian restaurant in Berawa. We drive by the night before and it just looked very inviting from the outside, great curb appeal with the nice front porch and green color scheme. Came back the next night and it did not disappoint. Started with a long Island Ice tea which was in special 2 for 1. It was ok, nothing to write home about. The hostess recommended the watermelon martini but unfortunately I don't like Martinis. The food made up for this. Both appetizers the bisque and the seafood were realy good, flavourful but yet subtle. One suggestion would be to have more bread to dip into the bisque and to not toast it too much so it can soak it up more easily, minor point. We each ordered the pasta and they were cooked very well, though it's have to say the flavors of the appetizers were better. Still very good but next time I could just dine on the appetizers alone and be satisfied. The decor and atmosphere inside was as inviting as the curb appeal, we found out the owners are designers by trade so it makes sense. It's not too pricey but also not cheap but the food is good so if come back from time to time.

Fantastic food paired with excellent service. The ever-present owner is incredibly friendly. While the portions might be on the smaller side, they're packed with flavor. Their margaritas are not only delicious but also generously alcoholic. Definitely worth a visit!

The owner is the best, going up and down to each table to check if it is all good. The food is fUntastic. The interiors are well designed by him! The orecchiette are so good. Gente is an amazing place for who wants to have a good quality of food and wine. Enjoy guys

Enjoyed every bit of the experience, ambience, food, and evening at Gente! one of Bali's hidden gems. The espresso martini was light and delicious to start with. Food was scrumptious - the tuna tartare pairing was beautifully done, and the polpo was evenly grilled; probably one of my favourites of all times. And the tiramisu was a lovely finish. There was also live music. The owner Giordano was ever-present and I think he built Gente wonderfully. And Nadia, such a lovely host too! For the pleasant evening - grazie mille! I'll be back soon 😊

Ver authentic Italian restaurant with great atmosphere, tasty food and warm service. Everything what we order was amazing: Seafood salad, Ravioli with Prawns, Octopus with asparagus, prawns with baby potatoes were delicious. Tiramisu was outstanding, such a great balance of flavors. Apperol shptirz was nice and owner offered us digestive drinks in the end which was very nice. The owner is Italian, very welcoming person and manages all processes in restaurant which make service and food outstanding.

I was about to check this restaurant, wondering why it has 5 stars. After eating sea food dish and octopus, I wasn’t surprised, I had to taste more. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. Hospitality of the owner add chery on a cake. I REALLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes sea food and Italian cousine 😍🤌

Unplanned dinner at Gente but oh my God We were glad We found this place. Food were AMAZING, We ordered sword fish carpaccio, barramundi, the octopus and pasta of the month.. oh boy not to exaggerate this but it was DELICIOUS. Barramundi and the octopus cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned as well. The pasta was a bit undercooked to our liking but they sorted it out right away. To top our experience they gave us Tiramisu and arak.. type of tiramisu you don’t feel heavy after eating it (im not saying i will eat more than 3 portions but who knows). Oh they are also have small but good selection of wine.. Still thinking about the baramundi while writing this review Service 10/10 Ambience 10/10 Food 10/10

Great dinner. The place is nice and tidy. The food is exceptional, proper Italian 🇮🇹 taste. We had the Parmigiana, octopus, ceviche and the ravioli. It was enough for two of us, as the servings are fine dining sizes.

Offer authentic Italian seafood menu and perfect pairing with an Italian white wine. I must admit that my experience was a mixed bag. The interior design was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening, with tasteful and inviting décor that made for a pleasant atmosphere. The toilet facilities were also clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, the food did not quite live up to the ambiance. The dishes we tried, particularly the pastas, were underwhelming and seemed to lack the love and attention one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The use of flavor balls in some dishes felt unnecessary and did not contribute positively to the overall taste. Additionally, the food seemed to be lacking in seasoning, with some dishes in desperate need of salt. The staff interactions were somewhat awkward, which made it difficult to feel completely comfortable during our meal. Despite this, I must give credit where it's due – the drinks were quite good. Although there was only one red wine option available, it was enjoyable and complemented the meal nicely. Unfortunately, after the main course, we did not feel inclined to stay for dessert. In summary, while the restaurant boasts an impressive interior design and decent drinks, the food and service left much to be desired. With some improvements in these areas, this establishment has the potential to offer a truly memorable dining experience in Bali.

Lovely spot, staff are great, loved the open kitchen concept! love the art on the wall, the barramundi steak is delicious loved the citron sauce a lot! The owner is lovely and caring! Overall recommended! Portions are ok but could be a bit bigger! I would be back for sure 🤍

This has got to be the best restaraunt in Canggu! The service and staff were amazing and the owner of the restaraunt is so lovely! My husband and I ordered the seafood spaghetti and got both the vanilla and chocolate gelato. These were easily the best foods we've had in the entire week of eating out 3X a day here! The owner also gave us two shots on the house! HIGHLY recommend this restaraunt!! So so delicious! 😍
