Bali
was
my
first
solo
trip
and
I
wanted
it
to
be
a
self-discovery
journey.
I
also
wanted
it
to
start
with
my
new
passion:
surfing.
I
wanted
to
improve
my
surf
skills,
but
also
find
a
place
that
would
allow
me
to
connect
with
the
local
culture
and
my
inner
self.
I
searched
for
the
best
surf
camps
in
Bali
and
solid
surf
camp
as
one
of
the
top
options.
I
compared
them
all,
and
Solid
seemed
to
offer
the
most
authentic
and
affordable
experience.
I
was
a
bit
skeptical
because
the
online
photos
were
not
very
impressive,
but
they
say
the
best
surprises
are
the
ones
you
don't
see
coming.
The
surf
camp
is
amazing
and
the
pictures
don’t
live
up
to
it
to
be
honest.
From
the
start,
I
felt
welcomed
and
supported
by
the
local
manager,
Thomas.
He
was
very
helpful,
quick
and
friendly.
He
answered
all
my
questions
via
whatsapp
promptly
and
thoroughly
and
trust
me,
I
had
many.
When
I
got
there,
I
was
amazed
by
the
surf
camp.
It
was
clean
and
cozy,
like
a
home
away
from
home.
There
were
also
three
cute
dogs
that
looked
like
they
belonged
to
the
house
but
in
the
end
I
found
out
they
just
came
everyday
for
the
food
haha
Every
morning,
they
would
prepare
our
breakfast,
one
by
one.
We
had
to
choose
the
day
before
from
a
selection
of
pancakes
with
banana,
rice
with
veggies,
noodles
with
veggies,
fruit
plate
or
omelet.
The
pancakes
were
the
best
I
ever
had,
honestly.
That
was
the
beginning
of
my
journey,
with
pancakes
and
coconut
water.
Then
every
day,
they
would
take
us
to
a
different
beach
for
our
surf
class,
depending
on
the
conditions.
The
instructors
were
super
cool
and
relaxed.
I
will
always
remember
how
they
would
stop
the
car
in
the
middle
of
the
traffic
to
buy
fried
bananas
and
share
them
with
us.
A
real
local
experience.
In
the
water,
I
faced
many
fears.
Even
though
I
am
slim,
I
have
asthma
and
not
very
athletic,
so
sometimes
paddling
out
was
a
challenge
and
I
struggled
a
lot
to
cross
the
white
waves.
The
instructors
would
always
reassure
me
and
assist
me.
A
big
thank
you
to
Rahul!
There
was
also
a
photographer
capturing
our
moments
every
lesson
and
that
was
very
cool!
The
staff
at
the
surf
camp
was
super
nice
and
friendly.
Every
day,
there
were
activities
at
the
surf
camp...
movie
night,
barbecue
(delicious
btw,
don't
miss
it!!!),
beer-pong...
you
name
it.
And
there
was
a
great
vibe
in
the
camp
-
we
were
not
too
many
-
which
meant
that
everyone
knew
each
other
and
we
would
do
a
lot
of
things
together.
I
was
a
bit
worried
that
the
people
would
be
too
young
because
I
am
in
my
early
30s,
but
actually
there
were
a
lot
of
people
in
the
same
age
range.
I
think
the
fact
that
it's
not
that
cheap
filters
out
the
very
young
people
and
I
preferred
that.
Anyway,
they
were
all
super
nice,
regardless
of
the
age.
Bali
is
a
magical
place
and
everyone
seems
to
be
on
truth
seeking
journey.
I
met
so
many
interesting
people
in
that
camp
that
shared
so
much
with
me.
Thomas,
the
owner,
besides
being
a
very
fun
and
open
person,
is
also
very
inspiring
and
encouraging
of
other
people
pursuing
their
dreams.
It's
amazing
to
meet
people
like
that
and
be
in
an
environment
that
supports
it.
Thanks
to
the
people
I
met
at
the
camp,
I
shaped
the
rest
of
my
trip
in
Bali
visiting
Ubud,
Gili
islands,
Ulwatu,
etc.
But
I
came
back
to
Solid
Surf
Camp
to
end
my
trip
and
to
close
my
journey
with
the
same
energy
that
it
started
with.
Thank
you
and
hope
to
sea
ya
soon!
