Absolutely the best Japanese restaurant in DFW area. This restaurant looks so unassuming from outside but once you get in, you feel like being in Japan. The food is so amazing. It is an interesting combination of Japanese and Italian. Every dish is great. The seafood is so fresh. Remember to reserve two months in advance. What a special restaurant! Will come back again and again!

Fantastic Sushi restaurant....one of my favorite for authentic, fresh and high end sushi. They have a long wait for reservations, but worth the wait. Due to Covid their seating is very limited. Call ahead and get a reservation, you won’t regret it. The beef roll and trout sashimi are too die for. The service was very friendly, the chef made incredible suggestions, the waitress was super efficient and the food was reasonably priced for the quality of fish/ingredients. A meal like this at Nobu would have been twice the price with perhaps lesser quality ingredients. The portions are very generous and filling. A must try place if you are a sushi 🍣 fan.

Once you go to Keiichi, you basically won't trust anyone else to give this kind of quality, authentic sushi anywhere else. This isn't your typical sushi joint, either. Even sushi chefs from Dallas come to Denton to eat here. It's a hole-in-the-wall, easily overlooked sushi restaurant right off the Denton Square, and he just recently put out a sign to advertise his long-time business location. Book in advance! Only open Wed-Sat I think and only takes reservations by phone. Keiichi (the owner's name) is the only sushi chef there and cooks right in front of you. The prices aren't cheap but I've never been more satisfied about spending $75-100 per person at any restaurant, ever, and gladly give up my wallet to eat his sushi. My all time favorites are the beef and jalepeno cream cheese rolls (OMGGG), beef tataki, and any of the sashimi plates. My husband and I did the "chefs special" on a special occasion and got to try many of his incredibly fresh and delicious sashimi (that I probably normally wouldn't have the courage to order) and it was so worth it — definitely expanded my palette to develop a new love of sushi. But I don't really trust eating sashimi / raw fish anywhere else because I know his fish is top notch quality. It's such a treat coming here every time. Also it's pretty casual and not a fancy place, so all are welcome.

Reservations only! And sometimes he's booked up six months in advance. Well worth the wait, one of the only places in DFW that serves fresh, never been frozen seafood. His award winning Italian dishes are also not to be missed. If you want THE experience, order Omakase and he will make you plate after plate of delicious food until you say stop!

Keiichi is by far the best restaurant in Denton. It is always worth the wait. The owners + staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is consistently creative, gorgeous, and delicious. I literally have dreams about the squid sashimi and sea trout. They serve pasta and INCREDIBLE steak. Also they have a bidet? When I talk about why I live in Denton I always mention this place.

WARNING: eating here will ruin sushi for you anywhere else you go. By far the best Sushi restaurant I have been to in TX and probably one of the best I have been to anywhere. So unbelievably fresh, staff is amazing. Sushi Chef is also classic Italian trained so their fusion dishes are unlike anything I have had anywhere else. Their Tiramisu is so creamy (I dont even like Tiramisu, but theirs is fantastic.) It is pricey and you need to get reservations well in advance as it's a small venue which is only open a few hours a day.

I've been here many times over the years and the food never disappoints. Make your reservations well in advance as he does book up quickly. Edit - Still visit as much as we can. COVID sucked though. Pics are from recent visit.

Unique dining experience that was well worth the wait. Appetizers were so good, had to try almost all of them. Sushi and sashimi flavor were on another level, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to order spicy tuna anywhere else again. Even days later we are still talking about how good it was. As I understand it, they fly in the food frequently and only serve fewer than 20 people per night. The the freshness is apparent in the taste, and service very personalized.

Good, fresh fish. Good mix of fusion food and classic sushi. The sashimi plate is great for two. The mustard green salad is amazing... Tiramisu was very rich, and served with coffee upon request... and probably the only public bidet seat in Denton! Don't come for the rolls!

Keiichi is the gem of tiny restaurants. Have a difficult time elaborating on how wonderful the experience and food is because I already had to make reservations a month in advance for a party of 2 on a Thursday night!

It's a little hole in the wall. You have to have a reservation and you better prep yourself. Cozy sushi bar area seating around 10. They have a small table in a separate room and a small bartop. The food is prepared by the owner in front of you if you choose sushi. He apparently trained under an Italian for a while and the tiramasu is to die for ( both the normal and the green tea). We chose to have the chefs choice for our meal and it was chosen well!!! The food is priced a little high but you get what you pay for. If you leave there unsatisfied, I would say you intended to. 5 out of 5. I just wish I could find another reservation this year!

We waited months for our RSVP. Well worth the wait!! There wasn’t one dish we tried that fell short. Every dish was memorable. The service was great. My wife loved the Tasman Sea Trout. The Squid with Hawaiian red salt and lime and the Spicy Tuna Tar Tar were 🙌🏾. Don’t leave without having the Green Tea tiramisu. We look forward to our next RSVP!!

We were so excited to finally eat here. After trying to get in for two years we were thrilled to finally get a reservation. Food was incredibly high quality and excellently prepared. Highly the beef and jalapeño cream cheese rolls and the Kinoko pasta. We also loved the other fish that we ate. Can’t wait to come back!

We waited a while to get reservation here and were so excited. There were 7 of us. I felt like the chef was phoning it in, he didn't seem interested in engaging with us despite the fact that we were in very close quarters, I rarely understood what we were eating. It was all good but nothing notably mind-blowing. I think all 7 of us left feeling like we had overpaid for something that was overhyped.

😐 This place has great customer service and great food. However, I’ve noticed in the past few months that the portion size of the meat for the Classic meal has severely decreased. At this point they’re charging $11.85 after tax to serve you three cups of rice, mac salad, and 3-4 oz of chicken.
