This place is actually quite fun and I love that it connects to other clubs within the same building. Minus one star for the unfriendly bartender in the main area. Never had I experienced someone act so inconvenienced and give me so much attitude for trying to order a rum punch. She gave me a look as if I was speaking Klingon and said she didn't know what I'm talking about with a clearly vexed tone. Don't know her name but what I think needs to be said to her is: "if you're gonna have an attitude for no reason, in a job where you're supposed to be personable don't be a flipping BARTENDER." Still a nice club experience, just that one little thing.

This happened last night, 5/11/22. Spent $16 for a few shots and the bartender I had (beard, slightly long brown hair, heavier build) literally screamed at me with hostility for not tipping, saying he works off tips all while having a conversation with someone else. Horrible way to go about getting a tip. I felt bad for the guy and put $3 on the receipt for a tip, he made that $3 into an $8 or something because now my card is reflecting that. That was a really scummy thing to do based on the principle. Thanks to him I will not be returning there. I was also charged $27 for a single Redbull and 2 shots of jager, which doesn’t really make sense.

I had to give them another star. Over the past couple of years they've become my second favorite club. They book pretty good acts and it's a chill spot that actually has seating. Biggest downside (since they asked) is that it's always hot as the hubs of hell in there!

Cover charge + Expensive drinks + Slow expensive food. Not a lot of room. Far better and cheaper options in the area. All in two drinks and snacks for two $70. With $11 shots plus the four flights of stairs, you can do better.

It's a bar with overpriced drinks and ok music. Paid $10 for a drink. Also make you pay for bottle water ($3) instead of just giving you a cup. A bar that takes advantage of LGBT during pride.

Music was ok; but for the cover charge of $25 per head, the music, the crowd and the dance floor does not justify it at all. Rather, I recommend you check out “milk” and “club vinyl”!

Cool little place. Small venue, decent sound, efficient bar. The place smelled like sweet incense, which was a nice departure from the scents of other venues. Clean bathrooms, decent staff, art deco thing going on inside with a sizeable dance area considering the overall venue size.

No taps at the bar. Mediocre sound.

Craziness. Myself and a buddy ended up going to this club on a fluke. Everything was good. Solid music, environment, drink prices, etc. I found myself at a table downstairs and just relaxing. When I got up and left I realized that my wallet was gone. I ran into Security at the door (Dan) and he went back in to see if anyone found it. He ultimately located it near one of the tables. My wallet pretty much had my whole life in it. He saved the day on that one. If not for that little fiasco, the night would have been great. Next time, I bring only one card and ID to get me through.

This is an impressive experience for both new and seasoned clubbers. Having so many choices for music, dancing, and drinking all in one building gives everyone in your party what they're looking for. There's often enough room to move for those who don't want to struggle to dance around. Bring your friends and enjoy a warm summer night on the rooftop listening to deep house music or join the 80s and 90s music crowd in the basement. My friends always ask when we can go back!

Dated music venue with fuddy duddy dj’s and creepy guys. Overpriced and I felt ripped off and negative vibes with the people here. Not fun. If you want to pay to have a bad time here that’s what you can expect here.

I had a fun time watching drag and burlesque performances on Saturday evening 6/25. But I was highly disappointed in the consideration for safety of patrons, the stress of performers and volunteers and the overall organization. I fell twice that evening, once on the dance floor fully to the floor. And then due to water in the FEMALE PRESENTING BATHROOM. I sustained a pretty severe sprain in both ankles, bruising and due to my bone and hip issues I am out of work for 3 days. I should be for more but I can't afford to lose money like that. I saw three other people who either slipped, fell or rolled there ankle or hurt themselves. Most were due to water in the female presenting bathroom. As well as water all over the floor, all but two doors were either unlockable or had the doors on backwards. I literally had to use my hands and walking aid to hold the door so It wouldn't swing open. Soap and toilet paper ran out way to quickly and was not replaced. I told security about the excess water and he was on top of trying to get it mopped up but more water kept appearing. I understand this is a bar and drinks get spilled, as well water gets spilled. But think of the safety of your staff, patrons and performers. I went to the MALE PRESENTING BATHROOM after my second fall, which i did use after the second fall in hopes of dryer floors and locking doors. Surprise surprise it was consistently cleaned, well stocked and all the locks worked on the doors. I come to bar standard for higher STANDARDS. But was extremely disappointed. Do better barstandard Im giving 1 star for the volunteers, performers, photographers and fellow event peeps that made my night fun

Always a great time

Had an absolutely horrid experience at Bar Standard last night. Tried to order a drink from the female bartender - Drew. After waiting several minutes as she served everyone around us who came and went she came over to my girlfriend and I. When we ordered a round of drinks she rolled her eyes at us and walked away. Came back with our drinks and I gave her a $20 and asked for change as we wanted put half on a card and pay half in cash. She took the total tab out of the cash and when she gave me back my change I tried to clarify. She rolled her eyes again and said it would take at least 10 minutes for a manager to come over to be able to give me back the cash. She then came back 1 minute later and threw my money at me on the bar and took the credit card back to charge it. Finished our drinks and left. Then this morning my girlfriend checked her account and was charged 3 times for one drink. DO NOT GO HERE! First time and we will never be back.

Good place for dancing. It's not clean and your feet stick to the floor. The mixed drinks are terrible.

Awesome environment, service, drinks, and so much fun and diverse night club , I always have fun there alone or with friends, it always a place I like to bring people visiting Denver, thanks !!

Bartender with the bandanna and all the tattoos literally sits on his phone while customers are trying to get a drink, then screams at the customers for asking if they can get the drink. Pretty sad, really. Update: This was on Saturday, the 27th at the bar right when you walk in the door after paying 11:00. The guy had a lot of rage and was taking it out on customers and then just walked away and wouldn't help half my group when we were sitting there patiently and politely.

Great small venue, cheap drinks, always fun

One of the best bars in Denver, along with Vinyl, and Acoma Street Project. ASP is currently going on as an outdoor music and art experience! Amazing way to be out and having a good time with safety and health. The staff are also all great people. All and all, worthy of supporting this staff and their entertainment ✨♥️ wish I could give them more stars! Thanks for being such a positive outlet for this city!

$15 sat. cover now for no headlining artist, I support this if the talent is getting the money but just sharing the info as some might find this pertinent. Quite a bummer tbh. Been holding off on a neg. Review as it used to be one of our favorite places, but there’s too much competition these days to have overtly unfriendly staff, from bartenders to the obviously unstable roid rage security guy we saw treating a group of girls like he was called in as the swat team to handle a life or death situation. We later asked them what happened and they said he was being abrasively rude and aggressive while they were just grabbing their belongings to clear out (mind you the dj was still playing, it was 120am; and we ourselves were still waiting for drinks to be served without issue or warning the rooms were being shut down?? So they want patrons drink money whilst simultaneously rudely ushering people out while the dj is literally still going *1:20 on a sat night*. On our end, drinks have wandering prices from bartender to bartender and bar to bar ($18 well vodka+ corona, $15 or $13 Tito’s or Ketel one and basic mixers). Prices are whatever, good priced drinks used to be a benefit of coming here, and it just isn’t anymore and that’s okay. But I don’t enjoy feeling like I’m at a used car sales lot every time I need a refill when I’m out for a night. A shame to see, but we won’t be back this time.

I am sorry to say The only comment I have is to say I will be visiting Denver from 12-8 through 12-13 and I’m trying to “research” where I want to go. This definitely sounds like it’s up my alley but there’s no phone number. How else can I find out about who will be playing, cover charges, etc.?!?

I love coming to bar standard and milk ! One of my top favorite spots in denver, I’m always welcomed with open arms and the bar staff is outstanding. Mikey has to be my go to bartender. They are always lively and spunky, attentive and wear the best outfits. I’ve lived in denver for a couple years now and I always want to head to bar standard when the girlies need a night out ! <3

I would like to point out the excellent service I had received from Mikey he was very customer oriented, he displayed great customer service skills, loved his fashion & personality. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink & he whipped something up & now it's my favorite drink when I go into Milk Bar.

All I ever do is dance. They find some magic reason to kick me out because someone in management doesn't like me, AFTER i paid my way in that is. PATHETIC, fed up with this dump.

Was packed this weekend! A great time! Soooo much fun.

Bar tender and staff was extremely rude. She poured out my drink that we paid for aggressively. She then lied and repoured me something bottom shelf different from what I bought. Talked to be very disrespectfully and then when a white gentleman stepped in because he saw the treatment she apologized to him but not me.

We hired this place for a private event and were incredibly impressed with everything. In particular, the staff were fantastic. Thank you, Bar Standard, for such a solid event experience.

Security guard straight up groped my girlfriend and told me, “there’s nothing you can do about this.” Butch looking squat fat woman, head shaved on the sides, bun on top. You won’t be forgotten. Now for all to see. Find anywhere else

I had a great experience at Bar Standard, I did get there early just because I was in the area and tend to not be out really late. I got a Red Bull, nothing crazy but I did have a great time chatting with the bartender Mikey when he had time since I was hanging out around that area until I mingled around. He was a good time and had me laughing and was an overall good time before the crowd came in i mingled off.

When it's disco night, it's bound to be a good time. Little pricey on the drinks as expected but the covers are affordable and it's a fun and quirky place to hang out and enjoy the music and vibes.

Went to (tried to go to) a DJ set. It seemed legit, was posted on artist website and everything. Waited outside the club until 9:15 (opening was supposed to be at 9- wouldn’t care about this at all, had the rest of the night not occurred). The listed start time everywhere I could find for the headliner was 9pm, but was told after entering that they won’t start until 12am. Despite this being much later than I planned on staying, I took it in stride and enjoyed some of the floor areas (there were three or four different places with different music and vibes, all with bars, which was pretty cool) and ordered some drinks. The DJ set ended up not even starting until 1am. It was the same DJ doing the set as was doing all of the music before as well, so I don’t know what the hour delay was for if they weren’t waiting on anyone (take this with a grain of salt, all I saw was an outside perspective of the situation). After the set started, only about five of the artist’s songs were played before the lights turned on around 1:50am during the most popular song. Overall a very disappointing night. I wish I had cut my losses and left sooner.

Great venue with very reasonably priced drinks!

Although the layout of this place is a little odd, it's narrow and long, I feel they did the best they could with what they had to work with. The bathrooms are up front, left of the stage, which can make them difficult to access during busy shows (although they have installed large tables on the left side of the venue to create a path down the side to the restroom). There are three bars for convenience, one on the right side of the stage, one in the back, and a bar upstairs on the rooftop lounge. Drinks are small and pricey (I heard from friends, but I come from a resort town and found it reasonable/comparable to what I was used to). It's nice to be able to cool off and catch a bit of a view on the rooftop. A cool venue and worth checking out! The credit card machines were down while I was there, which was inconvenient. Luckily, I had friends that had cash I was able to borrow and repay, but there is a no re-entry policy, so if I hadn't had cash/friends it would've been a major bummer! So come with cash I guess. Overall still a good experience, and we drove all the way down from Breckenridge! I hope to come back for a show soon!

Hayden James played a killer set, it was a fantastic night on the rooftop. Not tooo crowded and everyone there was chill.

Don't use a credit card here! Months later after a night out here, my card was charged for two separate transactions for about $30 each while the club was even closed, around 3pm on a weekday and I was at home! A small charge, just enough to not notice! My bank had to dispute the fraud charges! And of course I got my money back. Beware!

They have some amazing artist tat perform here! I'm a huge edm fan so have come to a few events here where they had some of my favorite djs perform. Tickets are about $35-$40 bucks. You can order VIP tickets to get faster entry and access to upstairs and the private room. In the room you have a straight view of the stage and more space to mingle and enjoy the night. They had bars all over the place. So easy access to refreshments throughout the night. Valet right in front of the place. Kind of a hassle dealing with lots nearby. They're always backed up or too far to walk in heels. Like this place because it is huge! Like that there's more space to explore and walk around.
