This place used to be great for getting a good sandwich or burger after a game or visiting a nearby attraction. It has fallen into disrepair and has become somewhat shabby. All of the decor has seen better days and the lace curtains seem to have never been cleaned. The service is provided by one waiter and one server who dole out the a la carte fare in which you have to pay more for lettuce and tomatoes and fries with a $10. Burger which is not $10. good. I took our of town visitors there craving the good old days of excellent service and great food and left embarrassingly disappointed. Bar rescue, where are you?

Had a great cheeseburger on the patio with my lady. I had a double patty that was cooked perfectly. I'm glad this spot still exists, as it is one of the old school Denver bar/restaurants that are still around. Love how they serve the food with pickles too.

I’m super surprised - a lot of people say these guys have the best burger and they are unbelievably mid. Very very easy to beat the burgers out yourselves at home. Burgers were like $15 for $8 quality. Good, but not great by any means Service was just okay, but that’s kinda the vibe. Atmosphere is awesome - I’d come back for drinks, but not food.

Hidden gem! The oldest bar in Denver is a nostalgic comfortable place to hang out with friends. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Chris the bar tender gave great service! Order the Johnny burger with onion right. Hands down the BEST BURGER IN DENVER. If you want to give your stomach a hug, eat this burger.

We sought out this historic bar and are so glad we did! The other positive reviews are spot on! Full bar and surprisingly kid friendly, the oldest bar in Denver did.not disappoint. Simply delicious pub fare simply served with a smile. Extensive list of craft beers and ciders on tap. Yummy cooked to order burgers, fries, and onion rings. Highly recommended! We will make this a must stop next time we pass through Denver! Oh, and there's also outdoor seating!

Onion rings are awesome. I like that they bring out burger toppings to the table so you can put what you want on it. I didn't find the biz name on the outside of the building, only the address so I wasn't sure if I was at the right place at first. Good service.

Texans vacationing and wanted a good burger... really happy we stopped here! John was our server and he was great! Recommended a beer for both of us, which were delicious! My husband got the Ralphie burger with bacon and grilled onions. I got the cheese burger with bacon and grilled onions. Absolutely delicious burgers all the way across. We went in around 330pm, were seated and greeted quickly. If we are in Denver again we will definitely stop in! Atmosphere was so chill and they had great music playing!

Great experience before a concert at Empower Stadium! I love how the burgers come out with a tray to dress you burger by yourself and choose your own toppings.

What a great place with a great bar and beer options. The food are all well done staples, the onion rings are a favorite. Love the relish/fixing trays.

Came here after seeing the great reviews. And it didn’t disappoint, place has been around since 1873. Sat at the bar and had a bison burger…truly the definition of a “cheeseburger”. Checked all the boxes. Very social vibe, will definitely be returning soon!

Omg what a gem in Denver. Historical like 1873 bar pub. Sooo much history still which the original bar inside yiu don't want to miss this place. Service outstanding Tony was a fabulous server and Dan behind the bar very friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best burgers in De ver period 😋 I had a double JCB burger with a side of fries. Drool!! Fun in an old style bar/pub they played classical music in the background as the owner explained its been that way for decades when one of the long time bartenders who use to dj on the radio at a classical station always put the radio to that station when he would work. Again so much history to this bar that has been maintained and continued since the early to lud 1900's. Love it! Also love they come out with a food caddie for your food which has ketchup, mustard, raw onions, pepperoncini's, pickles, relish. I'll be back many times.

Great service and great drinks. Wide selection of liquors. The bartender was really friendly and very knowledgeable. I didn't try the food but the burgers looked amazing and the folks sitting next to me said it was!

Food is ok and fresh. They are taking time to serve but it's hot and fresh. One thing I didn't like about the mandatory gratitude which is 20%. I liked the new way of serving pickle and grilled onion sides. Chicken tenders are good and tasty. Impossible burger didn't like it .. ambiance is good. French fries are nice too

Friendly staff with a great selection of beers. I had the raspberry blonde ale and it was sooo good. Also ordered a burger with the works and shared a fry and ring combo. Definitely left full and satisfied.

Great burgers! The classic cheese burger is great as well as the Johnny Burger. The onion rings are about as perfect as onion rings can be. This place is one of the most original places I have been to in Denver.

Exceptional customer service and awesome dinner! I highly recommend making this a regular stop for dinner! Look up the history on this place, absolutely incredible. Love there is no sign for this historic place.

There has been many of times visiting Denver or just passing through when I had wanted to stop in for a burger and a beer while being shrouded in the past. While traveling into the area once again for Widespread Panic at Red Rocks followed by Dead and Co.’s final stop in Boulder, I couldn’t resist the idea to finally stop in with my brother for a great burger, a few beers, and a fitting start to what was to come! I absolutely loved their JCB with bacon, fries, and their mazing o-rings! The comfortable feel and long lasting history of this corner pub/restaurant was exactly what was needed after the long drive in, and was matched with great friendly service! - “ The bus came by and I got on, that’s when it all began/ There was Cowboy Neal at the wheel of the bus to never ever land.” Cheers 🍻

I heard great things about this bar online and I made it my first stop in Denver. The food was great, the beer was great, and the atmosphere was awesome! The staff was incredibly friendly and the place lived up to the hype. I had the bison burger which was delicious and their in-house beer. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Denver!

One of the coolest places I've been to in a long time. Great burgers, firs, and onion rings. Historic "bar" that's been there forever. If you are in Denver, check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Great place for a quick bite and a drink! Friendly staff, lots of character in their decor. Got the Johnny burger: swiss, american, jalapeño cream cheese. Good flavor but personally would've liked a stronger kick out of the jalapeño cream cheese. Onion rings and fries are ok, did appreciate the fresh onion rings.

Love the atmosphere here, it’s cool to see these older restaurants. The burgers were really good, my fiancé got the bison and ate it so fast haha My only small complaint is that the bathrooms really need some attention, they both smelled really bad and we’re not in good shape.
