Stopped in here for lunch and it was packed. Had a couple of excellent house beers, chips and salsa with guac, and some burgers with fries. The chips, salsa, and guac were all very good (7.5/10), the burgers were excellent (8/10), and the fries were also very good (8/10). For the price, this is one of the better places in Boulder. We will be back soon!

We ate here after a day at RMNP. There are drink and app specials for happy hour. Our appetizer had mozzarella with warm strawberry jam balsamic reduction and basil with flatbread pieces. We could have made this our meal, but had already ordered. My son got a chicken pesto sandwich and I had a citrus salad with grilled salmon. This was a great dinner and we left food only because we couldn't possibly finish. The restaurant has a great vibe, open, casual, yet upscale food and drink choices.

We had a good time eating at this place, but the description was a little misleading. When we read great view of the Flatiron Mountains, we didn't expect to see them seated in the parking lot of a shopping center with the mountains on the other side of the shopping center. We thought there would be an open deck in the back with an unobstructed view of nature. Overall the food was good and tasty with a good selection of craft beer. The buffalo cauliflower was really good. We sat outside, but the inside is huge, nice and clean. The staff is excellent! Very helpful and accommodating. Overall a thumbs up!

This is the second stage of the Mountain Sun Brewery that still graces Pearl Street. They have my favorite beer on the planet, FYIPA, on tap most days, experiment with innovative and interesting beers, and produce many styles that have broad appeal. The food is fantastic! From the homey warmth of poutine to delicious burgers and sandwiches, I never have trouble finding a good choice for a meal.

Laid back spot for drinks and food a little outside of downtown Boulder. The service is always friendly, but every time we’ve been has been notably slow, taking about 25 min between ordering and receiving drinks. Not a huge deal if you’re hanging with good company, but I’d recommend ordering your next drink when you receive one. The burgers are ok, but the vegan chili, wings, cauliflower wings, quesadilla, and poutine hand-cut fries are all very good! Relaxed vibe and family friendly with indoor and outdoor seating. Great spot post hike or ski day!

My go to place after a hike or ride in Boulder. Delicious burgers, salads and snacks. Great brew selection. Indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is always friendly. Note…they only take cash!

By far my favorite place we ate at during our visit in Boulder! The staff were all super laid back, kind, and quick to service. I had one of the best burritos I’ve had in recent memory, a margarita that was incredibly refreshing, and all while having a fabulous view of the mountains. Highly recommend sitting on the patio if the weather is nice. Only unideal callout is it is cash only but they do have access to an ATM if you don’t have any with you.

This place and the staff are seriously the best!!! My friends and I went for a friend’s bachelorette night out and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The drinks were so good, the music was amazing, and the atmosphere was unmatched. We requested a song and to dance for the bride and they even moved tables aside so we could use the space to dance. We are all going to remember this night for the rest of our lives!!!! 10000/10 recommend.

The Southern Sun is located at the corner of Broadway and Table Mesa. The brewery offers a wide variety of tasty beers to suit every palate. The food options are great too, with delicious burgers, salads, sandwiches, and soups, including vegetarian dishes. It's a popular spot, especially on Friday evenings so be prepared to wait to get a table. The only downside is that it can get quite loud, so it is not the best choice for a quiet, intimate dinner. Overall, it's a fantastic place for good beer and food with a vibrant atmosphere.

These are MN state fair fries. If you know, you know. They are amazing, I probably ate 4 potatoes worth. Cash only so be ready to have one person pay and settle up amongst your table to make it easy on the servers!

Since my work is still remote, I can work here very comfortable. Beers are nice, wine cheap, I do.not give 5 stars because of the pub food they have here. Other wise really good. Actually people say this is perhaps the best bar I'm Boulder. Update, once I finish my wine I found this bug on my glass.. ughh, gross from 4 to 1

SUPER cozy spot. Even though it's a large space and can accommodate many folks, the wood finishes, multitude of plants, and artwork galore make this space extremely relaxing. You'll want to stay here a while. Relaxed servers, not too harried, despite a large crowd for weekday lunch. Food was great, beer was delicious, and their french fries are just like my mom used to make. We had a really great time. As most people will warn you, though, no credit cards are accepted. They have several pay options, but bringing cash is probably best.

The tip sharing back fires due to chaos! You end up with all 18 workers trying to serve you and then other workers have to say I'm helping them etc. It's annoying trying to have every worker bug you! It's too much service 😂 tim style wings and brews we're good. Left early due too every staff member bugging me while enjoying my Beer n meal. FYI bring cash they don't accept credit/debit cards in 2022 😂 Look at there response they could care less! Won't be back!

Delicious beer! We didn't get to try the food, but it smelled amazing. If they make a mistake, they make up for it. 7/4 you HAVE to try the wings, the sweet chili especially were incredible, I would honestly pass on the nachos but they weren't bad. Marg isn't worth the $10 price tag but the wings were so good it made up for it

Delicious as always! The Beet Salad was simply mouth-watering. The ambiance and environment is extremely chill. Can't say enough about how great this place is.

They only accept cash or check; there is an ATM inside, if you need to use it. The burgers are just okay. I didn't think they were worth $12+. The poutine is decent. Parking is also decent. The bathrooms are clean. The wait staff is friendly and they all wear masks. They have several beers available (all brewed at their Denver location). There were also wines and one cider available on their menu.

We stopped by often for beer, and were here a week ago for the first time for food. They are back to cash-only. If you bring the old plastic growler back you can get a small discount on a growler. We ordered a bison burger and a sandwich with a few modifications. The chicken sandwich didn't come out quite as we asked. We had to wait a bit for them to remake it, but the manager went out of her way to make sure we got what we asked for and were completely satisfied. The food was all delicious when we got it. We enjoyed their chips more than their french fries. Mix-ups can happen, but the way the manager and the staff did everything to fix it and accommodate us left such a good impression that we're back again today.

Wow. We decided to try this place out for the first night of our honeymoon and our expectations were blown out of the water!! The food and drinks were INCREDIBLE (seriously) and the service and the manager were so kind and attentive! So many of staff congratulated us- it really made our whole trip. This is a must see place in Boulder, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Everything about this place was amazing! Each staff person we interacted with were incredibly kind and accommodating. Our server (Emmy) was hilarious, so sweet, and exhibited an exuberant demeanor that was so infectious. The atmosphere, food, and drinks were also downright splendid. Def instantly became my go-to Boulder brewery.

The Southern Sun has great lively energy. The place was packed, but had room for us. Big tables. Great for families and beer lovers. The burgers, fries, chips were delicious and kids enjoyed the chicken quesadillas. We met the owner Kevin who was so nice. Can't wait to go back!!

This place lets you get samplers to see what brew you want. During stout month this is awesome! You can find the one that suits your pallet best. The food is also good, and the homemade chips are spectacular!

I had, over the course of the last year, seen the lively crowds that patronized the Southern Sun. I know that if the establishment is as popular as it is, there must be something worth checking out. And now I can see why the place is so popular. I had a bit of time before I had to go to work, so I stopped in for dinner. I had the Garlic Flat Bread and the steak burger Both were delicious. The flat bread was covered with cheese, the marinara dipping sauce was a perfect compliment to the cheesy goodness of the flat bread, and the burger was simply delicious. The fries were plentiful, and by the time I finished, I was in quite a good mood because delicious food will often do that. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed, and family friendly. And as an aside, this would be an ideal first date place to enjoy the pleasure of another's company. So if you are looking to satiate your hunger pangs with a generous helping of good food with great service, then the Southern Sun Pub in the Table Mesa shopping center off Broadway and Table Mesa in Boulder is a place I highly recommend. Bravo Zulu guys.

We went for Stout Month. We sampled 6 different stouts. They were all fine. None really stood out. The food was average , my mushroom/onion burger was disappointing WAY overcooked. When ordering I ask for medium rare our server told us they cook them all the same?? Yeah OVERDONE. The service was good and we had chicken wi gs as an app. They were also good

The service isn't great. They all seem pretty proud of their restaurant but despise the patrons. They also don't allow dogs on the patio. Saying it was both it was an owner decision and a code issue. Interesting take, but just say you don't want dogs. Definitely a choice but don't be a coward and blame "code" for your business decisions.

We had a great experience when we visited early Oct, 2023. Cash only, like others have mentioned. But, it was explained nicely and there's an ATM on site. So, ok. We actually had an issue with our food order and it was handled immediately and as professionally as one could possibly hope for. Customer service and kindness 10/10. The food ended up turning out to be excellent (after we got our initial problem handled) and we would certainly go back. Well done, staff and management.

NEVER COME BACK. I wish I could to rate them -5/5 We waited for 30mins for table and more than 1 hour for food but it didn't show up. They forgot our food. We asked 3 times & they said it coming but....not. And then when we want to leave, the manager came out & said "the wings take time & it almost done ".... OMG 😑 They messed up our drink too. We ordered 2 beers & 2 soda and it came out after we asked them twice. They took me 3 times for water. Did they need to fry water too?

Classy hippyish brewery with a WONDERFUL food selection. All the people who work there are engaging and very cool. The concept of everyone doing everyone's job is perfect. Our waiter, who is from Tampa, was especially interesting to talk with.

Really disappointing. I used to love going to Mountain Sun on Pearl Street like 20 years ago. It was local and food was great. This place now seems like a money grab and the food was not good at all. Fries smelled of old oil, kids didn't even eat them. What used to be a handmade veggie burger is now a Morningstar brand burger and is like $16 served with chips, only cash accepted, plus tax, plus mandatory 20% tip. Yeah, we didn't like paying $250 for 4 adults and 4 kids, two beers, to get burgers and wings. Plus I had to go to the bar to ask if someone could come and clear our plates.

Food is good, but waiter doesn't check back in at all after order and it takes longer than it should to get appetizers like nachos. I ordered wings and nachos and they brought them both out at the same time. They accidentally dropped one wing so they brought me a partial order and brought that one wing out later. Place is clean and has a friendly atmosphere, but definitely not five star due to the above reasons I mentioned in this review. I had to get up from my table to ask for a check and a to go box due to lack of engagement from the the waiter and other staff. Additionally the waiter neglected to inform me that they only except cash or check. They have any ATM, but when I tried to withdraw the ATM was extremely slow and my card was declined which didn't make sense because my account always has more than adequate funds. The server I got my bill from wasn't my original waiter. I only saw him when I placed my order. Just some observations management might want to work on.

A fun atmosphere with delicious food and great service! This is a staple for my relatives and they’ve taken me here a few times and I’m never disappointed. Their service is efficient and friendly. Their cauliflower wings are delicious and their burgers will not disappoint. Especially the date night burger that has goat cheese, yummy! Some may complain it’s cash or check only, but I heard they pay their employees well, probably from saving on cc transaction fees. That’s a restaurant I’d be happy to bring a checkbook to! Thank you!!
