The food was pretty good but pretty small so be prepared. The chicken soup dumpling was the best part in my opinion, but my friend and I didn’t like the French onion one at all. We could be partial because we aren’t the biggest fans of French Onion Soup, but it was still a very weird taste. We also ordered the Wagyu Beef Skewers which I thought were pretty good. A little spicy but I liked how chewy it was. The Chicken Slider was also pretty decent but a little tasteless in my opinion. Finally, we also ordered the scallion pancake which was good but pretty ordinary. We spent $50 total for all these dishes plus the scallion pancakes and that was during Happy Hour.

We sat at the counter bar and had the best experience watching the Chefs hard at work. It was so entertaining and fun. We were lucky enough to even have Lon cooking for us! The soup dumplings are amazing. We had every appetizer on the menu and loved them all.

Good but not great lunch. Fun selection. Some of the selection was great, some overrated, to me. Unique in Denver for sure. Parking was a nightmare. The designated garage for ChoLon was full. A lit a block away, after circling 3 times was $21

I thought it was an interesting experience for an experiment in modern Asian fusion. I don't think it was memorable enough that I would go back. It was a decent and interesting food experience that wasn't probably good for the value proposition. The place is right in the lower downtown, easy to get to. Pretty upscale and nice. You won't probably regret experiencing it. But it would just be not that memorable. Could I have visited downtown Denver without trying it? Yes, go to Dairy Block, Central Market, eat at Snooze or Sam's No 3... you wouldn't be missing out much without this one. If you want great modernized asian or Chinese food, go to Hop Alley instead. Much greater value for the price and flavours are truer to the traditional flavours.

We came here during lunch to introduce someone from out of state downtown food. We’re not amazed, but we’re happy. The atmosphere is good, the tables are not good considering this is a upscale restaurant. Seating very close to each other and the table is crooked. The service is good. Foods here is good, could definitely use some improvement. Not sure about paying $8 for some frozen fries from walmart freezer.

We went for our elopement dinner at this location. Amazing food and service! We were told the plates were family style and meant to be shared and to order one item from each section. We ended up getting 2 small plates and 4 large plates for a party of 4. The large plates are probably on the medium side and I wouldn’t consider them family style. But they were amazing and we did have enough room for a complimentary dessert due to it being out elopement dinner. They truly made it special for us! I was got a picture of the waygu steak and the sorbet for dessert. We were invested in spending time we each other and totally forgot to take more photos!

Had an excellent experience and meal my first time at ChoLon. Friends had been raving about the flavors here so I had to come check it out. Not pictured are the French onion soup dumplings that I inhaled. the Brussel sprouts had a sweet and zing-y flavor with a little spicy. The eggplant was a favorite as well with multi level texture and flavors. The nap buns were clearly delicious as noted by the bite before the picture. Come check this place out for a flavor bomb experience.

We stopped for lunch since it looked busy and the food did not disappoint. Also our waiter Brian gave great recommendations and we loved his recommendations. We have never been to Denver and he even surprised with a handwritten list of a few other recommendations to try around Denver. It was very thoughtful of him!

Quite a modern take on Asian flavors. We loved almost everything we ordered - scallion pancakes, corn dumplings, salmon ribbon, and Indonesian rice, and yuzu moose for dessert. Rice were maybe 4 stars, but everything else was so delicious. Special mention for the spiced tapioca that came with the salmon. As for drinks, we got a 36 Chambers (or maybe 16 Chambers) - a unique start of sesame fragrance was quite unusual, nice unusual.

Maybe all of our special occasion trips will be to Denver now... ChoLon is actually that good! We were in Denver for a wedding that overlapped with our anniversary, my husband grew up in Singapore so when he saw the menu here, our dinner plans were decided. Every single thing that we ate was amazing. This isn't just dinner, it's a dining experience that you don't want to miss. Drinks: The Citrus Blossom is lightly sweet and gently fruity. It is not an aggressive drink, but very pleasant and pairs well with the menu. The Zen Master is very cucumber-y in a really excellent way. This drink is a little more aggressive in flavor, but an absolutely excellent choice. Food: Michelle's Scallion Pancakes -- for us, these were the heroes of the evening. The yogurt sauce was rich and decadent without being heavy and the pancakes were perfectly crispy and full of scallion flavor without a lingering heavy taste. The French onion soup dumplings are famous for a reason, although ours were a little dry, I would still order them again without a moment's hesitation. They are special. The stir fried Malaysian noodles are so authentic (almost exactly like the kway teow we had in Singapore), BUT better because the portions of non-noodle ingredients are much higher. Typically noodle dishes have a little too much noodle -- which would have been fine here because the noodles were so fantastic-- but this version had more shrimp, egg, and bean sprout than usual and it felt like a decadent treat. Really, really excellent -- as much as I want to try so many other things on the menu, it would be hard not to order the Malaysian noodles again. The wok-tossed bok choy is everything that bok choy can be that it so seldom is. Soft, crunchy, rich, layers of flavor. Dessert: The spiced donuts are okay. But if you order them with the Vietnamese coffee, they are dreamy. The Vietnamese coffee is decadent and rich, strong and just delicious (so is the ice cream). But the donuts need both to be great. The short version: The food here is EXCELLENT and the service was incredible. We were comfortable and the atmosphere is lovely. Everyone should try this place at least once, it is unique and delicious. Really great experience. We will be back!

A table was not available at the time but we were offered a seat at the bar which we didn’t mind. Bartender was able to take our drinks and food. Tito’s Mule was very refreshing. French onion soup dumplings aren’t for everyone I guess- I didn’t quite fall in love as others do but my husband sure thought they were amazing. Careful to not have a burning hot explosion in your mouth, let them cool down. Beef skewers were also a delicious treat. Close to Coors field and was able to find parking nearby.

Good vibe. Lovely decor, food was pretty good but relatively Americanized rather than the “modern Asian” I was expecting. The servers were amazingly sweet and got us in quickly. Also the tables were good and spacious enough. Also we ordered zucchini tempura and they also fried lemon wheels… literally cut lemons and fried them. Seed and all. Quite strange. Apparently they are edible but it’s just bitter lemon rind and sour pulp with no juice.

Food tasted amazing.I loved the Pork bun and Octopus fritter. Server was amazing. Atmosphere was great and food came about as quickly as possible. Nice location. Parking was slightly harder to find but not difficult a few blocks away. Inside was dimly light but not dark in the evening.

This was one of the most filling, gut busting meals I’ve ever had because my table wanted to order one (or more) of practically everything. And we did. And I recommend all of it. Even the pork belly buns and soup dumplings to start would make for a great meal. But you can’t stop there. And shouldn’t.

We found this place in searching for soup dumplings and this did not disappoint. We were here for happy hour and tried quite a few things and all five of us were impressed with the big flavors and perfect level of heat. Our server seemed to leave mid-meal and our second server struggled but it was happy hour and we are an easy going group. Would definitely go back if we had more time in Denver!

Food was ok but it Took forever to get drinks.. and I mean forever. Our server seemed overwhelmed and the place was half full. His lack of attentiveness in addition to having to be prompted several times just to get things ordered Was unfortunate. Glasses went unfilled and forget ordering a 2nd round of drinks as he never asked... probably the worst serving experience we have ever had and on top of all that we still tipped. This should have been one of those times where they got nothing. 400.00 dollars later and this foodie is telling people to stay clear of this restaurant unless you like being ignored.

Sat for dinner in a reserved party of 5 on a Saturday night. It was very busy so service was a little slow. The decor is classy, and the staff professional and attentive. The food was excellent. The wine selection was also very good. The soup filled dumplings and kimchi fried rice with waygu were definite highlights.

Amazing happy hour!! French onion soup dumplings, corn dumplings, and pappadum - along with very affordable drinks (white wine and draft beer are what we chose)

The biggest downside here is how loud this place is. Its like being at a bar. But the food is amazing. We get the "General Chos's", Chinese Chicken soup dumplings, the Kaya Toast, Stir-fried Malaysian noodles, Michelle's Scallion Pancake. All were very tasty, the Kaya Toast, was a sweet and salty cheese bread that you dip into frothed egg, it is a sweat appetizers. The Scallion pancake, was very tasty, very much like a traditional scallion pancake but cut into strips and what seems to be fried. the soup dumplings, were just a simple chicken soup dumpling, but it was done well. The Malaysian noodles are an extremely wide noodle almost like a lasagna noodle, which are mixed with a general stir fry mix, all together made for a great dish. For dessert we got the palisade peach cobbler, which is not what you think of as a cobbler, but it was still very tasty.

The food here is very tasty and the happy hour deals are worth it! I probably would not go unless it is happy hour/happy lunch. My boyfriend and I shared the French onion soup dumplings, General Cho’s soup dumplings, tofu bao bun, and coconut toast. I felt that the toast and French onion soup dumplings were the best things we ordered. The General Cho’s dumplings had good flavor but ours lacked any soup. The bao bun was good but I wish it was built for you and the veggies packed more of a punch. I’ve been spoiled by Seattle’s soup dumplings which are packed with soup that you use a spoon to eat and dip in a spicy vinegar soy sauce - not the case here which makes me sad. Overall it’s a good place to go for a selection of dim sum but I wouldn’t go without the discounted prices.

Great all around. The food was incredible and so flavorful but not too filling. While we had lots of small bites and shared an entree and salad in a group of five we felt perfectly full, fulfilled but not overstuffed. Our server Jack went above and beyond and made the experience even more enjoyable. Getting the soup dumplings is a must! We’ll absolutely be back!

Loved the place, specially dumplings. Definitely recommended for evenings and if you have any special events you can enjoy with your partner. Drinks are absolutely good. We enjoyed all the food which we order. Fine restaurant to enjoy peaceful evenings.

My life is a lie. No one told me food was this good! In all seriousness, this was my second visit and they were a hit a second time. Amazing service and the food is truly otherworldly. Please be kind to your tastebuds and give them a visit! Also, Andy is awesome!

I came here for lunch with some friends and had a good meal. I especially enjoyed the stir-fried Malaysian noodles and the Brussels sprouts. The noodles had the right amount of chew, the sauce was spicy and delicious and the shrimp tasted fresh. I liked the flavors in the Brussels sprouts, it had a good amount of umami and I really liked the spice, tang, and fish sauce flavor for the ground pork that was in that dish. The soup dumplings were solid-not the best I’ve had but they were tasty with a good amount of ginger flavor in the chicken ones. I think the one disappointing dish for me was the scallion pancakes. They were dry (didn’t seem like they had been cooked in enough oil) and the caramelized yogurt concept did not work for me with those pancakes. To be fair, I am Chinese American and have made scallion pancakes myself before. This rendition is not anywhere close to what I would expect to have for that dish. The dessert was a nice close to the meal - the blood orange flavor in the sorbet was great and natural. I really liked the chai cake too. Overall I would recommend this place, but I would not order the scallion pancake dish.

Pros - Good ambiance & quick service. - Must try their Crystal Dumplings. It's very different and good in taste. Cons - Very Expensive, and the food is not worth the money. We ordered the following items 1. Tofu Bao bun - I didn't like it much. As bao buns and Tofu were super soft. I didn't like the texture, also it wasn't very flavorful. 2. Jade Green Stir Fry with Tofu - It was okay. 3. Malaysian Noodles with Tofu - Not at all flavorful. 4. Wok - tossed Bok choy - Very Bland. 5. Vegetable Curry with Jasmine Rice - Nah! Overall, I won't recommend anyone to go here. If you are looking for some fusion Asian food then it's a good place to go, but you won't find any authentic Asian food.

Oookayy, so ChoLon was one of our stops on our Denver trip which we went during Happy Hour and were able to enjoy great service and great food. We had ordered Wagyu Skewers, Chicken Wontons, Cantonese Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Belly Sliders, & Kaya Toast. The shrimp dumplings & wagyu skewers were definitely good, but nothing to write home about. The pork belly sliders had soft pillowy buns and a savory flavored pork that was great. but what really blew us away was the Kaya Toast; accompanied with a dipping a soy sauce, coconut jam & an egg cloud combination, it was amazing. @phidingthefam

First things first , get the pork belly bao buns. They are AMAZING. The buns are so good, deconstructed - so you build them yourself. We came for happy hour (3-5:30pm) with $5 wells and $3/$4 off appetizers. In addition to the bao buns, we ordered the French onion dumplings. These were okay. Not bad….just not great. We think it was due to the consistency of the dough- a bit underdone. The bartenders were nice and knowledgeable. Would definitely like to come back :)

Great for special occasions and everyday dinners alike! We’ve been several times and love it. Ben is an amazing server and even brought out a special dessert for my sisters graduation dinner. Highly recommend making a visit!
