This place is okay, but we expected so much more. The place is in a great location, with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is so okay, but didn't come close to amazing us. We ordered the sliced steak dish for the kids and had the green enchiladas. We ordered a couple of margaritas and hoped they tasted better than your regular bar margarita. They didn't. While the restaurant itself is really nice, cool and clean, the staff was slow and not very accommodating or helpful. There were a couple of times where we had to wait for someone to visit our table or to get refills on the water. This place has lots of potential, but it's not there yet.

Chicken adobo and carne asada tacos were delicious! Great selection of margaritas too! We went there on a Friday night, when the restaurant was packed, and the service was on point!

Went for a group work dinner. Everything was okay! Not great, not bad, but okay. I would absolutely go back. Broccolini was memorable, tacos were solid. Thank you so much Tamayo!

Great tasting Mexican food served family-style. This was the second time we had a large family group (11) meet for Sunday brunch. The meal is served in 4 courses so bring your appetite as it is BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH. You can choose from brunch with or without cocktail drinks. The food is wonderfully delicious and the atmosphere is cozy.

Nice atmosphere. The food was good as well. It felt wrong to pay extra for rice and beans at a Mexican restaurant, this is my only gripe. I wouldn't recommend Tamayo as a casual mexican dining option for this price range. Definitely more suited for a date/business. Deducted a star for the extra cost for rice and beans.

Accidentally showed up during their Sunday Brunch special. It was a great value! The food was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar. Our server was very attentive and a nice guy. Would come back for the most amazing mango mojito I’ve ever had!! Chicken enchilada was delicious!

Mahi mahi tacos were dry and stuffy to eat. I do not recommend. However, the staff were friendly and the presentation of the food was pleasant. The atmosphere feels like a happy medium between casual weekday spot and a presentable restaurant for a business meeting. The crowd at Tamayo is a mix of business travelers who are staying at hotels nearby and college students.

Ambience is awesome, beautiful interior. They also have a great brunch. Only issue is the food portions aren't great for how expensive this place can be. We got skirt steak and shrimp fajitas which were both packed with flavor, but dishes were about 75% vegetables and maybe 3 ozs of protein. At the same time, it is Larimer Square after all, so it's kind of expected.

Wow, what an exceptional experience! The server was outstanding... friendly, knowledgeable and courteous! The food... amazing! The bacon and guacamole starter was delicious and included a house salsa that was very tasty (not spicy, though). Price was decent, for the value!

I was really excited to experience this modern Mexican dining and was not quite satisfied. It is REALLY expensive for the quantity and taste of food they serve. We ordered guacamole and shrimp salsa( served in a ramen bowl which was not easy to share with a group on table) Had to order salsa twice before the server could actually get it for us. The food is not great! Tacos are average. The location and interior of Tamayo is great rather than the food. Drinks were average too. I was sad to see tres Leches cake a little too dry and no leches(milk) in it. Good place for a date night but don’t expect much from the food. It is all about the looks and not much about the food and its taste.

I was worried because I couldn't speak English well, but Derek, the server in charge, responded kindly and I was able to finish lunch successfully. The mango martini that Derek's recommended to me, who likes sweet drinks, was also great. Thank you so much Derek and every TAMAYO staff!

An excellent way to kick off the 4th of July! We chose to dine out on the patio. Start with the guacamole chips and salsa. All 3 entrees were incredible. Chicken tinga enchilada very colorful, Not overpowering with heavy sauce or excess grease. Crispy Tofu tacos bursting with flavor. Warning watch out for the little red peppers will set your mouth on fire.... Hot but tasty. Chef Richard Sandoval has put a whole new spin on the Chile relleno. This is a must try. Pineapple Margarita very smooth on the rocks. Very pleasant experience recommend this establishment.

Overall pretty delicious lunch. Ordered the "bacon" quac, steak tacos, and salmon. The guac was good but almost closer to an avocado mousse than mashed avocado, something creamy in there, but not terrible. The steak tacos weren't good, but the salmon was great!!!!

I was in town for a business trip and looking for some good food to try. My Uber driver recommended this spot and then I randomly walked by it on Larimer Street and thought…that place looks cute with a nice outdoor dining option…surprised to see if was the same rec! The Albariño wine from Spain was perfect! So refreshing and perfect for a warm Sunday afternoon. The snapper ceviche was some of the best I’ve had!!! So delicious! The veggie tacos were unremarkable, basically the topping of a meat taco. With how amazing the ceviche was, great wine, and beautiful outdoor dining, definitely 5 stars. I came back again the next night to have it again!

We stumbled upon Tamayo on our first trip to Denver, and have made a trip back every year since! The food is always incredible, and nothing beats the atmosphere or the view of the mountains. The house-made tequila is a must, as is the Elote. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Lunch on the patio was delightful, shrimp fajitas were spot on, great favor, cooked perfectly. We also ordered the guacamole. It, too, was fresh and very flavorful. Topped off our meals with the spicy mango and strawberry margaritas. Best meal out in a long time.

This was a great meal but what really let me down a little was the service. It’s in laminar square which is beautiful and gives it a nice atmosphere; however, that comes with a price and with that price we didn’t receive the service you would expect. The plates are a little small too for the price you pay but all in all it was a nice meal. I’m glad I had it but I won’t be running back per say.

My friend recommended Tamayo and I tried it for dinner just last night. We got there for the end of happy hour and ordered a few things off that menu which had a great selection. I really enjoyed my margarita. For dinner I got the crispy tofu tacos which were amazing. I absolutely loved the way they did their plantains. For dessert we tried the empanadas and we loved them. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Would definitely like to return and would recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I came here for their weekend bottomless brunch. Their food was delicious and their mimosa was great. Our server was great. We did request no cheese on our food so some pictures may be misleading. Overall great experience.

Fun Saturday evening atmosphere and delicious tortilla soup, steak fajitas, red snapper ceviche, chicken adobo tacos, and then the desserts to round it all out. Their flour tortillas are delicious!!!Good times!

Tamayo was pretty busy when we showed up at 630 on a friday night considering game 5 of the Avalanche finals was just about to start down the street...we got a nice booth table inside right away. Now I've walked by here many times and have always wanted to bring my boyfriend here so we were excited to finally have gotten the chance! Waters and menus came quickly, we ordered and the appetizer came quick too....this is were my only complaint came...our appetizer was delivered and right after our first bite the main course came...talk about rushing... Anyway, the bacon guacamole was so good...nice garnished and a very nice presentation...the other minor complaint started with the app and moved into entree...this is a mexican restaurant...everything we had was garnished with parsley...not cilantro...maybe a supply chain issue? Our tacos were nice looking and very tasty...I ordered the Mahi Mahi and he had the pork with the pineapple...we shared and both were very tasty! Dinner for 2 with only water was a touch over 40 bucks. We are likely to return when we are on that side of the city!

Their margaritas are absolutely the best! I loved nachos with a tasty guacamole, tacos were really good though not extraordinary. Staff was very helpful and kind.

The staff and service was great. The food was style over substance… went for the Valentines Day Dinner. So glad we shared because the food looked pretty but was tasteless and ill prepared. For dinner and 4 margaritas between us and our total was $106. Our server was awesome and it’s not her fault the food is subpar. DO NOT GET THE CEVICHE it’s literally just hott sauce in a bowl. This is a great place for drinks with chips and salsa. Loved the staff.
