Very authentic and tasty Russian food! My wife and I stopped in for lunch and ended up trying a whole bunch of menu items, including borscht, plov, cabbage rolls, potato pancakes, the peach cookie and honey cake. Everything was incredible! The service was very friendly and the prices very reasonable, we can't wait to go back! I highly recommend stopping by and getting some authentic Russian food!

We were hungry so we got a cup of borscht each (generous portion), plov, beef stroganoff and hinkali to share, with kvass to drink which was good. The server lady was very polite and the food came out pretty fast. The borscht was decent, not as hearty as I'd like, and more on the watery side, but I still enjoyed it with sour cream and a lot pepper. The hinkali were probably the best since they were well-spiced and juicy and just very tasty. Meat had good texture. Beef stroganoff came a bit colder than I'd like, just warm. The sauce was pretty great and smooth though. Generous amount of meat on this one. The plov was good but I also wish it were a bit more насыщенный. Not enough meat, not enough raisins, not enough spice, but the rice was tender so that was nice. Athmosphere was great and definitely gave me the nostalgia I was looking for, with "Ну, Погоди" playing on the TV as well. Overall it was almost as good as my first time a couple years ago, but I feel like the food was lacking a bit of passion. Still the best Russian Restaurant in Denver that I know!

This is such a cute local mom&pop shop atmosphere. Great Russian food. We ordered fruit juice, plov, cabbage rolls, chicken cutlet with mashed potato, and peach cookie. Everything was delicious. Server was very friendly. I can't wait to go back to try more!!

It's an hour from me just to get to this little gem but worth it!! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is fresh and absolutely filling. Great cozy little spot to have some home cooked meals or to have an amazing new experience. DONT sleep on the desserts... Macaroons the size of your hand, honey cake with more layers then you can count!!! Hands down one of my favorite places, go give them a try you definitely won't be disappointed.

It caught my eyes when I went to the food court last Tuesday. It is some thing different from the standard in any food court. The lady at the counter was patient in explaining what the different dishes are. I had the cabbage roll combo. It was great. She even gave me a point card to get a free dessert after 5 stamps. I will go again.

I removed my last review, because you were complaining about the low score I gave you. Here is 5 stars for you if it helps. You don’t have to change your rules for me. But since you know that I eat at your place everyday for already 7 months you probably know that I have never used you stamp cards before and that one I gave you today was the only one I ever had. Again, you don’t have to change your rules, but you could just make an exception at this time and kindly explain that next time I’ll get a stamp only by ordering that certain items. This is what usually businesses do that value their guests. Moreover, it could be a nice gesture as you probably noticed that today I brought my friend who has never tried russian cuisine before. Anyways, good luck with everything.

I've never had Russian food before and couldn't help but wander over to this cute little food place where I was introduced to the Cheburek (deep-fried turnover with a filling of ground / minced meat and onions) and it is AMAZING. I cannot describe how wonderful the flavours were, it was like having a spiritual experience tasting it. One really great thing I have noticed about this place is I am never thirsty after eating here so they really are all natural ingredients, home cooked style, no preservatives no MSG. You actually feel good after eating here. I highly recommend this place and look forward to trying all the other menu items. Really nice staff who will patiently introduce you to all the offerings if Russian food is new for you too.

We came here just to try something different. Man oh man, what a treat this was! Absolutely order the borscht! It is completely amazing! Everything was plentiful and flavorful, from the appetizers to the entrees and their huge selection of desserts. Get the honey cake. Think tiramisu without the ground coffee. Light, delicate not over sweet. Truly a gem worth visiting. Also, the staff is awesome!

After visiting a number of Russian restaurants in Brooklyn, Chicago and a few other cities, this cozy place is hands down the best one I’ve visited so far in 16 years living in the US. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell how much attention to detail they put in to ensure every flavor is 100% authentic. This will definitely bring back childhood memories of babushka’s, or mom’s, cooking. Masha and the Bear is a must if you are visiting Denver or live in the area. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!

Very much enjoyed dinner at Masha and the Bear. From the steamy windows to the inside decorated with Russian knickknacks and artwork, it feels like stepping into a restaurant half way around the world. As for the food, the plov and dumplings were fine but the cabbage roll and beef stroganoff (ordered to go) were both DAMN GOOD! Service was kind and quick esp. as it was closing time. Recommend!

Wowzers, what a slice of heaven! Unassuming from the outside but once in; you get teleported to another world! The borscht and solynka left us craving more and the potato dumplings were perfectly dense and doughy! The meat roll, my personal favorite, was full of exotic flavors, and the Stroganoff was superb with the buckwheat! 10/10 worth the drive from Denver!! I’ll be back.

We were visiting Denver & came across this Russian cafe (family-owned). Omg! I am so happy we did! I am Russian & the food tasted like my mom’s food (who cooks exceptionally well). We ate the following: - Borsh (Russian cabbage & beet soup) - AMAZING! Very rich flavor. Enough meat. We got one large plate & shared between 2 people. - Vareniki with potatoes & meat pelmeni (dumplings) - most Russian places buy them frozen, but this place makes them in-house. Truly handmade. You can taste the difference! - Tefteli (meatballs) with mash potatoes - tasted good but weren’t our favorite. - Blini (Russian crepes) - one with strawberry sauce & one with sgushenka (condensed milk). Both are very delicious! However, I highly recommend trying the ones with strawberry sauce - they are using fresh strawberries- it is homemade sauce (no preservatives, it is not a store-bought jam). Long story short - it is a must-try places for anyone who likes Russian/Ukrainian/ Belarusian food.

Absolutely the best Russian food you’re going to find in Colorado! Extremely welcoming, comfortable in-dining experience, the owners couldn’t have been more friendly! Recommend 10 out of 10, if you haven’t been already, go today, go tomorrow, go the next day, and might as well all next week! Loved it. Been searching for authentic Russian cuisine for YEARS now, and finally found it

What a great little place. It truly has very authentic Russian/Ukranian food. I looked at the menu online and couldn't believe it. There were so many dishes on the menu that I haven't eaten in nearly 20 years. So I had to come by and try it. I was far from disappointed. I ordered Okroshka, a summer soup that I eaten once in a summer camp when I was 10 years old. It was exactly as I remembered it. Delicious and refreshing. Of course I had some Blini as well. And the host was so friendly and helpful. My wife is gluten free. The host went out of her way to find something delicious even for her. Please come and check out this great little place, enjoy some nostalgic and delicious food and support such a great little establishment.

Food tastes good high quality tasted most things on the menu. Just wish the portions were more should be bigger. I understand if you want to charge more calling it XL. I’m still hungry after eating the meal. Deserts are also excellent very good Russian sweets. Quality is good and taste is good reason for 5 stars portion size not the best. Excellent service and friendly staff.

(Translated by Google) My wife and I visited the Harbor Center yesterday, and began to look for where to sit for a cup of coffee. We discovered Russian Spoon, I liked the design, friendly and beautiful girls working there. We decided to try the dishes that they offered. I liked everything very much, we also took pies with us to treat our son working in Downtown Vancouver. He also really liked it. It seems that he will no longer go to Seattle to eat pies! We even forgot about coffee, since kvass from Russian Spoon is clearly better! We really liked that in addition to the usual dishes in this cafe, we found a lot of diet dishes. I would like to wish the organizers of the business success and good luck. Most Canadians are not familiar with Russian cuisine, but after tasting good traditional Russian dishes, they always respond well.

Went to this Cafe after seeing and reading a few reviews. My wife is from Russia and after simply seeing the name of the place she was excited to go while we were in the Denver area. My first impression upon sitting down was that the menu was very limited. The dish I chose came with mash potatoes and much to my dismay, they were obviously instant potatoes. Even I can make instant mashed potatoes taste and have the texture very near to freshly mashed potatoes but no such effort was made here. Upon leaving, my wife casually made comment that she was not impressed with the food and she tried something of everything we ordered (3 different dishes in total). I give it 2 stars for the general quality, lack of an attempt to be authentic, and for being over-priced for mediocre food. The Russian woman who provided service was excellent, no problems there. Just had hoped or expected more from a place with so many good reviews. Confused how they could have accumulated so many, to be honest. Edit: Watered down instant potatoes can never be confused with regular mashed potatoes.

Great food! Service is slower and better suited for smaller parties. We had a group of 7 and meals came out very staggered. Compote drink was red colored and has a lovely spice that adults liked and kids didn't. Kids loved the waffle and pasta. Adults and kids loved the Olivir salad and stuffed cabbage and we got an ant hill for dessert that was yummy. All food was excellent flavor. Tried buckwheat for the first time in years. Chicken ragout was very good and the desserts that are breakfast too were fabulous. TV was on a channel with fish that was lovely and relaxing, but had a shorter repeat cycle for people who were staying so it wasn't as enjoyable after 30mintues.

Freshly cooked, healthy, and absolutely delicious authentic Russian food. The restaurant is very pleasant and elegant inside despite its unassuming building tacked in a small street mall. A little hidden gem offering a culinary experience comparable to New York and Chicago expensive Russian restaurants

I hate that we are out of towners because who knows when we will be able to eat at this restaurant again! After a long day of hiking, this place was easy to get to and we didn’t need to go into the city or have some reservation at a dinner spot. The place was super clean and the food was just oh so good! Couldn’t be more pleased with our experience!

It has a classic cafe hole-in-the-wall feel. Immaculately clean, soft music, but the food is the real star. The borscht is a must try, our whole table loved it (including a picky grandmother who was absolutely floored that beets could be in soup). The pelmeni (meat dumplings) came out piping hot. While they look humble, the flavor is anything but. We also tried the chicken cutlet, which was melt in your mouth delicious. I have never had ground chicken like that and it was so good. Highly recommend for either lunch or dinner.

Best Russian food I've ever had! My whole family loved it. It was so cute inside and the lady I met was kind and patient as I tried to use some Русский Язык. The dumplings are delicious and the portions are filling. I tried Kvass for the first time, and I liked it!

Me and my husband went today and split the beef stroganoff with mashed potatoes and the meat dumplings. Both were soooo good, I especially liked adding a bit of extra sour cream to each bite of the beef stroganoff. I definitely recommend coming here. It is a bit of a small cafe style restaurant so takeout is a great option if they are busy.

Although I am no connoisseur of Russian cuisine, I have had Russian food in other cities, Masha and the Bear is way up there. Their food is fresh, do not just taste good but the plating is also appealing. The place is quaint, the young waitress is friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu. The price is quite reasonable and portion size is good.

Edit: in response to the owner comment below, I posted this review 3 years ago and have not tried to visit the restaurant since. I don't know why Google is showing that it was posted recently. If you're reading this, you should probably take her at her word about the current business hours. They don't keep/follow regular hours. Tried to come on 3 different days at different times every day, all within their posted business hours, and never caught them when they were open.

Really wanted chicken noodle soup and I'm extremely picky when it comes to soup because my grandma always makes it for me and due to covid I can't go there for my soup. I've seen this place many times and wish I would have gone sooner definitely hit the spot for the homemade chicken noddle soup I was looking for, also the woman who helped me was super sweet and lovely. Right when I walked in it smelled like my grandmas kitchen definitely will be a returning.

GREAT quality, freshness, portions and authenticity. First time trying this place and got take out. My friend and loved it. I got the stroganoff with kasha (buckwheat), Greek salad and Turkish coffee. I love fresh dill and the dishes had a perfect amount. Stroganoff was rich and tasty, without being too heavy. So well-done. We'll definitely be ordering from here again. I highly recommend!

My wife is from Ukraine.. she moved here to the US when she was 12. She is currently 25. Let me just say that she believes that the food made @ Masha and the Bear is as authentic as you can possibly get.. brings her back to roots/home and makes her feel at home. I myself absolutely love this place. Not only is the atmosphere amazing but the food and ambiance adds to everything else here. I recommend to any Easter European in Colorado to go there. It is my favorite place to pick up food when I come into Denver. Best Russian food in Denver. When I am in Chicago it is the Russian Tea House and in Austin the Russian House. Just got back from Masha and the Bear. First impression--very clean and great restaurant to observe proper 6 ft. distancing. Had the borscht---wow...ordered the cup, not the bowl--and it was American bowl size, Russian cup size!! Bolshoi size! Perfect combo of meat, beets, etc. and served with the traditional sour cream and nice and hot! Also, had the fruit drink, homemade and delicious and super nice and cold. This was enough for a meal. But, I had to try the beef stroganoff---it was HUGE portions also and very good--you can have it on rice, mashed potatoes or pasta. Had to take half of it home. Also, ordered and took the honey cake home. Needed the delicious Turkish coffee to wake myself up from all the food! Oh...when you walk in, the owner also serves the best homemade bread with real butter. Yum! I have travelled all over Russia several times--and have had borscht from Piter to Moscow to Irkutsk to Vladivostok!! This was my fav---can't believe it beat No. 57 at GUM in Moscow---but, it did!...oh and Mari Vanna in Piter (which was very good). Help out a nice Belarus native---visit Masha and the Bear!!

Ordered this morning to pick up at 12:30, when I arrived the restaurant had not began to prepare my order. The menu is ridiculously over priced for the bland boring undercooked food they served. The potato dumpling entree was 5 dumplings... an appetizer. The beef stroganov was cold and had no seasoning. Disgusting. Will not order or recommend again.

My colleges surprised me with homemade Russian food for my bridal lunch on Friday. I am Russian and at first I couldn’t believe that it was purchased at the food court next door to my office. Salad “Olivie”, pierogies and sauerkraut salad everything was very tasty. Quality food just like your Russian or Ukrainian grandma would make for you. I am going there for lunch today and can’t wait to give them my business. Will definitely refer this place to more people at the office and all of my Russian speaking friends working or visiting DT Vancouver. Happy holidays “Russian Spoon”! The Russian Spoon is located at the Harbour Centre. I ordered a beef soup and a small piece of bread that morning. I was extremely disappointed that my soup was half-cold/half-hot. That morning wasn't busy at all and the lady at the counter was kind of rush and put a container in a microwave quickly then transferred the soup into a crock pot. I do not recommend to order anything during the opening. I guess everything should be ready during/or after lunch hours.

I was disappointed cuz I thought food will taste better borscht taste like water soap not good at all. cabbage rolls where the worst I ever try. Vatrushki taste like bread with cottage cheese added and Napalion cake was way to dry. It’s not worth it at all it’s better to eat somewhere else for that price

The staff is welcoming. My order of chicken, potatoes, and borscht soup through UberEats was prepared in a very timely manner. I liked everything. As it was my first time having borscht, the taste was strange at first, tasting somewhat sweet and savoury. After a few more sips, I considered it to be good comfort food. Next time, I want to try some perogies and pastries.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews, but was very disappointed. The perogies were falling apart from over cooking, the cabbage rolls were average, the beef stroganoff was not spectacular, some of the pasta was hard (dry). The worst was the Nepolian cake, it was soggy inside, I expected it to be flaky like other Nepolian cakes I had. So I don’t know if Russian Nepolians are supposed to be soft and soggy. The food quality is really below average of any food court, and it’s not cheap at all. With $12 I could get good restaurant quality food from Richmond Center. I drove all the way from Richmond to Down town just to experience Russian food, very disappointed.

Russian Spoon was my first introduction to Russian/Ukrainian cuisine back when it was still in New Westminster. It was far for me, but making a trip there was worthwhile for their menu. I'm glad to see their business has shifted to Vancouver. In a sea of fast food selections in the food court, theirs is certainly a healthy, affordable, and delicious choice. I'd highly recommend their cabbage rolls and chicken Kiev.

Finally a place in downtown Vancouver that is reasonably priced, delicious, and the food is not a health hazard.

(Translated by Google) Fruit drink with soap for dishwashing. Borsch without meat and with too specific garlic flavor (?) The portions are small But the pies are pretty tasty (Original) Морс со вкусом мыла для мытья посуды. Борщ без мяса и со слишком специфичными вкусом чеснока(?) Порции маловаты Но пирожки довольно вкусные

The food feels tasteless and not what I would expect from home made Russian food.

This is the only Russian restaurant I know of in town, but I'm pretty sure that even if it had 100 competitors, it would still be my absolute favorite. My family has Polish roots, which is not the same, but my mother would make a lot of similar recipes when I was younger. This place is just as good as my mom's cooking, and has a lot of dishes that I hadn't learned of growing up. I particularly love their dumplings with sour cream. I've always ordered delivery from here and rated them on the delivery app. This was my first time visiting in person, and I have to say, the cafe is incredibly cute. It turns out Masha and the Bear is some sort of animated Russian children's show, and the whole cafe is themed after it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. And did I mention that the food is incredible? Cause it is.

Amazing customer service and fresh ingredients makes this Russian restaurant a one of kind in the Denver area. Try their honey cakes!

This beef stroganoff is the best I have ever had. It is all fresh ingredients and flavors that will kick you nicely in the taste buds. Having spent a little time in Russia, I can tell they have traditional preparation methods. And these methods are taken with care. It's a lot of food too, you won't be hungry for 3 days after eating it all. Get the fermented rye drink as well, non alcoholic but has a sweet rich beer flavor that really ties the whole meal together. It is closer to a soda then a beer but it's good, trust me, I wouldn't lie to you.

Superb! All the Russian classics from борщ to сырники in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The worst was having to narrow down our choices, as we wanted to try EVERYTHING on the menu.

This very quiet and intimate locale is a true gem if you're able to stop by. The decor is well chosen and feels nostalgic. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to accommodate. I enjoyed the Turkish espressos café, didn't like the grounds in the café though. Their desserts are very nice; they have a Macaroons, and the honey came is definitely worth trying. Food is very good and well priced.
