Matsuhisa is our favorite restaurant. We hadn’t been to the Denver location but of course it was incredible. The service was exceptional- the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We ordered drinks and quite a bit of food and it was all delicious. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Denver.

Came here for the 1st time this evening to celebrate with my family and the service, atomsphere, food, presentation, and just everything the restaurant as a whole was AAA status! I could've never asked for a more wonderful experience. Top tier, quality sushi and the presentation was outstanding every time. Our server, Jessica, was fantastic! Knew the menu like the back of her hand, answered all of our questions and made our experience a grand time. Will recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone that is looking for an extravagant experience. I'll definitely come back again for any celebrations I may have in the coming future!

First time at Matsuhisa and it won't be our last! The food and the service was exceptional. Top notch. Our server Bryan was super nice, knowledgeable, and he suggested several amazing meals to try from. Great cocktails and beer. Kids were also very happy! The shaved ice-cream is a must! Thank you!

So glad we have this world class sushi restaurant in Denver. A meal here is truly an amazing treat and a delightful sensory experience. This will be on top of my list for special occasions. Love love this place! The staff is very knowledgeable so be sure to ask them for recommendations on dishes. There are many different type of sushi rolls not in the menu but are truly delicious.

Maybe the best salmon I've ever had. The service is on point here. Timely, professional and coordinated. Kudos to the manager, you know what you're doing! The drinks? Awesome and well balanced. Food? Like I said, maybe the best fish ever. You have to try their specials and go with the recommendations, you won't regret it. Lastly, the desserts were nice. Nothing mind blowing but worth it nonetheless. 4/5 on atmosphere, for becoming a bit too loud at the end for my taste. I will definitely be back for more!

Fist time at Matsuhisa and it quickly rose to the top of our list of Denver restaurants. Jordan was our waiter and the service was excellent. Everything we ordered was absolutely tantalizing to the taste buds. But top of the night was a dozen oysters that they prepared in various ways that were so incredible that we ordered another dozen. The sushi was incredible even including a few fish I’ve never seen before. Cocktails were fantastic as well. Can’t recommend Matsuhisa enough.

My sushi experience has been in Vancouver, Hawaii, California, Seattle, Chicago, SF, and LA. For Denver, people usually compare Matsuhisa with Sushi Den. Matsuhisa is also Ko mostly casual in atmosphere and dress. Service was great. Food came out quick. Fish was very fresh and tasty. To compare with the Den, it has similar prices and a smaller selection of rolls. But the Nigiri and sashimii were better than the Den. But the Den has more creative roll combos. Def try the crispy rice with spicy tuna tartar.

“Wow” is an understatement. Was in town for work this week (for the first time) and wanted to stop in. The food was phenomenal! Lamb was to die for, as was the spicy tuna roll. Drinks were great, and so was the service. Will 100% be back.

The food and experience at this place was amazing. Our server Genevieve was outstanding and we couldn’t have asked for more. With that said, the food was a bit overpriced and for the money we’ve had way better sushi in San Francisco. We still really enjoyed the overall experience and would recommend it but it’s extremely pricey as in you should expect to spend $100-$200 a person.

Excellent, beautifully fresh fish. Attentive and friendly service. Gardeners cocktails on point (enjoy with 1942). Don’t skip the shaved ice - I couldn’t stop eating the red bean and green tea one! Hokkaido uni was so creamy and savory. I wish the Japanese eggplant were bigger but if it were then I would have to have multiple bowls of rice to eat with it.

Food was good, not incredible. I was quite disappointed by the $40 uni… wasn’t fresh at all. All the other food items we tried were good though. I was more impressed with the service we received. The servers are so amazing and very knowledgeable. It was a great experience overall.

I cannot say enough about what a perfect experience we had here. Traveling through Denver and running into rental car issues they held our table late (thank you Mai), and then we had the best curated dinner experience I've had in a long time thanks to our waitress Dani. The flavor profiles are incredibly balanced and pair perfectly with a very impressive saki list, with an equally impressive wine list. Don't hesitate, go.

Most amazing sushi ever! The staff was amazing and made so many wonderful recommendations! Don't forget the shaved ice at the end! Can't wait to go again!

The atmosphere is very pretty and calm minus the very rude drunk/loud people that were dining next to us. Sashimi and Nigiri were pretty good! I do wish they had more than just 2 pieces per order. (Can get really pricey) Was hoping to do a individual omaske experience but they do it family style which serves 7. Overall, probably the best sushi spot in Denver from what I’ve looked at.

Really cool experience and great staff to help you along the way. The sushi was tasty the caviar was good and the dessert was worth it! We also tried the beef skewers and the scallops if you had to pick, go for the scallops.

Everything was perfect! Being from Chicago has been challenging to find really tasty food in Denver. Tried some bib gourmand recommendations and was disappointed with the food quality, service, and experience. I was starting to think my standards were too high. If I'm shelling out I want to be wowed. Thankfully came across Matsuhisa and was like Nobu in Denver? I've been to Nobu 57 in NYC and was excited to try the Denver location. It did not disappoint, the service was top notch, very attentive and on a random Tuesday night no less. Water constantly refilled, cutlery replaced, and plates refreshed without asking. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious. All the food was delectable and really reminded me of what I am used to back home. The tacos were fun and seasoned really well. Also if you have room for dessert the rice pudding is amazing, very delicate balance of ice cream, fruit, and crumble. If you are visiting Denver from Chicago and struggling to find a good restaurant this will hit the spot.

This place is amazing. It is pricey but the quality of the food is amazing. If you love sushi this is as close as you can get for high quality seafood compare to Japan. This place is delicious and very savory.

A bit disappointed. We’ve been trying to find a nice sushi place here. Matsuhisa came well recommended. The nigiris come fresh but bland and without garnish. Where is the flavor??? The exception was the ootoro which was great. The black cod was nothing special…I don’t understand the hype. For me it was like a teriyaki fish. Good but not something I would go out of my way to order again. The hamachi sashimi had great flavor but lacked finesse in the way it was cut. Felt a little clumsy. Spicy tuna crispy rice was tasty but seemed overpriced and more of a “casual” dish than one at a high end sushi place. We ordered the two off menu rolls because we were hungry and the nigiris weren’t cutting it. They were tasty (new salmon roll and tiradito roll) but if I wanted good rolls, I could get them at a casual sushi place. I come to nice sushi places for the nigiri. Atmosphere and service however was great. So if you are looking for a nice restaurant experience and having a good time without worrying too much about the food you’re getting, I would recommend this place.

We always enjoy the fantastic food and service at Matsuhisa. Have been to the Denver location many times and never been disappointed. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.
