North
was
on
a
short
list
of
entries
for
"Italian
restaurant
near
me"
in
Cherry
Creek.
It's
in
a
thriving
ensemble
of
restaurants.
We
arrived
early
on
a
Saturday
evening
with
no
reservation,
but
were
seated
quickly.
The
noisy
crowd
was
chatty
and
upbeat
with
a
solid
background
of
contemporary
pop
hits
providing
the
background.
We
ordered
the
Grilled
Bread
With
Good
Olive
Oil
to
start.
It
was
large
pieces
of
bread
with
slightly
charred
grill
marks
and
a
balsamic
glaze
on
a
small
pool
of
olive
oil.
It
was
really
delicious.
It
was
offset
by
a
rather
flat
dish
of
Pasta
Bolognese.
The
sauce
for
this
was,
unfortunately,
rather
tasteless.
Tossed
with
large
fettuccine
noodles,
which
were
perfectly
al
dente,
the
sauce
just
felt
tired
and
lifeless.
I
was
pleasantly
surprised
to
find
a
really
fine,
and
sometimes
hard
to
find,
single
malt
scotch
on
the
menu,
the
Lagavulin
16.
North
has
a
great
wine
and
cocktail
list,
and
the
full
bar
gets
its
own
star
for
the
Lagavulin.
They
have
Coke
products.
Parking
is
an
interesting
puzzle,
but
persistence
will
pay
off
for
a
curbside
spot.
