Brought my grandfather here after some convincing him to get out of the house after my grandma died. He’s been very isolated so I thought the science museum would be a fun family outing. I even surprise bought tickets to the Egypt exhibit. My grandfather was super tickled pink when I brought him here. The first place I brought him was the Egypt exhibit. He LOVED it!!! He was so excited about the exhibit, consistently pulling me over to the exhibit in Egypt he was looking at. He would talk about it and give me little facts he knew. He overall had a fantastic time. We went through almost every exhibit but the planetarium. It was worth every single penny to see my grandpa smile the way he did in such a long time. It was very educational to both of us. If you want something super cool and learn, come here. There is also tons of stuff for kids to adults to do. Their exhibits are super educational and so much to see and look at. If I lived in Denver I’d definitely come back more to see the planetarium and other new exhibits this place offered.

What an amazing place to explore and learn. Multiple visits are required to see it all. There was everything from rocks to mummies. We also saw an i max movie. Much space and planet exhibits that were entertaining as well as educational.

The staff at this museum are helpful and accommodating. They are the nicest folks. I was walking across downtown Denver with a large backpack when I stopped in, and the security staff helped me secure the pack safely so I could enjoy the museum. The front desk staff were also up front about the different types of discount admission available. The museum content is world class.

This museum is very informative and large. I recommend buying tickets in advance for easy access, but it is not required. There is so much to see and do. I would plan a whole day to see this entire museum. We had a great time.

This is a pretty nice museum. There is a ton of taxidermy though which takes up a lot of real estate, and I'd rather see other things. The dinosaur area is pretty neat, and their temporary guitar exhibit was cool! I'd say this museum is worth a visit.

We take our toddlers a few times a month, and they love running around the different exhibits. The Discover Zone is usually our final stop (they usually get wet w the water table), but the Space area is top notch. The planetarium is a nice treat. Very thoughtfully curated Museum to stimulate learning.

A friend suggested this place since we have younger children (8 and 5). They absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave! It’s a three story museum with multiple exhibits. My kids loved the space one exhibit and the ancient history (dinosaur) the most. We went to the second floor to the discovery zone where the kids got to do all sorts of hands on activities. It is definitely an experience for children and adults! I would definitely recommend it.

Great museum for adults and children. Many exhibits like Ice Age, Egyptian mummies, and how our bodies work are so interesting. They have a little cafe that sells sandwiches and drinks.

I took my kids it was only $1 each to go with my EBT card. Totally fun. They always have good learning exhibits. We didn't have to wait in line. We went around 3pm. They close at 5 so not enough time to do it all. Next time we will go earlier. Love that they had lockers. It was so cold that we had our coats but didn't want to carry them so we used a locker. Also the gift shop is always fun. A little pricey on things though. But all in all a great time.

This museum is full of history, science and great interesting pieces. My favorite was def the dinosaur area since I grew up loving them. They even have a sight where the excavate new fossils! It’s super cool to check out. There’s several floors and it takes about 2-3 hours to see everything so take your time!

We had a great time at the museum! When we visited, they had free entry for active duty military and the special exhibit on bugs. There was so much to read and interact with and the staff was so super pleasant and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. The taxidermy displays looked really good in the naturalistic environments, the gem and mineral exhibit was so interesting, and there was plenty for children to do. I think all of us agreed that the dinosaur/extinct animals was one of the best parts.

I would recommend if you are going with young kids going straight to the second floor where the discovery area is. My kids had so much fun digging for dinosaur bones, playing in water, building, and playing in the restaurant. They had a lot of really cool exhibits I wanted to see but had to leave without reading anything. I will be coming back alone next time. 😄

Wow!!! Clean, organized, friendly staff, big, amazing exhibitions, very very impressive maze area, nice Cafe, great food options, friendly staff at Cafe too...this was better than both Smithsonian in D.C. & the Fields museum in Chicago. We easily spend 3 happy hours there! Best part: free admission w our local museum membership!!! Clean bathrooms, plenty of seating areas in the exhibit salons...I am impressed!!!

My son and I love this museum so much! I highly recommend it as a day out for families! My son enjoyed the space section the most and kept asking to go back. The hands on learning section for kids that is open on the hour for social distancing was also really fun. They have an archeology and a water play area. Great for ages 2-9. We watched an IMAX 3D movie that had a small separate admission fee but it was really cool and educational. I liked that most of the dinosaur bones were from Colorado. The gem and mineral section was really cool too. They have hidden gnomes throughout the museum in paintings behind exhibits so it’s fun for the kid’s to try and spot them. Some are really hard to spot!

We had a fun time at DMNS exploring the exhibits about dinosaurs and mummies and the kids played in the Discovery Zone. The kids, ages 7 and 10, got a kick out of riding the escalators and seeing how they work from the display on the side. Cleaning sand and dirt off of "fossils" in the Prehistoric Journey (dinosaurs and early mammals) exhibit was a big hit for them. Plus, we got a family membership today, so many more visits are on the agenda.

I loved this museum! I spent more than 3 hours and it was definitely worth it! I would never get bored of the exhibitions! It is really cool so your money is worth it! Ideal to go alone or with someone else!

The great thing about museum was how large and diverse it was! I personally went for the dinosaur exhibit (which was jam packed with lots of cool information), but also really enjoyed the Egyptian exhibit and the guitar exhibit. There's five floors I believe, one of the floors is mostly taxidermy with information on the animals on display, which was nice but could do without so much. Food and snacks are available on the lower level. I went on a Sunday around 11am and got in right away, the museum progressively got fuller within a couple hours. There are several interaction areas with children as well. Highly recommend this museum!

Not Worth it. Went on a Wednesday and for what they charge I felt robbed, didn’t stay no longer then an hour maybe. We vacationed to Denver and this was on my daughters to do list. I knew it would be a bore but I did it for her. I have no problem with children. However it was a million babies & toddlers running around with parents or chaperones that didn’t seem to care to make the children behave; jumping in front of others, screaming and running as if the museum was play ground. I felt terribly bad for an older couple I seen trying to enjoy an exhibit and kids with no manners ran them down. I love a great museum but this place is too busy, crowded and boring for the cost especially the mummy exhibit. The worst‼️

We came here for a summer vacation from Frisco TX. And we are happy that we went to the museum. The museum is very engaging, informative, and big for all ages. We almost spent 4-5 hours in the museum and also went to the planetary science movie, which is around 25 minutes and it was amazing. And if you talk about price, it’s not that pricey and worth to visiting. Totally recommended 👍🏻

Firstly set aside 3+ hours to see this monstrosity of education and growth. See I always recommend getting the City pass so you can stroll in and get your QR code scanned and proceed to be amazed. So many exhibits and collections to see. Would come back. The temporary showroom I saw was “BUGS” I really enjoyed the planetarium. Gift shop is great and workers were smiley and helpful.

Cannot wait to go back! My daughter and I went on a FREE day and yes it was crowded but not to a point that I wouldn’t do it again. Stunning Dinosaur Exhibit and watching the Archaeological Work in action was fascinating. We saw the Living Color exhibit and we both had so much fun. Lots of interaction for all age and ability groups. We had to leave and missed the other exhibit but again, we both can’t wait to go back.

Great displays! HUGE! This was definitely one of the nicer Science Museum's I've been to since my eyes were as little as my son's are now. They were beaming and loved it! The space exhibits were a favorite, as were (of course) the DINOS! We have a 3 year old paleontologist and a 6 year old astronaut. We loved how large the glass displays were with full sized animal displays and scenery that was very realistic. I enjoyed reading about the artists that painted the backdrops and looking for "hidden stuff" in the displays. The current special exhibit "Survival of the Slowest" include LIVE sloth, turtles, chameleons, hedgehogs, snakes, and more. We even caught one of the employees feeding the hedgehog, the kids loved that! The only downside, is the hours of operation. We went on a Thursday and were frustrated that they closed at 5pm, not allotting nearly enough time to see everything. So unless you come early in the morning, just be mindful of hours. Of course, we would have known had we really looked at the hours online. Not a huge deal, we loved it all.

Great place to visit with family and alone. Kids loved it, 3 floor full off beautiful artifacts. Kids loved that health and science part and my favorite is wild animals. They have an amazing gem stones with lots to history attached to it. Took almost 4 hours to complete the whole thing ( without special event ). Free parking open and garage they even had free EV charging stations. A must place to visit.

The nature museum is a great place to take a group of all ages to visit. Incredible wing of taxidermy of animals from all over the world lets you see them close and in life size. The Egyptian special exhibit was a great addition and worth the nominal cost. The gems and minerals section of the museum is particularly stunning with hundreds of displays encompassing thousands and thousands of stones, metals and minerals. The dinosaur skeletons and large mammal skeletons in the main hall and partisans of all and wonder as you walk above and below them marveling at their size. A family with kids can spend as little as an hour or two here or as long as an entire day. Make sure you purchase tickets during the appropriate time slot for your visit ahead of time!

This facility was great! I wish we had more time because this facility is huge. It is definitely a great learning experience for kids, very family oriented place. Friendly staff and a couple nice gift shops and a small food court area to dine. My kids definitely enjoyed this place.

Great exhibits! It was a little crowded, but what isn't anymore in Denver? We did the planetarium as well which was really neat. There was a lot to see and we didn't quite get to all of it before everyone was worn out, but it was worth the money.

As a kid that grew up in the 90s, I’ve always had a fondness for fossils. The Denver Museum of Nature & Sciences has many specimens on display throughout the museum as well as detailed dioramas of current species. There was more to explore than I had time to visit, but the floors I did cover were all so unique and interesting.

Honestly, five stars is not enough for the value of this museum. It is so packed with great exhibits that it really requires multiple trips to appreciate fully. Great for families. Dinosaurs, mummies, wildlife, gems and minerals, theaters for films, and much more. Something for everyone. I keep going back and always see things I missed the time before. Don't try to see it all in one visit-impossible. But if you only have one opportunity to see it, plan for several hours.

Was not expecting this awesome experience!! Totally worth every penny and it isn't that expensive!!! The Cafe and other foods they had were awesome with a learning lesson on composting recycling and waste. SPECTACULAR!!! There was so many amazing things to see that kids don't even have the chance to get disengaged!!

Went to the museum on free museum day, and although it was busy, it was a great experience. It's right across the street from a city bus, so it's pretty easy to get to. There are elevators, if you are in a wheelchair, and escalators if you prefer that. However, the dining situation is a tad bit confusing. Overall, it's a really interesting place to visit.

They have free days so make sure to check their website for those days. You can reserve timed tickets online to ensure you get a spot, but it wasn’t packed when I went. The museum exhibits are on three stories, but there is also a fourth floor that gives access to a balcony with a great view of the Denver skyline. There’s a great gem and mineral exhibit with a lot of things found here in Colorado. A lot of things are geared towards children, but it’s interesting for adults and would be a nice date night.

Love this place! I have been coming since I was a kid and it never gets old. This is one of my favorite museums throughout the country. It has quite a variety of different kinds of things to look at. It’s also one of the larger museums. I would reccomend planning at least half a day to really get to explore the whole thing. I’ve always really enjoyed the ancient Egypt area and the history behind it all, as well as the dinosaur area. Such a great place for kids of all ages as well.

Had a great time there was so much to do and see my 2 year old had a blast!!! There is a man who walks around in a dinosaur skeleton and interacts with the children it's fantastic!!! There are also 2 different play areas for the children one with water play and "sand" play and one with spacey type things!! Great place in my opinion!!

10/10!! Absolutely loved loved loved this museum!!!! This museum can take you hours just to walk through and see everything. If you actually take the time to read everything you would need a couple days to do it! They also have different traveling exhibits that come to the museum so there is always new things to see. The staff is really nice here and go out of there way to help you! My only complaint is the gift shop is can be really pricey. The exhibits that come to this museum also have their own small gift shops to buy so make sure you check them out too. If you get some food you can go to the second floor and look out a window to the city of denver while you eat you food. Great time for the family so make a day for it!!!

Came to Denver for vacation from San Antonio,TX and the Museum of Nature and Science is totally great. I usually don't post reviews but I believe this was definitely worth rating. This museum is huge, 3 floors with easy access with escalators in the middle. Elevators are available as well for people with disabilities. I do recommend a walker or wheelchair for those who can not walk very much due to how big it is. Each area has ample seating in the exhibits to rest if needed. The exhibits look great, realistic, clean and very informative. One can spend hours learning and great for the kids to kick start their curiosity. Live demonstration in the dinosaur exhibit was very informative and the kids loved the hands on portion. The museum also has a terrace area for looking out over Denver city with the beautiful Rockies in the background. The outside back area is a nice place for a short walk to do a small picnic. Compared to San Antonio Witte Museum the Denver Museum is 10x's better. They also have a small area in where you can see them working on debriding actual fossils and the time it takes to expose them. My family really enjoyed this museum and recommend it to all if they buy the city pass like we did. Thanks Denver!!.

One of the best nature and science museum we’ve been to. The building it self was well kept, modern, and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful We had so much to see that it took all day for us to explore this museum. Very interactive for children and even adults and they offered so much for such a good price. We also loved the bug exhibit and how interactive it was for the kids Only thing I would do different next time is to bring lunch to picnic there

I like this museum. Here you can come with children, for whom there is a nice children’s section. The space section will also be interesting for both adults and children. You can also have a snack and drink coffee here.

Over all good experience, exhibit window glass was clean and free of smudges, although some hands on displays were filthy with caked on grim as if they haven't been cleaned in months. Many of the sanitizer stations were empty or didn't work. Hard to find a restroom with child changing table.

Wow this was great. Friendly staff, super clean everything. The food was a bit pricey but what museum food isn't. Lol. I had a great time, lots of stuff for the kids to do. Lots of things for adults to do.

Pretty awesome. Dominated by dioramas of very high quality, which I adored but the kids were bored with. The spaceship is so cool, sadly we discovered it just before closing and didn't get much time in there.

Great museum, especially for free (got a pass through my local library). An eclectic mix of exhibits, most of which were available without extra pricing. Big but not too overwhelming. Great place to spend a few hours!

Went on a whim because we had a few hours to kill. We have a reciprocal pass from our local museum so that was awesome (we were going either way). Tons of energy and kids there when we went. Was so great to see everyone so happy. For our 3 year old it was perfect. (Let her walk a ton and get tired). For us adults not a ton of different things compared to other science museums in big cities except for the huge rock collection they have on the first floor. Overall very easy to get in and out and free parking (can’t say the same for Dallas)

  • 5/5 David T. 9 months ago on Google
Amazing. Great experience. The exhibits are very well put together. Very life like. Tons to see and do. Don’t forget to go to the 4th floor.

I love this museum! I could spend all day wondering around the exhibits. Granted there is some room for improvement but this most likely has to do with a funding related issue. That’s why we should visit as often as possible! The Expedition Health exhibit is one of my favorites! I wish the lab was open more and there were a few more tests since technology has evolved. But it’s still super awesome for kids that are over 9 years old. The space exhibit will be enjoyed by kids of all ages. There’s even a fantasy spaceship that’s fun for all ages. Some of the exhibits with growling animals may be a little too scary for kids. But there’s tons of other cool stuff to do and look at. Worse case scenario, there’s a bug exhibit, an IMAX and the planetarium. During the summer there is also a water feature where kids can play in water which overlooks city park. I think it would be worth it to visit when you can make it an all day event! You can lunch in the park, play in the water, see a lot of exhibits, and end the day with an IMAX or planetarium show 😊.

We love this museum! I have two toddlers and the children's play place is wonderful. We recently tried to go to the splash pad. Honestly really really difficult, when should be really simple. It is literally right behind the museum. And they do not open until 11:00!

  • 5/5 Tammie R. 10 months ago on Google
Worth the trip! The staff were very informative and helpful for suggestions on what to see and to answer questions. The exhibits were great. We really enjoyed the rocks and minerals exhibit on local rocks found in the area. I didn't know rhodochrosite was so abundant in the area and the exhibit was awesome. My son was glad to see an actual Denver gold 'nugget' too.
