We had the best tour guide! We went early on a Saturday morning and it was a very small group so we could ask all kinds of questions and learn a lot of new information not just about the families who lived in this house, but also about Denver during that time. This is a great museum experience for all ages. There are so many fun things to look at here are some pictures of the things I thought were particularly interesting.

A glamorous house that was built over a hundred years ago. I love the deco of this house and it is truly inspiring how gorgeous this house is. Our guide was super sweet and nice as well. Recommended if you’re into interior design.

Great museum pretty close to downtown easily accessible via public transportation. A museum that contains an immaculately maintained home with many artifacts that were handed down for multiple generations and still flawless after many years. The tour guides give a rich history and have in depth knowledge of the many different artifacts around the house. Went during Denver arts week which happens during the first Saturday of November where multiple art museums graciously open up their doors for free between 5-10pm. Museum admission is not expensive on most other days and it’s a fantastic way to explore some history and immerse yourself in the life of someone with a house built almost 150 years ago.

We went for an experience with tea and a tour of this most lovely place. I learned of women who worked to get the vote. I saw beautiful artifacts and heard the history of the home. Then I was treated to wonderful pastries and delicious tea. I recommend that if you appreciate beauty, if you enjoy history, make sure a visit to this center is on your agenda!

Wonderful guided tours of a beautiful old historic home and history of the Evans family who owned and inhabited the house for more than 100 years. Only somewhat focused on the women's history aspect, but it was in there. More than with the cost of admission. So glad I made this stop a part of my time in Denver.

This is a beautiful home with rich history. Our tour guide, Judy, was very knowledgeable about the house and the families that lived there. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!

The house, which is in amazing as-original condition, and with all of its incredible original furnishings is a fascinating piece of history in itself. Our extremely knowledgeable tour guide really enhanced the experience of walking through the home. She was well versed on the history of the home and the people who lived there. She said she was a history major and my wife and I found her to be both fun and very well informed. The guide not only knew the history of the home but of the politics and conventions of earlier eras in the home and family histories. I have been to several "old house" style museums and this was easily one of the most enjoyable and educational of them all. Highly recommend!

What a wonderfully interesting and historic place. The tea experience was delicious and unhurried. I enjoyed picking up gifts for my grandchildren- which they loved!

Our tour guide, Cat, was amazing! She thoroughly answered all our questions and had such an insightful perspective on history through the lense of the story of the family who lived in the house we toured

This is a BEAUTIFUL home with all the original items still within the house. It gives a very real view of how many of the aristocrat houses looked back then, as well as a few stories regarding the particular family that lived there. Tickets are only $8 and we'll worth the cost imo.

I learned so much about the Evans family! I loved the way the tour focused on one family but was able to bring in general details of decades past to share with my family about how things used to be. Even my kids (ages 7, 9, and 12) found this tour quite interesting.

This was a special treat! If your looking for an awesome informative history of some of Denver's most influential people I can not recomend enough. The house is breath taking!

We enjoyed the tour and docent and were fascinated by the house itself. While the exhibits talk about women and the right to vote, we would have liked to hear more about the four sisters and their direct contribution to the advancement of women in Colorado

There are very few historic houses tours that retain almost all of the original furniture. A real treat. Also the gift store is one of the best I've ever been in: almost all local art and books.

The guide was very knowledgeable and the house is filled with antiques. While the story does include history, it is only history of the Evans family, a wealthy politically involved (Gov. Evans) family who owned this House. It captures what it was like for women through the eyes of this family, but the privilege and lifestyle of the family is the main focus. The noble efforts toward developing the Red Cross by one of the daughters is evident, but all in all while I support preserving history the name of the museum should be something more about the Evans family and their society than Colorado women's history in general. Compared to the grandeur of the homes of the era's wealthy on the East coast and throughout Europe, the architecture of Denver's elite pales even then.

Amazing tour through Colorado's Byers-Evans history. The house is beautiful and the tour guide was very informative. I definitely recommend taking the tour.

The home of a family who had great impact to the Denver area in terms of art and women's rights during the late 1800s to the early 1900's. This original and very well kept home is very interesting archectually and the original pieces of furniture, art, books, etc. give a real sense of the histories of the families that owned the home.

This fine museum is part of the Colorado History Center. They give docent led tours of this beautifully preserved and restored house, using it as a tool to discuss the role of women in Colorado’s history. Early in the tour our docent said that the houses occupants, the Evans family, came from Evanston, Illinois. I said “they must’ve been temperance people”. She smiled and told me that indeed they were. I knew right then we were going to have a good tour. The docents are super well-informed. The Evans family history is interesting and does provide a good context to the history of Colorado. But the real star of the show is the house itself and it’s wonderful collection of period furniture and decorations. Many of these are the actual items the Evans family possessed.

I had a wonderful experience touring the museum! Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the home. The home itself is beautifully maintained. Learning more about how women have shaped Colorado was inspiring!

What a gem of a museum! This is one of the most remarkable collections of original furniture, art, and family momentos that I have seen in a house museum. The building itself is beautifully preserved, with the original interior details all superbly maintained. The staff are exceptionally friendly and well informed about the history of the house and of the era of its heyday. My special thanks to Grace for being such a gracious (no pun intended) guide and virtual hostess.
