Had an hour to kill waiting for someone. Saw museum was open and got essential personnel rate ($8). Got through the first floor only in that hour. Plan on visiting again. It is still an operating firehouse without responding equipment. Emergency calls and dispatches can be heard from loudspeaker. The history of DFD is explained and shown in some wonderful pictures and exhibits. Upstairs shows how firefighters lived and worked together. If you get up there share your experience so I will know what to expect.

Great museum particularly if like me you love history. This museum is two stories and is filled with DFD memorabilia. At present tours are self guided but the exhibits are well marked and contain a ton of information. I especially enjoyed the older engines. Very well done and the ladies at the front desk were very knowledgable and friendly. Worth a visit especially if you like fire memorabilia.

Amazing museum that is in a bit of a niche subject but still fantastic for curious adults and kids of all ages. Experience the history of firefighting in real life with exhibits and artifacts dating back almost 100 years. Surprisingly comprehensive with full sized fire trucks, clothing from the different time periods and seeing the technology progression. Went during Denver arts week which happens during the first Saturday of November where multiple art museums graciously open up their doors for free between 5-10pm. Museum admission is not expensive on most other days and it’s a fantastic way to spend some time if you’re around the Golden Triangle and near downtown. Super easy to swing by with public transportation.

A very nice museum for anyone interested in the fire service. Of particular note was their acknowledgement of the critical role communications and 9-1-1 play in the fire response process. Very well maintained and presented. Highly recommended if your visiting Denver!

I had no idea that there were museums dedicated to firefighters. We found this place walking past it, so we decided to stop in. It was a walk back in time well with the effort. I loved the old fire trucks. The old monitoring stations were cool as well. Unfortunately, you couldn't slide down the fire poles.

I really loved seeing the antique firefighter station. The boys loved it too! Prices for admission were just a bit higher than expected, but gotta keep those lights on!

This is small old fire house packed with a ton of history! They have lots of "don't touch" stuff to make it interesting for the adults and enough "have at it" stuff for the kids! It is a great stop if you are looking for stuff to do that will fill some time as it is definitely not an all day stop.

This museum is more than meets the eye! The retired firefighters were friendly and knowledgeable. There is a lot of history to learn about in the displays. There is enough here to keep your interest! I especially appreciated the 911 tribute and the children's area.

In spite of the fact that I am not a child, I had a great time here. When you step behind the wheel of the enormous red Mack truck and spin the wheel, you will understand why this location is such a thrill. You should think of it as a buffet and try to take away at least one new piece of information from it. There is a lot to read. Finding out about the fireman's pole and safety netting was a significant experience for me. I had a great time exploring the historic fire house and viewing the lockers located on the upper floor as well as the vehicles and equipment located on the lower floor. A wonderful time was had by everybody!

Great little museum to learn about Denver's firefighter history. I loved seeing the different outfits they had to wear and the gear used back in the 1900s and early 20th century.

Staff are so sweet, friendly, and helpful. Love the history there and some interactive things for kids. They do not have parking, but you can park in street (meters) or a lot (fee). Handicap (wheelchair) accessible on main floor only. Steps for 2nd floor.

The Museum is not so big but is nice to be in a real fire fighter station, also they were able to put a lot of old machines the firefighters used in the past, so really interesting to see the evolution of the equipment. There are also areas for kids, mines had a lot of fun dressing up as firefighters and going around, there is also a space for the kids upstairs where they can play. To visit it well takes around 1 hour. For sure something to come and see to really appreciate what this heroes do for our community.

Although I’m not a kid, I had a lot of fun here. Hop up in the big red Mack truck and spin the wheel and you’ll get why this place is a delight. There’s a lot to read—consider it a buffet and take home at least one new piece of knowledge. For me, it was learning about the fireman’s pole and safety nets. Loved walking around the original fire house and seeing the lockers upstairs and all the trucks and equipment downstairs. Thanks for a fun visit!

Went to see the museum with my boys as teenagers. We love the museum and got to see the truck my boys rode on for their grandfather's funeral. It was so meaningful and wonderful to go back. We miss grandpa dearly and stay connected to his memory, in part, through this museum. The displays are really fantastic, intricate and fascinating. Love to the members who run this place!

The boys that I nanny for, ages 2.5 and 5, had a great time. I planned for an hour and a half, but they would have definitely stayed longer. -Fun kid activities -Interesting facts -Easy parking I had never been before so I didn't know quite what to expect. I was able to park on the street two car lengths down from the front door. There were plenty of spots all around. The self-guided tour has tons of interesting information and artifacts as well as plenty of pictures. There are things along the way that kids can touch so they aren't too restless. They watched the fire safety video, and were very excited to afterward dress up like firefighters and play on the half truck. Upstairs, there is another play area with a two-story playhouse and more firefighter costumes. There was another family with similarly aged children, so that made it even more fun for them. They would have stayed all afternoon. I went with my Douglas county adventure pass, so admission was free. If I had to pay, I would have thought it was a bit more than I would expect, though probably still worth it. We went on a Friday, and there were only a couple other families there. If it was busy, there would not be enough firefighter costumes and I'm sure the kids would have grown in patient, but when we went, it was perfect. The family that entered just before us had a member of their family in a wheelchair, and unfortunately the second floor is not handicap accessible. The employee informed him that there were no elevators due to the historical significance of the building. And I get it, but it seemed unfortunate. I would definitely take the boys there again.

Wonderful. Great things for toddlers and children. Can sit in a firetruck and dress up, play area upstairs. Lots of interesting facts for adults. Really nice staff. We went on a day that had free rides in a firetruck. My son loved it.

My boys love to play there especially the children's play area in the second floors. People are nice and luckily we got firefighter stickers.

So im not sure how I feel about this because for one the library passes are for free to anyone correct. As I read the print on the library passed it doesn't say for family only nor nothing. As an agency in my opinion the passes are for everyone. And the tone the employee (Hannah) used very un professional to raise her voice and the clients are expected to have a great time. The first Expressions out of my clients were wow the staff is very rude not even a hello. Note to self probably not coming back with my clients

The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to share said knowledge and experience. We had a great time exploring all of the exhibits. I love that the museum is actually a former station. It adds to the charm as you can see examples of bunk and locker rooms, as well as the original pole locations.

Fun museum with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. We went with our 18 y.o. and 21 y.o. and they both enjoyed it. It was very affordable and interesting. The kids getting to hop on the fire pole is a plus!

Fun and educational. They pack a ton of artifacts into this small old firehouse. They also have several hands on activities and photo ops for kids. Pretty cheap to get in too. You also get a discount if you’re a ff or military!
