I love this hotel. As an architect I find the building an absolute treasure. Classic and memorable in every respect. An amazing atrium - the first of its kind. High tea is a good experience in the lofty space of the stained glass atrium ceiling. Walk around and look closely at the detailed of the building. The staircase is amazing - complete with a line showing where you’ve reached 5,380 feet about sea level. Staying at the Brown is an annual affair. For me it is the experience of the lobby / atrium. Love it. Yo be fair…the restaurants are a non event. Eat elsewhere. Great food is to be found in Denver in small, mom and pop ethnic restaurants.

The location is great and you can feel the history in the building. My problem is the carelessness in the actions of one front desk employee that ruined my whole stay and the rest of my day. I have over 3800 room nights with Marriott and this was a jolting first for me. I had two rooms for one night. I called down the morning of check out and asked for a 1pm checkout and was told that was no problem at all. I asked him to notify housekeeping as my mother is older and this way she would not be bothered and he said he would. Well housekeeping came 3 different times to her room because he never notified them. That is not the part that bothers me. I went to a meeting at 10:15 and returned to my room on the 7th floor at 11:30 to find my key did not work. I went to the front desk and he told me that I had already checked out. I said I requested a late checkout over the phone but never checked out. He told me that someone came down to the front desk and gave my last name (a common one) and he checked out both my rooms and gave the man the receipts. I said wait I didn't check out. He said that someone did with my name. These receipts have my name and other personal information on them and not one single was given by this guy as I explained to him that I was the only male in my party and this was not possible. He simply did not car and acted like I was bothering him yesterday by checking me back in. I used points for my room and still feel like I overpaid for the level of security and competency at the front desk st. Now someone has my name and address and whatever other details on that receipt as well. Just don't do it if you value security.

My experience with The Brown Palace Hotel began with the concierge Leewood, who made my birthday weekend extremely special. He set the tone for my entire trip and I am grateful for his superb customer service. The hotel is unique and is rich with history. My room was clean and suited me. The food was decent. My entire vacation would have been perfect if some front desk representatives didn’t overcharge my card and accidentally delete the card that Delta.com gave them since I prepaid for the vacation. However, the manager Derek, resolved the issue and I left Colorado satisfied with the entire trip.

We have stayed at the brown palace maybe five times over the years and it’s always been great. They have replaced much of the marble in the main lobby and are renovating one of the restaurants but keeping the original feel and designs for everything. Tea in the main area was fantastic as always and a real treat with a whole menu of teas and trays of scones, sandwiches and desserts. Dress up business casual and above, you can’t overdress; the tables having the most fun show up in giant floppy hats! The rooms need some work. Hallways have new carpet but in the rooms themselves the bathrooms all have peeling paint. We started in a queen and were upgraded to a corner king which was wonderful with much more space and a shower large enough for two, and more peeling paint. If the city noise is keeping you awake the TV can pull up all the streaming services and you can play rain or forest noises from YouTube. Each visit we have gotten couples massages at the spa and did the same this time. Scheduling and intake are easy and the facilities are nice, though the price has gone up and the quality of the massage has gone down. Next visit we’ll be scheduling somewhere else.

I mean, the place has great staff and cool events but I've stayed there twice now and the first time the air conditioner just wouldn't turn off and this last time it just blew out room temp air. Further, if you're staying during an event, just know that if you get a room over the lobby you'll hear everything. For the price, I'd go more modern. It's old and they haven't fixed the right pieces.

Don’t go to tea if you have any dietary restrictions. I’m vegetarian and gluten free. My husband called in advance to ensure they’d be able to accommodate me and was told it would be fine. They served me a plate of raw veggies and hummus for tea! That was their vegetarian, gluten free option. I was mortified. My husband spent over $100 for raw veggies. I go to tea service frequently all over the country and have never had an establishment that is supposed to be “fine” dining not be able to accommodate my diet. It’s one thing if they don’t have options, but why say they do? I emailed management and got no response. I will not be back. To add insult to injury the place was absolutely freezing. I understand it’s winter, but there was no heat. Everyone had their winter coats on while trying to enjoy tea. It was like sitting outside in the dead of winter. Very disappointing because the venue is beautiful.

My stay at the Brown served its purpose, which was to give me a place to rest during my visit to Denver. If I had known that would be my mindset, I would’ve booked elsewhere and for much less. I love historical buildings and didn’t expect grand luxury. The room didn’t feel like it was ready nor was any effort made to ensure my stay was comfortable. Room phone didn’t work. Dent in wall. Room wasn’t fully stocked. Lights broken. Housekeeping didn’t arrive until after dinner time. Room service food was cold and under seasoned. My most positive experience was my check in and chatting with Cameron. Stay somewhere else for the comfort and visit the Brown Palace for the aesthetic/history.

The brown palace is beautiful. The historical elements are amazing and fantastic. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The central air in our room was not working, so the ceiling fan was quite loud and it was either really hot or really cold, no in between. Overall, I had a good experience. We loved that they had complimentary champagne for our anniversary. That was very surprising and unexpected so we really enjoyed our anniversary trip down there. Overall I would return!

Not the Brown Palace of 15 years ago. Good location, very nice employees. Parking valet only @50/night. Really?? Bed was very comfortable, pillows OK. Refrigerator didn't work. No blackout blinds. Light in bathroom hanging down about a foot. Hot water in the sink leaked when you turned it on. Reported it and they got right on it but didn't fix the faucet. There was something black and crusty on the second bed in the room. Not sure what that was. Overall kind of like the decline of Downtown Denver over the past several years.

We didn't stay here so no comments about the rooms. My mother and I try to come here once a year for high tea in the afternoon, which is always an experience. Live piano music, super attentive staff and unlimited tea of superb quality, Delicious stacks of tea sandwiches, scones and sweets come out on a tier and are accompanied by some gorgeous spreads like cream and lemon curd. I went for the blue Jasmin tea this time and was nearly put off by the color, but oh man this was so divine. It didn't even need any sugar or milk, just pure it was a delight. The ambiance in the main salon is the eye-catcher. I could stare at the lofted beams and decor all afternoon. Definitely a must see when you're in town. Valet parking is available and they're so professional and friendly. We felt very well taken care of and appreciated. See you next year.

Amazing place. Beautiful, historic building. Staff is very helpful. Rooms were more spacious and updated than expected. The shower heads in 704 and 843 were not good - showering was difficult. The restaurants on site are unbelievably good. Afternoon tea is an experience just to watch! Conveniently located within Denver for downtown restaurants and bars. Next time, I'll think to book the spa in advance!

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a massage? Or so we thought. After hearing great things about the Spa at Brown Palace, my partner and I decided to book massages for Valentine's day. Unable to reach the Spa concierge on the phone, we booked online. I booked a deep tissue massage for myself and a Swedish Massage for my partner. Under the special notes I requested the couples room, if available. The day of the appointment, thinking we would be late, we called in advance to inform the Spa and was on the receiving end of poor customer service. The host who answered the phone was not pleasant, nor was there any willingness to assist. We didn't allow that to damper day. We ended up arriving 7 minutes before our appointment time. We were not greeted with a warm welcome. Everything was rushed. Our appointments were not confirmed. Had they were, we would have known we had a couples massage and that my partner's service was somehow changed from a Swedish to a deep tissue without our knowledge. None of the lockers worked, which in turn took the attendant forever to find us a working locker. At this time it's 2pm, our service should have started, but our therapist had not come to pick us up yet so we assumed they were running behind. Our therapist eventually showed up and at this time it was 2:07pm. My partner was in the restroom and came out at 2:08. When we walked into the room, we were shocked it was a couples. No one had told us the appointment was changed. Till this day I do not know my provider's name nor was my service confirmed. Our service started at 2:11pm and ended at 2:46pm. So, not only were the therapist late picking us up, but we were shorted 4 minutes. We didn't bother to mention anything to the Spa concierge because she was not pleasant at check-in. We paid and got out of there. FYI - we paid for a deep tissue, when my partner was booked for a Swedish, I'm not sure who changed the appointment. Will we return? No Will we recommend? No, there are far better Spas with excellent service in the Denver area

fabulous hotel; amazing staff; fantastic music; awesome food. Kent made our stay extra special by showing us some of the uniqueness of the property; from murals to hotel history, he really personalized our stay. The tea is a must do with delicious scones, sandwiches, and pastries not to mention the harpist. But the jazz band and piano player were the best; highly recommend! Fabulous stay! Thank you everyone!

Only stayed here a night, but wish we had stayed longer, and definitely will the next time we're in Denver. Such a beautiful hotel with absolutely wonderful staff who were so helpful and accommodating. Also dog friendly was a huge bonus! We arrived too late in the day, but next time I would definitely do the afternoon tea, it looked amazing.

Okay not only is this hotel gorgeous and historic, but if you can get in for the Christmas tea time you won’t regret it! It’s decorated amazing. I was surprised that they had options for us celiac folks too; the gluten free sandwiches and treats were delicious.

We stayed at the Browne Palace Hotel a couple of weekends ago for the first time and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel and location is beautiful and the service was top notch. Afternoon tea is a must as well as a tour of the hotel by their great local historian. The hotel restaurants we dined at and the room service was fantastic. Although there was a little confusion and some work to ensure our reservation information was correct with our room and another of our party's (due to same names), the staff sorted everything out quickly and effectively. We had a little issue with our bathroom sink leaking in our room whenever we turned the faucet on, but the hotel was proactive in offering any help/looking into the issue. They even comped our room service breakfast even though we didn't ask for anything. They truly went above and beyond and we cannot wait to visit again in the future. I highly recommend.

My parents recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary and spent the night here while in town. The hotel staff was great and gave them a nice gift to celebrate. And it was also super neat being able to use my Platinum Marriott status to get them a nice room upgrade and also breakfast vouchers. Overall my parents liked the hotel ambience. Though they wished some parts of the room were slightly more renovated, they also recognized the rich history behind this hotel. They also thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast and would definitely consider coming back again next year.

I can not say enough about this place. Although the rooms are more on the quaint side for the one bedrooms if you’ve ever traveled globally the size is standard , but for some may be a bit small. The covers are super comfy . And if your a person that loves washing your hair this is your place the showers are awesome 😂😂😂😂 It’s vintage through and through. Of course there is always something you can find in anything, but I wrote this review for travelers who are looking for reliable places, pleasant stays, and memorable qualities . This place has all of these things. What’s now mentioned is that surrounding area has an old charm about it as well.

Had an odd experience during High Tea here - a child had vomited all over the carpet at the table next to us. I understand these things happen, but the response from the staff was shocking. It took 60 minutes to get it cleaned up. Meanwhile, we could smell it at our table and it ruined our tea experience (which is $75 a head). I asked the head hostess when it was going to be cleaned up and she just shrugged. No manager ever came to our table and a portion of our bill was never comped. Just a poor experience with the service/hostess during an event we were really looking forward to!

The hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay in. The folks who worked there were extremely nice and hotel was extremely classy and well taken care of. Not the mention, it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The reason for our stay was because my wife planned our company’s Holiday Party there. They were very easy to work with and the space our party was in was perfect and cozy. The valet parking was a huge plus! 10/10 recommend!

Gorgeous! Old world charm spiffed out for the holidays. Great place to congregate for drinks or meeting friends or colleagues. The Tavern is lovely, and the service is top notch. Only had a salad, but it was very good

Clean. Room was very nice. Appreciated iron and board. Wish I had a tub.. Service was great except for check out. Still I think the young lady was maybe in training. Couldn't print receipt and did not send to my email. I had to call next day to get it sent. The event I attended was beautiful, well managed and food was tasty. Parking overnight outrageously expensive ($56).

Brown Palace was an exceptional hotel experience. Stayed 2 nights while traveling in Colorado, and it was definitely my favorite spot to stay. Grand and oozing old world style, it was fun to explore the hotel and learn about its history. Our room was large and luxurious, and service was fast throughout. Paired with surprisingly solid food and drink options, in addition to the spa and other conventional extras, we had a top notch experience. The tea experience in the main hall was also excellent!

This review covers a four-night stay in August 2023. The Brown Palace is a charming old hotel situated conveniently to great restaurants and attractions in Downtown Denver. I was particularly impressed by the quality of service from the staff — from the front desk, to concierge, and housekeeping. Particular praise must be directed to the convention and catering staff. We hosted an event for about 40 people at the hotel, and the service was flawless and food delicious. If you plan to stay, make sure to attend the Brown Palace's famous High Tea service one afternoon. The music in the lobby was the perfect accompaniment. High recommended if your travels take you to the Mile High City.

Loved the historic building and the fantastic location. Peeling ceiling above shower and needing a few things updated but a great stay. Highlight was the morning in-room dining lady! She went above and beyond. Seriously, give her a raise she is a gem!

The hotel from the outside entering the lobby was beautiful. However, the rooms need some work. Paint was peeling off, only one of the doors to the bathroom opened since the other one was stuck, the outlet for the wall were loose and couldn't hold any devices. The light bulb in the bathroom was out and to top it all off, there was no hot water and it was 30 degrees outside. In addition to that, the AC was not working and when I turned on the fan, it was noisy all night. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay. But the exterior of the hotel is beautiful. The inside needs some work.

I enjoyed my stay at the Brown Palace. Though it is an older hotel, they have upgraded everything in the rooms. The breakfast was amazing, it was close to everything I wanted to check out. I slept well and even with the conference going on it never seemed loud. I also enjoyed the piano player.

An amazing birthday experience. Had an issue with the AC and building engineers were on it in less than 5 minutes. Outstanding service from every staff member. Food was excellent, jazz in the atrium with a cocktail in hand was a great way to spend a quiet evening. Thank you to all of the inside and outside staff for a wonderful experience.
