EDIT: I was able to get a partial refund because of my experience. Hopefully this never happens again. Stayed here for a few nights at my room had no hot water. When we called the front desk, they said nobody else complained about it so they couldn't do anything. Then they said they switched something off and would turn it back on but we still wouldn't have hot water for a while after. Yet the next morning we still had no hot water.

Front desk staff was friendly, Sherry in the bar was wonderful and the burger was amazing. The elevators are tiny, slow, and occasionally worked. My room was tiny and hot. Good ac, but blew directly under the desk and didn’t circulate throughout the room. No dresser, no microwave. No room service. The bed was very comfortable, and the tv was nice. No water pressure in the old, dirty shower. Good location. Priced incredibly high for the quality of the hotel.

Stay was okay, nothing really special. The biggest pro was the location - we were able to walk all over or take a quick Uber where we needed to go. I booked a two bed room, but they gave us a one bed - admittedly the bed was huge, and I didn’t want to complain so it was fine. Hotels these days apparently don’t clean until check out - also okay. The worst parts were no fan in bathroom, the a/c unit didn’t seem to work very well, and the walls are pretty thin so you hear a lot. I wouldn’t necessarily choose this place if I had other options that were similarly priced, but it was okay for what we needed. I will say that the bartender in the restaurant on the first level was a joy and super sweet, wish I caught her name!

so i booked before reading reviews ...i was a bit comprehensive but went in with an open mind ... my stay was actually very pleasant ! my room was nice i guess nothing way too fancy , had a good view of the mountains and buildings . Ac/ heater worked prefect wasn't loud or nothing it did look outdated but it worked . No microwave but didn't bother me that much since we only stayed 3 days . 5$ for a bottle of water i guess it's the convenience that your paying for . they did let me know at check in that if i needed room service i had to tell them the nite before or the morning of but didn't really needed it since it was only a 3 day stay . wasn't noisy at all and we had guest on both sides of our room . the bed was good only thing i didn't like where the pillows they where big but that's just not to my liking my wife said she liked the pillows . $30 to park overnight maybe it should be free with your stay . the location was perfect ! close to 16th mall , restaurants, convention center , union station and many restaurants and bars . i did receive my deposit back 2 days after checking out . overall it was a good stay for me and my wife .

Location was amongst all the other hotels and adjacent to the 16th Street Mall, an outdoor strip of some retail and food/beverage vendors, making it quite convenient if need be. But it is also in one of the more quiet part of the city, so it's best to have a car. Public transit isn't quite accessible. Service was nice. A little quiet hotel. Room was also nice.

How does this hotel has any good reviews? When you pay almost $200 for one night stay, you expect something good in return. Everything except for the location was not pleasant about this. Good luck having a goodnight sleep with the loudest AC from 1950’s. The popcorn ceiling has years of filth stuck to it and shower was the worst. Not enough hot water or pressure. Not to mention body wash smelled horrible. No complimentary breakfast, it was $20/ person. (Don’t really care about this part but it bothered a little with $180/ night stay and no complimentary breakfast) No free parking so be ready to pay $47 for overnight parking. Very disappointed.

Hotel is fine, nothing special or to write home about. The rooms are kind of small, and have AC that only turn on when you’re in the room or notice motion. So sleeping at night was a little uncomfortable. Other than that it did the job, staff was nice, and always welcomed us as we entered the hotel. They are in the middle of doing construction so there was some dust and one elevator that looked like death. I would stay here again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

We are quite disappointed in our stay here. The first room we were given was complete unclean, the bed had just been slept in and there was trash everywhere. When I tried to call down to the front desk I was hung up on. Then the second room we were given, the TV did not work. We were given “complementary breakfast” for these issues. The breakfast was mediocre and not what you would expect for a 4 start hotel. It was a buffet that you would expect at a low class hotel or motel. We will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place to others. I would recommend the Hampton right next store instead. Very disappointing and not worth almost $300.

This is definitely not a 4-star hotel. Rooms are old and falling apart. The shower was awful. No pressure at all. The beds were not too bad. They only reason this is not 2 star is because of the food and the server. Food was decent but server was amazing. I will never stay here again.

Pros: Good Location •about 6 min. away from Ball Arena •restaurants are at a walking distance •Clean •Comfy •Secured Garaged Parking Cons: Accommodations •No free breakfast ($21/per person) •Pool is closed •No free parking (about $38/per night) Overall: I had a great experience. My room was small, but I loved it. Others may not. I traveled only with my partner so it was enough. I’ve stayed at Sonesta’s before, I love staying at them. This one was different. They give you a key to the parking garage. It feels safe. You also need the key to operate the elevator.

Worst hotel ever! The manager Jennifer kicked us and our 3 year old baby out at 3:00 in the morning for no reason whatsoever. We had booked through a third party and after screaming at me on the phone for 10 minutes she refused to answer the phone when the third party website called her multiple times to tell her that we had in fact paid. She was so unprofessional and so ugly and mean about the entire affair that I will never ever stay another Marriott ever. I have pictures of the whole affair and it was truly despicable behavior by a truly despicable person

Good location to work for a business trip. The lobby is lovely as well as the bar but the rooms are DATED and dusty. Sadly if I was picking up the dime..I would not have picked this place. However, they say they are renovating. Also be prepared for COLD SHOWERS...on my last day the whole hotel ran out of hot water!!! The staff is friendly and I hope they get better once the reno is done

For the price, I did not get the luxury feel I was expecting. It’s not as nice as the pictures on line. I rented a suite for three days. Found dirty socks next to the bed when I checked into the room. The carpet is worn. Only two elevators were working and one was under construction and slow. Pool was mot warm, my pickup truck did not fit under the garage, my room was not cleaned by maid service the first night. I called the front desk and I was told I had to call and arrange for maid service 🤷🏻‍♀️ The continental breakfast was very generic and costed $20 a person. I will not stay here again for the price that I paid. I expected much better Sonesta.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay which really made it enjoyable. I was worried we would be too far from the convention center but the walk was quick and well populated. There were lots of eaterys in the area as well. And I didn't need to rent a car because there is a bus that will take you from the train station to downtown for free. Very nice....

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and to me it was affordable for the location. Easy access to highways, shops and within walking distance from major attractions like the Capitol Building, Union Station and a block away from the Pavillion Shops. Close to a target too. Quiet, clean and with a snack shop. Rooms were clean and in good working condition. Mine had a coffee maker, fridge and safe. The staff downstairs was great. It has a parking garage accessible with your room card that costs around 30+ per night with unlimited access. Keep in mind that it's a little low. I went in there with a Nissan Rouge and had no issues but tall SUVs like Suburbans ,Expeditions, Etc. may have issues. I only gave 4 stats for the staff because in the 3 nights I was there, housekeeping never serviced my room. But on this trip it was no issue because I was traveling solo and they had left plenty of towels and the toiletries that I needed so I didn't bother to call. What I had accumulated was a little trash but thats it. Over all, I would definitely stay here again. 9 out of 10 for the price. That -1 only being the housekeeping detail. But I'm sure if I would've requested service they would've done it promptly and with no issue. The staff that I interacted with were great over all.

The pool was great, from was great.. except i never got my 200 deposit back & it's been months. Ive called the front desk, the financial branch and they could not help me. Also, this taller Latino guy at the front desk was very rude. Dirty looks and no help. Even when I asked for more info on my deposit after my stay.

Tyler at the front desk was incredible! He gave me great information about Denver, going way beyond what you would normally expect from hotel staff. I was surprised he was not a manager!

Used Expedia due to unforeseen issues getting to Breckenridge. Booked this place at last second at night. Staff was excellent, rooms were better than other hotels by a long shot. Though no room service, it was beautiful view of downtown and also quiet unlike half the other hotels around. Sonesta saved our trip.

This place is ok, it was in the 80s all week and they had the pool closed, no room service, elevators were backed up all the time. And I was told by front desk to come and get my own coffee pods from them. So there is no room service or bellman which is not reflected in any sort of discount. There are a number of hotels in this downtown core area of Denver so you may want to look into those properties and maybe use this one as a last resort. Rooms are clean however.

For the location and a quick stay this hotel checked off the marks. The construction wasn’t ideal but it was indicated beforehand that it was ongoing and it really didn’t affect much for the trip. As for the service there was one person that we interacted with that spoiled the entire trip. Karla at the front desk was absolutely rude and unprofessional. Zero eye contact and she was condescending and when we asked a question she responded slowly and didn’t really answer the question. When we went to check something before we placed our card in for incidentals, something we were completely willing to do we just had to verify something, she smashed the cancel button and acted irritated the entire time. The next day for checkout lo and behold it was Karla. Again zero eye contact and was very dismissive. As someone who works with people daily, there was no reason for her to treat us how she did.

I personally found this hotel way overpriced. It's missing a lot of the things that so many upscale hotels have now and for over $200 per night I would expect things like a smart TV where I can log into streaming services, a decent hairdryer, a luggage rack, things like that. The location is great and I assume that's what you're paying for, but there were just too many annoyances that added up for me. 2/4 elevators weren't working at all, and the working ones are tiny so I've had long waits for the elevators. There's no vent or airflow in the bathroom so it was uncomfortably warm while trying to get ready. It's not a bad hotel, just way too expensive for what's offered.

Loved the hotel. Very clean and nicely maintained. Staff was super helpful as well. Would’ve been 5 stars if they didn’t charge for water

Tyler at the front desk was such an amazing receptionist. He was friendly, helpful, and even hooked me and my fiance up with some breakfast and drink vouchers. The room was clean with a great view of the mountains as well as the city. The service was unmatched and we WILL be returning again next month. Sonesta Denver you have found lifelong loyal customers, and we are beyond impressed. Once again Tyler thank you for being amazing, you deserve the recognition, and much more !

Great location for shopping and dining. Karla was a great check in host and ensured everything went amazing. The bar has great food and drinks. The rooms are big and very clean and quiet. I’ll be back for sure.

Stayed here for a work convention so to be fair I had no control over the room I was booked, but our 2 queen bed suite had only a small closet (2 feet wide) which was half full because of the full size ironing board, no dresser or drawers anywhere so my coworker and I both were living out of our suitcases. The first room we were assigned we couldn’t get in to, and the second room had the most touchy door to try to get in - by day 2 we figured out the trick was pulling it more closed after the card unlocked it, then try opening it - which worked about 75% of the time. And the air conditioning went out on the third night at 12am. I did not call the front desk because I had an early call, so I cannot advise on responses. Breakfast was good, and bar service was great as well! Shout out to Shelly at the bar, she took great care of us. Proximity to restaurants and everything was awesome. We were able to walk to everywhere we needed. I’d stay here again only if I could get a room upgrade to something with clothing storage.

It’s definitely in a great place as for location, the outside and the lobby looks great, but when you get to the floors where the rooms are it’s definitely low budget, you can tell the carpets are old and the rooms remind you of motel 6 or some lower budget hotel. Definitely need to upgrade the rooms to match the hotel itself.

Very happy with our stay. Pool was surprisingly warm on a cool night. Great location. Front desk was very accommodating and let us check-in several hours early after a long trip.

Stayed here in March and loved it and was planning to stay in a few weeks. Last time I was there the incidental charge was 50$ which has risen to $250 which is insane to me. I can understand a hold but not one that is more than the room cost.

I did solo travel at this location for leisure and definitely would say I'd stay here again. It was clean upon arrival to the room, lobby, elevator, and so on, has parking (with a fee of $47 per night) along with a gym (pretty small but gets the job done) and buffet style breakfast at ($21). My only gripe is check if it is cheaper to book with them vs being booked with a site like Priceline or expedia etc. because extra fees will apply once you get there (typical hotel energy). I can also say its in a nice area where a lot of things are near by walking distance if you don't want to drive to grab something quick like dinner. but overall I enjoyed my stay. :-)

  • 3/5 Victoria B. 1 year ago on Google
Honestly my biggest gripe that's annoying me so much about this place is the fact that parking in the garage cost $45. That's almost half the cost of the room itself. That's why I lowered my rating by two stars. And considering other reviewers are saying they only paid $35 I'm starting to feel a bit ripped off. Although it's not a big deal to me I wish they had a free breakfast in the morning not just the restaurant breakfast. The rooms were nice at least and clean. No microwave though.

I attended many sessions at this location for a conference and had an overall good experience. The conference rooms were very clean and of various sizes. The bar area was very classy, as well. There were some security concerns, however, with non attendees or non booked individuals coming into the space and or causing a ruccus outside. One gentleman was escorted out, running around in nothing but his boxers. There was also a small fire- unsure if it was inside or outside-but was taken care of. If security was bulked up the experience would have been better. Staff and facilities were very nice.

Stayed here for three nights and it was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was outdated with terrible water pressure and water that was either super hot or freezing. There was also no microwave in the room and the cable tv was limited. I enjoyed the proximity to everything and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby and the mini store they have up front as well.

Not competitively priced hotel with small rooms and few amenities, but staff and location were great. Currently under major renovation. Pros: - Helpful and Friendly staff - Central Location with free buses nearby - Fast Elevator - Decent view - Clean - Comfy beds Cons: - VERY expensive - No free breakfast - Pool closes early - No common areas with a view (lobby and sitting areas don't take advantage of beautiful mountain view) - MAJOR renovations. Rooms were renovated to look nice, but use very cheap materials. - NO MICROWAVE! This was a huge deal for me on my budget all week. Conclusion, good for business trip on company budget, not for families or individuals.

OK for the downtown experience. If you have to stay near the Ped mall and the Gen Z bars etc. this is an OK place if the price is right. Parking +$35 a day but property and garage very secure. Breakfast buffet at $15 PP not worth it. Staff was very good, quick to respond to the couple issues we had. I think you need to ask for any room service if you stay more than one night.

  • 5/5 Alex H. 1 year ago on Google
Good hotel going through renovations. The room was mostly clean, except for dirty carpets. Everything works as it should and the staff members are nice. Great location just a couple city blocks from the convention center.

  • 4/5 Jessica L. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed here for 1 night in 2 different rooms and it was overall a good experience. Pros: -Recently renovated- the lobby and main floor is very modern and nice -Lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms is unique and a nice touch -Bathroom set up is nice and very modern -Bed was comfortable -Front staff was very nice -Convenient, central location Cons: -Lock on bathroom door didn’t work -AC didn’t work great- the wall thermostat didn’t communicate with the unit by the window. It didn’t get very cool. -$35 parking a night is much more expensive than lots near the hotel, but it is more secure -Room was very tiny (we were at the end of the hallway, inside units looked a bit larger) -Bedding consisted of 2 thin sheets and a blanket. No comforter or thicker blanket. -Construction noise
