First time staying at a hostel. And it was epic!! The setting to start with was off the chain! Super great staff, most of which stay on site, very helpful and knowledgeable. Other guests were super awesome as well. Everything was just super chill and relaxing! Lots of bars, restaurants, entertainment, and, YES, alot of dispensaries close by. Rooms, bathrooms, and common areas super clean. I will definitely be coming back!

The bar noise was well insulated and minimal. 02:00 curfew plainly stated. I think there were two staff members during night. Fellow guests were young to muddle age, a few women, not partying. Wildland firefighter and other engaging people talking at kitchen table. I was asked for out of town I.D. so they may have policy against guests living locally. As in many older buildings, steep full story stair entrance. Streets with food trucks, Greek and Mediterranean. Polite inoffensive homeless panhandlers. I don't know Denver well but did not get impression of bad neighborhood. Any Urban venture at night, walking in pairs maybe good idea. Several fairly nice looking bars next door and around the corner. Clean bedding, rooms, shared lavatory and shower. If you have never stayed at a Hostel you need to at least once. I hope to be back. I give no more than 20% of my ratings 5 stars. I am glad the Hostel institution is well represented.

I came to this hostel for the reviews. Pro: The Service was excellent staff are great. Location from Union Station tram and buses not too far but a 3-4 blocks away but not too close either. I stayed on a Saturday night. Secure doors with digital number passwords rooms and bathrooms. Very rustic and wooden environment not the actual bunks. Pretty clean rooms and bathrooms Cons: Located inside building with a bar restaurant. On Friday and Saturday weekends at night the whole neighborhood transfers into night life with a bar scene and people having fun, if you like that scene than stay here on the weekends. Many young people at hostel. I am sure doing the week it not half as vibrant at evening time. The guy at the friend desk that night made me aware that personal belongings like own pillows and blankets are not allowed cause of bed bugs, but I ended up getting bite twice on my arm the next day. I know when I get bed bugs I usually get big welts. I was not happy about it!! That ruined my experience!

I came here for a quick trip to Denver and this place really surprised me. The mattresses were comfortable. You have your own little space. Everyone was respectful. They're very accommodating. The place was clean. If you're used to hostels, this is fantastic! My one gripe is the outlet in my bunk was very loose. I almost had to tape down my charger to keep it on there. Other than that, it's in a fantastic location. Whenever I'm in Denver I'll definitely stop by!

Staff was amazing and very helpful. Someone helped me with my bags as soon as I got up the stairs. The bunks were incredibly comfortable and cozy. The location was great, pretty close to everything I wanted to see plus the nearby restaurants were amazing (seriously the Mexican place around the corner is to die for) I will say however try to book a room/bed on the top floor if possible. I stayed on both floors and it was a bit noisy with the bar being on the same floor.

This was my first time staying in a hostel! This place has a great inviting vibe, with a bar/kitchen common area that sets the tone of Denver. At the bar and front desk was an employee Bobby. He was handling juggling many duties with grace and style. Itā€™s obvious that Bobby can create an inviting atmosphere for those that are passing through, my next time in Denver, Iā€™ll be staying here.

Lovely hostel with a great international vibe, similar to the best of European hostels. The staff was helpful and kind, the atmosphere was inviting and the bar/lounge was a good place to meet people. Rooms are clean, towels are complimentary and they're kind enough to hold your luggage after checkout if you wanna extend your stay in the city a bit. Bear in mind the bar works until 1-2am, and music can be quite loud, but that's also the vibe of downtown Denver.

Nice hostel, conveniently located downtown near the bars and stadium. They were able to accommodate a very late check in and it was very busy, but I was able to get situated. There's a bar and hang out rooms. The bar area was loud, but the rooms were impressively insulated from the sound. Bedding was clean and beds were not bad. I would stay again.

Stayed in this hostel for two nights. Chose to stay in the girls only dorm. The cleanliness was exceptional in terms of dorm and restroom. Stay was comfortable with good beds and thermostat In the rooms. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Good vibes at the kitchen and bar. Will definitely recommend it to a solo female traveller. The location is perfect for all attractions and a short walk to the union station.

I enjoyed my stay at Hostel Fish. It's an affordable place and very near to Union Station. The staff is very nice and communicative, they helped me several times like storing my luggage before check-in, and also gave me tons of travel recommendations. In the morning there is free coffee and the kitchen is well equipped. Everything is clean and well organized. In the Evening most of the Guests meet at the Bar or go on Pub Crawls on Thursdays. Guests are very diverse and from all countries and ages. It was my first Hostel experience I will try to come back in the future.

Come here and stay for a clean and laid back experience. You'll meet people from all walks of life. Very happy to have stayed here. The bathrooms were super clean. Service is more laid back as well, so don't come into this expecting hotel style service. Come here and go with the flow.

One of the best hostel experiences I've had. I rolled in late (tired, grumpy, dehydrated, etc) and the staff was absolutely perfect. Loved the welcome, room, bar, all of it. First 'hostel' I've done in America and it has a similar vibe as all the European ones I've experienced. PS: Bobby and Victor are great.

There is a reason everyone goes to Ember I guess. Can have a drink but no smoking here. Which is weird with the nice dispensary literally next door. PLEASE DON'T NEED TO WALK OUTSIDE AFTER 2 BECAUSE THEY LOCK ALL DOORS!!!! YOU WILL BE SLEEPING OUTSIDE. (The fire department couldn't even get in). There's is no one on call or anything. That goes for late arrivals also. Please don't miss the window or your trip is ruined. Also don't go to the bathroom and been drinking at their bar and forget your key. You will be banging on the door waking all your roommates. To be honest is a nice chill place. But no service and the workers seem only to be nice to guests at the bar.

Be aware of bed bugs. Read on... Stayed 2 nights at hostel fish after finishing the Colorado Trail northbound. It was basically what I expected. Shared female dorm room was clean and was a perfect temperature, comfortable bed with privacy curtain. I slept well both nights. Having access to a mostly full kitchen (no oven) was very useful. Although a lot of the kitchen equipment is in rough shape (dull knifes, broken handles on pans). I don't expect a gourmet kitchen at a hostel and you can make things work just fine. Laundry services were available to me for $5 which was extremely convenient. Showers and bathrooms were clean and very nice, plus they sell a range of toiletries at the front desk for good prices. This place has a bar that is open until 2am each night and they play loud music. However, this is well communicated on their website and I was willing to accept this potential drawback when I purchased a room. You will need good ear plugs if you aren't partying yourself. There are 2 main reasons I am giving only 3 stars and I hope this is read by management.... 1. This hostel is located in a pretty sketchy area. I walk everywhere and I did not feel particularly safe in this area. Additionally, there was a lot of broken glass all over the sidewalks. Obviously, this is out of the hostels control but it is something to consider. 2. I did get a couple bed bugs bites and will have to bag/seal and heat all of my belongings when I get home to prevent spreading them. YES, I am certain. I have a lot of experience with bed bugs and am very diligent about looking for signs and symptoms of them wherever I travel.

I've stayed at a few hostels over the years & you never know what you're going to get. The price point & location are great. The front desk staff & bathrooms are great. However, i ended my stay a day early because of the insane levels of noise. My first night, the bars music was piping through everything until 2a (quiet hours begin at 2a). I thought it was because it was a Saturday night. However, on Sunday night, the music was still BLARING at 3a. I ended up finding a speaker in the bathroom & turning it off myself. I cant afford another night of no sleep, so i ended my trip early & rebooked my flight at 3:30 this morning. I used noise cancelling AirPods & a sound machine, but that still didn't work. If you're going to risk this, please ensure you have proper ear plugs. I so wanted to love this place, but two nights without sleep is too much for me.

A place that can't decide whether it wants to be a hostel or a bar. I mean, I think it is super important to have a chill out area or a bar, where people from the hostel come together. But this is a public bar. Everyone can come in. Also the bar and kitchen are in one room. It's weird to cook your dinner, while other people try to play beer pong at the kitchen table. The bar is also really noisy, you can hear the music all evening long in your room. The rooms are well. The mattress is comfortable, and it's clean.

The space is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bedding is so soft and smells nice. Most comfortable mattress I've slept on in a hostel. The staff is very helpful but not all seem to be properly trained at the bar. Central Denver can be a good place for you but the parking is difficult. Very much enjoyed my time here and would recommend.

This experience has been nothing short of a pleasure. Both the staff and visitors create an atmosphere that is only unique to this hostel. Youā€™re within walking distance of everything you could needā€”especially the bar downstairs. The bar is welcome to anyone outside the hostel as well, providing a melting pot of good laughs and great times. If youā€™re feeling spontaneous, ask one of the bartenders to make you their favorite drinkā€”youā€™ll be pleasantly surprised!

I was told I could get a free drink if I left a good review. Decided to pass on the drink to give an honest one. My very first impression of this place was me pulling in to the empty parking lot next door. Two guys pull up right next to me. They stare at me. I get out of my car, they get out of thereā€™s. One starts to walk towards me and says wait. I run away. Think I almost got mugged? So when I walk inside Iā€™m hoping for comfort and relief. What happens next is why Iā€™m actually leaving this review. While this very sweet young girl is checking me in, an older man, I assume to be the owner. Barges in the back, interrupts us and yells at this girl. He yells ā€œno no thatā€™s was disrespectful!! I wonā€™t tolerate your disrespect anymore,ā€ and something else degrading. Dude you wanna know whatā€™s making your business look bad..you! That was so unprofessional and rude, you made the girl embarrassed and me extremely uncomfortable. I donā€™t want to come back to somewhere where the employees are treated like that in front of customers or at all. So thatā€™s that. Other than that the room was hot and the windows donā€™t open? Hope this is helpful and I hope your reading this owner, and take some feedback. āœŒļø

I saw photos on the website and so we disappointed that my room did not have privacy curtains on the beds. The beds were very comfortable though. I was in a room very near the bar and the noise was not bothersome to me at all, even going to sleep around 9pm as I do. There don't seem to be enough showers that are operable and when I asked to have the shower products refilled I was told to just use the other bathroom. Overall nice stay, could use a few improvements. I did not feel the location was unsafe - there are people living in tents nearby but had zero issues walking around even solo and in the dark.

This was my first Hostel and I canā€™t imagine having picked a better one. The central bar is a really neat feature. It encourages conversation, while still being a place you can sit and work at a laptop. Thereā€™s lots of books and crannies too if you want to be more alone. Despite the bustling common area, the rooms are very well noise insulated and the bathrooms/showers were never crowded. And the location of course is fantastic. Itā€™s a 5 minute scooter ride (almost all on protected bike lanes) from Union Station.

I was working remotely for a week and needed a place to crash in Denver. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home and the privacy curtains were nice. The facility felt clean and had a bar and working area. Definitely recommended.

Located by the baseball field and blocks from Union Station. Easy to navigate to from 25. VERY HARD TO FIND SAFE PARKING and staff just told me to use spot hero. Rooms are amazing though, no outside linens needed. Better than sleeping in my car for sure. Excited to spend a few days.

Exactly what we were looking for. A buddy and I drove to Denver to stay for a week to explore the city and snowboard. This was the perfect home base for what we needed, which was somewhere to crash, shower, change and the bar being attached was a huge plus. Lots of interesting people to hang out with and meet there as well. Would easily recommend as long as you donā€™t mind shared sleeping areas.

First time staying at a hostel and had a great experience overall! We stayed in the Graffiti private room. The restrooms and showers were always clean. Shampoo, conditioner and body available in the showers. They do have other amenities for a couple of dollars in case you didnā€™t bring any. Things like deodorant, qtips, toothpaste, etc. I didnā€™t encounter many guest. Everyone seemed to be in and out, doing their own thing but no problems at all with anyone. All the staff was great and friendly. Yes, you do hear the music/atmosphere coming from the bar but itā€™s nothing too crazy. It wasnā€™t a problem for us at all. Thereā€™s a little kitchen next to the bar which guess can use. We didnā€™t use anything but i saw thatā€™s thereā€™s a fridge, stove, coffee makers, plates, cups, etc. Of course, just make sure to clean after yourself. I would definitely recommend this place to others for convenience. We went to Denver just to see the Dodgers (Go Dodgers) and this place was just 2 blocks away which was perfect.

This was my first time staying at a hostel and I couldnā€™t have chosen a better place to enjoy my stay while exploring Denver! Everyone is very kind, approachable and super helpful. The value you get out of this place is honestly insane. Iā€™d book this place in a heartbeat any day. Yā€™all are wonderful!

The location is great: itā€™s a 10 min walk from Union station, 15 min walk to Denver Market, 5 min walk to Milk Market. However, be aware that there are homeless people encampments on 20th towards Lawrence and up. The receptionists are really sweet. Though I wish someone explained me the concept about kitchen, apparently, there is a kitchen. The luggage storage is convenient as you can leave your bags there. The cleaning team do their job and the restrooms are clean (in the morning). However, maps room mirror, the one by the window, has a thick layer of dust on it. And the wall itself has some weird yellow (mold?) spots on it. Just saying. There is a complimentary shampoo - conditioner - shower gel in each shower stall, so save room in your luggage. There is a bar on a second level. You will hear some music in common area all the time, but itā€™s rather quite inside the room. As for the mattress, it was painfully soft for my liking.

We booked a last minute trip to Denver and wanted good vibes near the city center. We booked Hostel Fish because of their reviews and online presence. Upon arrival, we met Olma who was kind and very helpful. The rooms were better than we expected and the bathrooms were immaculate! Had a great time and met some great people. Highly recommend!

This spot is really dope, and the price is great. If there is 2-4 of you traveling I would recommend the graffiti room if it's available (since it's the same price). Still a shared bathroom and hostel experience with all the privacy you'd like with friends. ā„ļøThe Graffiti room has a single pane window which had us a little cold but after talking to the front desk šŸ’ššŸ’ššŸ’š they provided a space heater and also offered to turn up the thermostat if that wasn't enough.

This is the best hostel I stayed at in the U.S.A. ! The staff was helpful, friendly and engaging. The bathrooms were some the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen! Not to mention the interior design was very stylish and cool. The dorms were spacious and comfy. The atmosphere was always lively. The drinks at the bar were relatively cheap too.I highly recommend this place!

Good place to save money and have a nice stay even as a solo female traveler for work. They have all girl rooms, the decor is super cute, they sell locks $5 which was such convenient, and lots of places to lock stuff away. Loves the curtain on the bed too for privacy, each bad had its own little built in fan and lamp and charger station! 10/10 loved this place. Cute decor and bar and lots of good places to have a drink or grab a bite to eat a short walk away. Walk to train station is only 10 min too.

This hostel was so cute and comfortable, will definitely be back. The location was perfect, our beds were comfy, and everything was very clean. We enjoyed having a drink at the bar before heading out for the day. The shared bathrooms were the most spotless I've ever seen at a hostel, and the outside balcony was a great place to sit and mingle with other guests later in the night. The only gripe I have is that when we woke up in the morning our room was sweltering, we were all uncomfortably hot and the windows don't open. We informed a staff member who then had to turn on or fix the AC. But by the time it cooled down to a comfortable level, we were already wide awake. It happens! Everything else was great.

Hostel Fish is super cute, homey and welcoming. I felt very safe as a woman traveling alone. Iā€™ve now stayed here on a busy summer weekend and on a quieter weeknight and loved it both times. Will stay here every time Iā€™m in Denver if I can!

Clean. Comfortable. Safe. Easy. The staff is super helpful, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfy. Checking in and out is easy and close to everything you need. I dig the vibe as this safe environment attracts friendly travelers from all over the world. This is now one of my go-to places to stay.

I have stayed at this hostel numerous times. Check in was efficient. The fellow at the front desk works the bar as well. I asked for beer recommendation and he gave me one. This time I was in room moto on a top bunk. It was a comfortable bunk with plush comforter and pillow the right softness. The room was neither hot nor cold. A great place if you want to meet other travelers. I met a fellow who had gone hiking and was stopping there on his way to the west coast. 10/10 hands down.

Wow! I love this place. Itā€™s my first hostel experience AND stay in Denver - couldnā€™t have picked a better place. Itā€™s all very well appointed and decorated, check-in was super easy, beds were clean and comfortable, and Z was an amazing host! I will definitely be staying here next time I come through Denver, and so should you!

I stayed in a 4-bed mixed dorm, but I spent most of my time out in the shared space by the bar. The staff is terrific and the vibe is amazing. But do keep in mind, it is a hostel with a bar. If you're looking for something quiet, this isn't it. If you're looking for a fun time and an opportunity to meet great people, I highly recommend it.

Hostel fish is the best! I don't have enough words to describe how many amazing people I met in this hostel. Staffs are fun, attentive and make you feel great. Jordan is the best bartender, loving and super helpful. He will help you with everything and make you feel comfortable. He really is wonderful! Benjamin and Mitchell are amazing too! All the others I don't remember the name of were also super nice to me. I recommend the Hostel and I also believe it is the best place to have a complete Denver experience! thank you for making my experience amazing and making me fall in love with colorado!!! It is important to remember that: Inside the hostel there is an amazing bar, themed rooms, a great kitchen and a lot of style!

Cool vibes. Friendly staff. Nice rooms! I am staying in a four bed room(2 bunk beds). The decor is nice and the mattress is extremely comfortable. There are two lockers under the bed that takes the full length of the bed. There are personal outlets to charge your devices, a small shelf, light and a fan! Privacy curtains. I have a nice view of Coors Stadium āœŒšŸ¾ The showers are nice and clean. Reasonably priced and the location is on the heart of downtown Denver. I will definitely stay again no questionšŸ˜

Kind of tough finding food open late or coffee place open early nearby. I had to walk 0.9 miles to the convention center every day so I found options along the way. The hostel was a great experience, I'd go back! Music and partying did happen one night, but to be expected near a music venue.

I stayed here for a night before flying out with my boyfriend, and we were both impressed! Very clean and cozy, as well as welcoming. Itā€™s also in a really fun area, lots of bars and food to check out. We went to 1UP and played arcade games, really fun. The bathrooms were clean, and everyone was nice with great tips for exploring the city. The bunks can get a little hot if itā€™s warm out, but there are fans to help with that. Obviously, lots of compliments! Definitely a fun adventure.
