Went here last minute. Loved the food and drinks. My server Carolyn was fantastic! Sat out on the patio. I tried the Devil's on Horseback both here and at Linger. I like them a bit better at Linger because here there are nuts in them which I didn't feel worked very well. But still good.

Highly recommend. One of my favorite spots in dinner. (Vegan friendly) We have been going to here for years. Every seasonal menu does not disappoint. Ordered sweet potato fries (ask for mustard/ketchup to make vegan). Side note: Great Dijon mustard. For dinner, chose the lamb sliders and carrot & Thai curry soup. If you like lamb, these sliders are top notch. The table also ordered the Lamb entree and the fried Tofu Paneer (vegan). Side note: you can add extra tofu. The tofu was incredible. Perfect consistence and the dish is packed with flavor. Frozen margarita and beet cocktail were both very A+. Highly recommend for a meal. Reservations often required.

Service isn't super speedy, but it doesn't need to be. I guess it's all part of the slow food movement. The menu is sensitive to food allergies and tolerances, such as gluten free, vegan, though they do to not have a designation specifically for dairy free. Lots of their items have dairy. I arrived between 6 and 6:30 with lots of seats available. By the time I left, the place had filled up. Menu is not extensive, but just about everything sounded good, tasty n healthy. I ordered Pan Fried Chicken with Polenta and Brussel Sprouts with a dollop of Creme Fraiche on top. It was good and I ate it all. Skin on outside was crispy, not flabby. For dessert I ordered a Chocolate Truffle for $2, as all other desserts had dairy, which I don't want. I also ordered Espresso with a twist of lemon peel, which went great with Truffle. Everything here is clean - the food, the bench seat and table, the bathrooms, the kitchen... Kind of expensive - $67 for just me, but I'd return.

I stumbled upon Root Down when searching for the best places to eat in Denver. They had reservations available for their outdoor patio that same evening, and I am so happy that my husband and I decided to dine here. The food was excellent. Every dish we ordered was superbly crafted and surprised us with intricate, delicious flavors that were a delight. We shared four small plates, each had two cocktails (also outstanding), and each ordered a dessert and espresso. The entire meal was very reasonably priced at just under $200, and we left full and very satisfied. The menu was well thought out and accommodating, with several vegan and gluten free options. The restaurant itself is beautiful, eclectic, and elegant. We sat on the covered patio and were very comfortable. The Root Down is located just off of downtown Denver in a lovely, quiet and quirky neighborhood, which we strolled through before our meal. Street parking is crowded but doable, and there is a paid parking lot directly across the street should you care to use it. Root Down was a wonderful dining experience that we will remember and recommend to our friends. Next time we're in Denver, we will have a reservation ready for another delicious meal!

Nice people and aesthetic was modern. However, similar to all the other franchises this restaurant falls under, food was very underwhelming. Not that it wasn’t inedible, the cost vs quality was not very well set. Food cost around 15-25 and it tasted about 10 dollars worth of food. The choices were very limited for brunch, drinks were limited, and overall quality was mediocre. Fried chicken here looked so sad and flavorless. Lamb burger was alright. Nothing to write home about. French toast wasn’t too bad actually. I just wish I found a good place to eat in Denver, seems like a mission impossible.

Root down was absolutely delicious! Very unique dishes that have a blend of very flavorful ingredients. Definitely a fusion place that had dishes from multiple cultures. We did the 3-course Sunday meal and loved it! The only think I did not like about the atmosphere was the person who was constantly shouting the orders to the chefs.

My daughter and I went for Xmas eve brunch and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, bottomless mimosas were ok so we ordered a bottle of Prosecco 😊 The cranberry bliss bar was DELICIOUS. Good service & atmosphere!! Will definitely go back!!

Root Down is a great place to go for a delicious and innovative dining experience in Denver. They have a warm and inviting atmosphere, excellent service, and a great selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. The food is always fresh and delicious, and some of the popular dishes include the roasted cauliflower with harissa yogurt, the grilled branzino with fennel, and the crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon jam. I would highly recommend Root Down to anyone looking for a great meal in Denver.

Really great food and service! Plenty of vegetarian options. One thing I found a little uneasy, they have one patio that is dog friendly but only allow the dog to outside of the that patio? I found that a little odd or maybe I'm just not used to it? Just keep that in mind if you do plan to bring your furry little friend.

Denver never stops surprising me! Root down is an amazing restaurant - they really understand flavors. They have unconventional combinations in their dishes - but they all work. Splendidly!! I’d the carrot cake French toast - OMG! It was one of the very best french toasts that I’ve had! 😋😋😋 And they’d a vegan custard made of Tofu and coconut milk - I never get to eat dessert since the vast majority of them have dairy in them. And, when I do get vegan options they’re not very good. But the miso caramel custard was heavenly! I loved the umami of the miso coming through a dessert topped with chewy ginger candy, crunchy sage leaves and crispy apples! Sigh!! 😋😋 My partner had the breakfast burrito - it was delicious too! We also ordered a side of vegetarian green chili - also yummy! 🙂 One thing though - all of us in our group weren’t very impressed with our drinks. I’d ordered the coconut ginger fizz and it ended up being too heavy on the lime for my taste. But the bartender was kind enough to remake the drink for me, which I subsequently liked - as the drink was a bit unique and I liked the play of those flavors. And a huge shout out to our waitress - Grace! A real sweetheart! 😊 If you’re in Denver - go here!! Just plan ahead and get on their waiting list! We didn’t call/book ahead and had to wait for ~40 minutes! But the food was worth it.

Root Down in Denver beckons the hungry traveler with an unapologetic fusion of flavors. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill restaurant; it’s a culinary escapade that slaps conformity in the face. From the kitchen’s rebellious embrace of local, organic produce to the menu’s uncharted territories of global influences, Root Down is a rebellion against culinary monotony. Step into this den of gastronomic audacity, and you’ll find yourself on a journey. The dishes aren’t just plated; they’re stories from the streets of flavor-rich locales. It’s a rollercoaster for your taste buds, a rebellion against the mundane, and a celebration of the diverse tapestry that is food. The ambiance is an artful chaos, where urban cool meets the warmth of a neighborhood joint. It’s loud, it’s alive, and it’s unapologetically Root Down. If Anthony Bourdain were here, he’d raise a glass to this culinary insurrection, to the chefs unafraid to push boundaries, and to a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. Cheers to a place that feeds not just your hunger but your wanderlust for the unexpected.

The food was absolutely fantastic - flavors, textures, presentation, everything! Service was beyond compare as well, and the atmosphere was elevated casual and fun. Our party of six diners for Sunday brunch truly enjoyed our meal at Root Down. Next time we'll have dinner - looking forward to that!

This place is such a vibe. The interior is so funky, I love it. The food was superb! Ahh The mushroom herb omelette was to die for and the chicken was delish! I also enjoyed a coconut water beverage which was amazeballs. I highly recommend. It was worth the wait time.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Menu was versatile, yet intentional. I had the Rockfish Tom Gha, my friend had the NY strip, off the summer menu. We also had the ginger coco fizzes (coconut milk, ginger syrup, sparkling water). All were delicious. Would return to try the cocktails, highly recommend

This place was highly recommended to me and it did not disappoint. Service was incredible, Gigi went above and beyond in making me and other guests feel comfortable. Drinks were on point and the small bites were phenomenal amongst a wide range of menu options. Great vibe to the physical space too!

We have dined here before and enjoyed it. We did takeout for the first time and were a bit shocked at how little food we received especially considering how much it cost. This was 62$ for two entrees. One of us would have been hungry after eating both. We had cook our own meal and this ended up being an appetizer on a night we did not plan to cook.

Very cool place. Al was a fantastic server. We sat outdoors in October and it was lovely. The outdoor seating feels like part of the restaurant, not just outdoor furniture. The food was not cheap but delicious.

Great service with a chill quiet vibe. Had an amazing breakfast with a friend, tried lots of food and were treated very well. Definitely recommend checking out this place. I’ll have to try dinner next time.

Our daughters graduation celebration dinner last night at Root Down was amazing. Paloma’s to start we’re the best we’ve had in Denver. The shared plates; ribs, scallops, risotto were off the chain. Rock fish and chicken entrees were full of flavor. Best part of the experience was our server Sarah. Thanks a ton, can’t wait until the next time. Peter

The flavors are rich, complex, and melt in your mouth delicious. One of the best dinners out we’ve had in a long time! Their gluten free offerings are incredible and service was stellar. Don’t pass up the gluten free banana cream pie!

Super cozy atmosphere. Delicious and creative food. I have a rule about not ordering chicken at restaurants (it's never THAT good) and Root Down changed my mind! Some of the best desserts I've had in awhile too. I really enjoyed our servers honesty and the pacing of the meal as well. Def get a reservation if you're going--it was packed on a Weds!

Lively, Saturday brunch spot with super friendly staff, from the moment I walked in! Plenty of indoor/outdoor space and welcoming bar. Bartender Annie provided first-class service. Music was on point as well. Pic is of the mushroom herb omelet, jam on the side and I added the bison strip, medium well, a must-have! I don't live close but will go out of my way to come back and visit. This is what Denver is all about! Delish!

A wonderful experience for our anniversary. The food was complex, balanced, and exciting. Delicious oven roasted chicken with thoughtful accents. The service was very pleasant. Sara was calm and welcoming. With my view into the kitchen, I could see happy chefs having fun, with focus, preparing great dishes. We loved our experience and will certainly be recommending Root Down to our friends.

Root Down is an excellent spot to visit, as well show off some of the delicious spots that calls Denver home. I’ve eaten at Root Down several times and have enjoyed my time there. The restaurant is consistent and the ambience is very pleasant. My only nit at Root Down is the food isn’t that exciting, or there isn’t that dish or two that I crave and must come here to enjoy. Again, the food is delicious and the staff are professional, but my hope going forward is Root Down start to own some signature dishes. The menu items are common amongst other places with similar vibes.

Love the philosophy of this place. Company being owned by the employees. Most of the ingredients are organic and farm to table model. You can request to make your food and drink vegan. The place is also cool and hip! The only downside is very very expensive! I wish they pay their servers enough though that customers don’t have to tip.

Thank you for the wonderful dining experience, yum!! And the vegan chocolate truffles were definitely a great treat to end such a delicious meal!
