Never met an Illegal Pete’s I didn’t LOVE. This location has all the elements: great indoor and outdoor seating, eye-popping mural art, chill & efficient staff, and of course good, affordable food & drink deals. Pretty sure it used to be a classic IHOP A-Frame as well. See you again real soon old friend 👍🏼

2022 February 20 came here to eat from a long day of work with my family I’m a Sous chef at postinos had my two kids and wife experience really good . Good 4 and half star place to eat at. Rice was a little bit hard and prep could of been done better with tomatoes. But other that that team they have working is great. Kitchen clean, sani buckets in place and gloves on great thing to see when you about to eat at places. Busy but service didn’t take that long. Not sure if prep minced all the ingredients in the picó correctly or peppers not sure if there supposed to be julian.

Just left at 10:29pm on 4/21. Ordered dinner and ate it at the bar for a couple margs, opened a tab and left it open. Boyfriend orders next round and closed out right away. Waited for my tab… watched the bartender ‘close out his drawer’ as he walked by me half a dozen times as we stared, done eating, drinks empty. Finally get his attention and ask - he ‘closed out his drawer.’ No receipt or explanation since we were clearly waiting in an empty restaurant. Went to check my bank statement to see what my bill was and the automated tip he added on. 25% added tip. We felt like he intentionally did this, prior to confirmation. Just why? Thanks for last call? Food was good on the restaurant side, just don’t give the shorter guy with long dark hair your extra time.

$2.69 for a salsa size side of guacamole? That is just ridiculous and I’ve never been charged for it before tonight. This made my steak bowl with green chili and side of guac over $18. I understand everyone is raising their prices in the wake of inflation but that is just outrageous.

We eat here often! Food is usually consistently good (we've had a few instances where it wasn't great) and the service is great. Great place to sit outside or watch sports. Also, they have a yummy brunch menu on the weekends

I’m a regular here and a big fan. Every single part is just a bit better than competitors, the pricing is good, and the bar rocks. Free guacamole sub for dairy yet another thing better than the competition. Highly recommended.

Took a random, kid-free date here on a Friday and had a ball. I've ordered here with Door Dash so I knew the food was bomb. But the vibe was so chill, playing a good mix of older hip hop and adult alternative. We sat outside along Colfax and people watched as we enjoyed our food. The drinks were poured potent enough that we decided to hang longer. Worth a return visit!

Lived in Denver Metro for 28 years and just tried Illegal Pete's. Will not be the last time. Working in Denver over the summer, a friend recommended IP's so I decided to try. Read their bio and saw the local farms they work with; locally sourced? Can't beat that. I had a taco salad with the Mexican Coke simmered pork(yum), cilantro lime rice and summer squash, fresh guacamole and queso. Portions are nice, pork is delicious and everything is fresh and yummy. Delivery was fast with tracking texts. I recommend trying Illegal Pete's if you haven't. They have a breakfast menu too.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and generally such a cool spot! What makes it though are the staff here, genuinely such great people and so friendly always up for a chat. We’re visiting the state from the UK and they had plenty of recommendations for where to visit. They just wanted us to have a great time here 😌

My 1st time here and the food was just OK. Burritos are big but for $10-14 for just a burrito depending on what you get inside, it can get a bit pricey. Nice layout with a big open patio and a good draft beer selection. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Had a great time at Illegal Pete’s. My biggest takeaway was how inexpensive drinks were. In addition to inexpensive drinks, the food was good, the bartender was really nice and they had a good beer selection. The biggest highlight had to be the bathroom mirrors, because the restroom had two mirrors instead of one which meant two mirror selfies.

The breakfast tacos and burritos keep me coming back every time I'm in town! This location had a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating and very cool atmosphere with seating inside as well. A huge bar! A large parking lot in back. We had super friendly service and they even pointed us in the direction of a great local coffee shop.

On a hot summer day, it was the outside patio with water sprayers drew us into this establishment. The atmosphere, on a Sunday afternoon, was high energy, more crowded than is comfortable and too loud for conversation, but folks appeared to be enjoying themselves in large groups, families, and couples tucked in corners. The menu was basic with burritos and tacos at the center. The food and portions were decent for the price. The service was quick and friendly as we made our way down the buffet style line. It isn't a bad spot to stop if you're more about socializing than eating.

The atmosphere of this place was cool from the start, especially the small details like random stickers all over. 💙 Also workers were very helpful when we customized our own burritos.

Always such good food. I always forget how good it is. I don't know why I don't go more often. I had a great steak burrito. Everything in it tasted good even the satued onions from the fajita veggies. I greatly dislike the texture of onions and try to weed them out because I love the bell peppers but missed some and yeah texture still sucked but they tasted so good. Lol most of the time I don't like the taste either. So like I said no complaints. Need to go more often.

This might be one of the best places on earth. (I thought I died and went to heaven but I know I don't have a reservation there) The green chili here is delicious (got it to smother my burrito). The food all around is so tasty. Everyone is very kind. And the drinks are delicious.

Illegal Pete’s catered a party for one of my clients – and it was divine. Fresh guacamole. Crisp tortilla chips. Spicy salsa. And so many other things to add. Totally recommend! 🤩

Usually, I have no issues with Illegal Pete’s. I really love the food however this time I decided to treat myself and get a queso smothered burrito. Well, I paid 4 extra dollars for nothing. Picked up my bag and headed home. Got home to discover the burrito not only wasn’t smothered but didn’t even have queso in it. Tried to call to talk to someone multiple times and explain what happened but the phone was off the line. This may seem harsh but I absolutely hate ordering something and paying extra to get home and find you didn’t get what you paid for.

Went here after the pride parade and while it was extremely busy, the food was still super good and it was a pleasant experience. It was reasonably fast, and there were places to sit. The food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.

I'm visiting from Chicago, this was my first time visiting this place and I will definitely be back! Food was really good and the margaritas did not disappoint. I'd be excited to come back when it's warmer to enjoy outside too. Definitely check it out!

The food was decent. Nothing too special or too bland. We did not have any alcoholic beverages. Probably it is more suitable for drinking and having food on the side and not the other way round. Noticed that they have a great collection of beers. Liked the location, building and ambience.
