One of the best temples I have seen till date. There are many deities in the temple. This place has a very large campus area, with different small locations for different deity to worship. There is a small river flowing through the temple in which you can step in and walk through the rocks (this is not recommendes, if you are sure that you walk without your shoes over the rocks, then only, you should give it a try). One reason for this name is that there is always water dripping through the ceiling inside the main Shiv Temple.

Very divine and beautiful temple. There are few stories behind this temple. It's the birthplace of Ashwatthama. The caves are natural and beautiful. It's shows the real beauty of nature. Water drops from the ceiling of the cave trickle down over the shivling in a continuous downpour, making for an interesting spectacle. Very peaceful place to spend some good time.

Amazing place temple located inside cave. There is big parking . Two way of entry one from road side and one from parking side .Their is a lift for aged person or who can't walk. For payment of tickets there is no cash counter , a QR code sticker stick on wall of lift , you have to scan and pay the charges. Crystal clear water flowing near temple very relaxing.

Tapkeshwar Mahadeo is a unique place to visit. Originally, there is a complex of many small temples within a large cave. All well maintained. Then there is a large temple of recent origin. The best part is that a fast moving stream that flows between the two temples. One can sit there with legs in the stream and pray.

Tapkeshwar mandir is in the lap of nature. The main mandir is on the bank of the river inside an ancient cave. A very beautiful temple of lord Shiva is in the cave. You will feel water drops coming from stone. The place is very beautiful. There are lift facilities available at a very cheap rate. You can do round trips in just 20 rupees. The other way by stairs. Please go on weekdays to avoid rush. Car parking is available near the temple. You can get all the worship stuff near shops at very low rates. If you have old people in groups use lift not stairs. You must go once there. You will feel peace.

One can find the God's idols everywhere in the caves. Deep caves and hidden places are what we get to see. Make sure you don't have any back pain before going here.

I always love to visit these kinds of temples where you can connect with God with the help of nature. This is the perfect place. I would recommend visiting this place whenever you are in Dehradun. We spent around 45-50 mins over here, it was a very nice time for us. I don't think there is a ticket to entery. We went on a weekday and we haven't paid a single Rs. for the entry. This temple is a symbol of Swayambhu Shivling of Lord Shiva.

Tapkeshwar is a famous holy temple of Lord Shiva on the banks of seasonal Asan river near Dehradun. Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, known to have one of the oldest Shivalingas in the cave, is located 6.5 km from Dehradun city. Since drops of water continuously fall on the Shivalinga, it was named 'Tapkeshwar'.

The area surrounding the Tapkeshwar temple is a beautiful spot where one can witness the beauty of Mother Nature. There are forests and adjoining hills. If you are more of the adventurous kind, you can go trekking. It is safe and a great way to explore the place. Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple is a serene place with greenery all around. Some visitors carry food and go on a little picnic with family and friends. After the temple visit, it is a great way to spend time. The surrounding area has quite a few shops from where you can pick up some souvenir. The scenic beauty of this place is well known and nature lovers never fail to be mesmerized. Shutterbugs can grab their camera and go on a photo walk to capture the breath-taking view.

Very religious place. A place to find calm and peace. A river flows where you can sit and relax and feel the sound of water. Ample parking space available here. Parking fee is Rs 50/-. There is also a lift to reach below. For elderly people and people with knee pain, it is very helpful. To reach there you have to take a staircase. Outside the temple lot of shops are available to eat, to purchase parsad etc. Inside the temple it is very calm and peaceful. Lots of other temples are also there. Mata Vaishno Devi gufa mandir is also there. Om Namah shivay🙏

Very calm place. And the temple is so cool inside. Feel good ambiance... How to reach Tapkeshwar when you re in Dehradun? - catch a TATA Magic and get down at Gadi (would cost ₹10-₹20 only) - There's a small walk and only 1 km, you will reach the temple - if coming by vehicle, theres still a vehicle road of same distance and parking too available at the temple premises Temple is situated in a town area and not so remote. Definitely be careful in walking inside temple as the floor is slippery due to constant dripping of water. Old aged people should be more careful.

Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dehradun has ancient origins, linked to Guru Dronacharya's penance. The temple is built within a cave where water drips onto the Shiva Linga, symbolizing Lord Shiva's blessings. Renovations have modernized the site, attracting pilgrims and tourists. Maha Shivaratri is a notable festival here. Local legends and the scenic setting contribute to its charm as a religious and tourist destination.

It is a lovely, calm place to visit. Loved exploring the cave temples, although the place is a little crowded. Also it should be kept in mind that summer is probably not the best time to be visiting this place - and if you come here make sure you are capable of walking and climbing stairs for a long distance. Overall a place worth checking out and explored ✨

Embarking on a spiritual journey with my family to Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Dehradun was nothing short of a magical experience. The tranquil setting, coupled with the rich historical significance, made it an ideal destination for a family retreat. **Pros:** 1. *Family Bonding:* The serene surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for quality family time. We immersed ourselves in the spiritual vibes of the temple, fostering a sense of unity and peace among us. 2. *Picturesque Atmosphere:* Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the Asan River, the temple's natural setting added a touch of enchantment to our visit. The picturesque landscape served as a beautiful backdrop for family photos, creating lasting memories. 3. *Cultural Enrichment:* Exploring the historical significance of the temple offered an enriching experience for both adults and children. Learning about the legends and myths associated with Tapkeshwar Mahadev deepened our understanding of the cultural heritage. **Cons:** 1. *Crowded Festive Periods:* While the festive atmosphere added to the charm, the temple's popularity meant larger crowds during special occasions. Navigating the crowds with family required patience, but the overall experience made it worthwhile. 2. *Mind the Steps:* As we explored the temple premises, we encountered steps and uneven pathways. Families with young children or elderly members need to be cautious, ensuring everyone can navigate the terrain comfortably. **Recommendation:** I wholeheartedly recommend Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple to families seeking a blend of spirituality and natural beauty. The temple's serene ambiance and historical significance make it a perfect destination for a peaceful family getaway. Consider planning your visit during weekdays to avoid the festive rush, and don't forget to capture those precious family moments amidst the divine surroundings. This hidden gem in Dehradun is truly a treasure for those seeking a meaningful and memorable family experience.

An enriching experience of visiting a conglomerate of temples partially made out of natural caves and partially constructed. The pujaris were taking good care of temples. Though the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiv but other deities were also located in different temples. Best part was no beggars around the temples. Being located near cantonment area, the temple does a great job of dedicating weekly prayers for soldiers and martyrs. A great and noble thought by the pujaris towards defenders of country's defenders. Large parking area with nominal charges. Provision for lift for people who have problem in climbing stairs. Needs a little attention towards cleanliness.

Shiva worshipers must go here. The shivling is in the cave.the river next to temple is free flowing.there are many temples in the same vicinity. Once you remove footwear you will have to be careful walking because during rainy marble and other floor is very slippery. After getting out of transport outside temple you will have to go through 50 steps to reach the main temple area. Hit like 👍 if you like my review.

A nice natural place to visit.......the presence of natural dripping water makes it even more serene. There is a lift for the elderly and a river adjoining the lower area. Can get slippery during the rainy season as there is solid marble flooring and chances of slippage are there. The elderly need to practise caution during their visit

Very peaceful and divine cave temple of Lord Shiva. It's one of the wonders of mother earth as the water continuously drips over the Shivlinga (one of the oldest). The cave is known as Drona Cave due to its mythological connection to Mahabharat. Must visit place of Doon.
