Best Historical city
Pakistan’s rich heritage is in ruins and decline, owing to the blind eye the government has turned towards enriching, protecting and preserving the cultural sites. The Dipalpur Fort is situated 25 kilometres away from Okara. The fort has been distinguished for being the site for several battles in the 13th and 14th Centuries which itself is a great source of attraction for visitors and travellers. It is beautiful and simple. It was observed that the city represents beautiful religious art. In olden days, Dipalpur was surrounded by a fortified wall, rising to the height of 25 feet. The fort is situated at more than 100 acres with 25ft height and 3ft wide walls with four main gates. The site has numerous untold stories. Dipalpur was famous in the subcontinent for its 84 mosques and 84 wells.
Our city is 3000 years old and have legacy of islam because Muhammed bin Qasim also visited in 712-713 and our family also belongs to his companions and legacy continues still
I visited Depalpur Fort, also known as Dhaki, and was sad to see its condition. This old fort, located higher than Depalpur city, is now mostly ruined. Only two gates remain, and they don't look as good as they used to, even after repairs. Walking around the fort, I felt a strong sense of loss. This place was once very important, dating back to the 13th century. Now, people have built homes inside the fort, and there's no proper system for waste and sewage. The area is dirty and neglected. It's heartbreaking to see this historic site in such bad shape. Depalpur Fort is a big part of Pakistan's history and culture. I hope someone takes care of it soon and restores it to its former glory
Historical tomb situated in the center of the dipalpur district okara, very interesting place for the visitors and for those people who have interest in history and wanna seek knowledge of history.
Depalpur, also known as Dipalpur, is a great historic city and once it used to be the capital of Punjab. The 14th century AD, Feroz Shah Tughluq repaired and rebuilt this strong fort for the last time. When Zahiruddin Babur invaded the subcontinent in 1526, he also faced the greatest resistance in the fort of Dipalpur, which he acknowledged in his book Tuzk-i Babri. Dipalpur Fort has four gates. The eastern gate was named Delhi Gate, the western gate as Multani Gate, the northern gate Lahori Gate, and the southern gate Bikaneri Gate. The east and west gates are still there, but the north and south gates have been demolished. Nowadays only two gates, one bastion, and a few traces of a fortified wall are just left in almost ruins.
