I had come here to have something other than ice cream. And i found this amazing Meal at ideal cafe. They have many different types of meal options. I ordered a Chinese meal. It comes with a soup, fried rice, noodles, gobi Manchurian, and Manchurian sauce. Not very very delicious. But it's worth the price. All of this, is just for 150Rs. Paneer Tikka was also delicious.

Overrated, Overcrowded!!!!! This was my second visit and the taste and quality had dropped drastically. We have to wait in que for seats and then again to wait to order and pay and then wait to get served which makes the entire process tiring. The icecreams are good but not the rest of items. The highly overrated paneer ghee roast had no ghee in it and just chilly paste with spices. My family who had visited from Gulf were completely disappointed as we had high expectations. Hence three stars for the icecreams only

Ideals is a famous brand and has 3 4 branches all over Mangalore. There is one near the Mangalore Central railway station in Hampankatta. It was not very crowded on Friday morning but you have to wait for a long time during weekends. The place is overall a bit costly. The cost is inversely propotional to the quantity. Machine Gun costs 110 rupees and it had lots of stuffing before lockdown. But the taste was fine. Gobi Manchurian was OK but not very tasty. Cake sandwich was very tasty and worth trying for once surely.

Went along the hype of a must have eatery in Mangalore. Was thoroughly disappointed. Their idli was very dry, sambhar wasn't up to the mark. Masala dosa stuffing was fine, because it's difficult to mess with mashed masala aloo. It wasn't worth the hype and considering these are local dishes, not some fancy cuisine from some other region or country. I'm from Delhi and anyone wants to know the context I wound sum up it as a substandard version of haldirams.

I went to this restraunt for breakfast , I heard Mushroom masala Dosa, Machine gun Sandwich and Parfait Were one of the famous Dishes served here So I Gave this three dishes a try! The restraunt is full Air conditioned and cool , sanitized , and staff here is kind and here you should not order your food to the waitor instead you must order it directly to the recipient . There are two floors in this restraunt . The Mushroom Masala Dosa here is just Sooo Yum!! Masaledaar and Spicy 😋.Just you order it and thank me later!😁 The machine gun Sandwich is also somewhat good but it's not that special ! It's a just a long sandwich with vegetables like carrot , Cabbage , Capsicum and it's filled heavily with some different kinds of sauce and is also filled with crunchy french fries. AND it costs like 80 rupees but when you dine in it costs 90 rupees . SO I would suggest you not to to order this as it's not worth! The parfait is a Mixed Combination of Different Kinds flavour of ice cream and Fruits . It includes pieces of Apple , pineapple, banana, and topped with a candy cherry. If you asking me I wouldn't suggest you to buy this since it's tasty but it's not that special and it's price is 120 rupees so in my opinion its not worth your money! Instead you can eat delicious and premium ice creams in Baskin Robbins or Get Natural Ice creams From The Naturals just below 70 or 60 rupees below! So Overall A very Good Restraunt to eat with your friends and Families For Breakfast and Dinner ! And I would strongly recommend to bring extra cash with you since when I found the price of the food in the menu like machine gun Sandwich was priced 80 rupees then they later charged all my foods and including the sandwich 8 or 10 rupees extra for tax!! And if you come here for Breakfast I would really strongly recommend eating that Delicious Mushroom Masala Dosa!😋

It has two floors - having enough seating capacity but still crowded due to popularity. Managed by all female staffs - they are young, on learning curve - need some more training. Just missed Morning Special Combos - as these are available till 10 AM only. Ordered for Machine Gun Combo, Ideal Cafe Special Combo, Sandwitch Combo and Coffee. Orders need to be given on the billing counter. With Machine Gun, Grape juice with ice-cream was served - which was very good. For Sandwitch Combo, Burger and Waternelon Juice were excellent. Soya Ghee Roast, Paneer Preparation, Veg Cutlet in Ideal Cafe Special Combo were very good. Needs some attention on order checking at customer table & food distribution.

We ordered lime juice, parfait, gudbud, cutlet and spicy french fries. All were yummy and delicious except french fries. Here we have to order the food at the cash counter and food will be served on the table. It would be nice if they could place tissue papers on all tables and fill it regularly. One more suggestion is that it would be better if they cut open the ketchup edge sauce and serve it.

We ordered Machine Gun Sandwich, Schezwan Sandwich, Carrot Halwa, Mangalore Buns. A must recommended is Machine Gun and Mangalore Buns. The machine guns were super crunchy and tasty, and the Mangalore Buns were super hot and yum. The carrot halwa was also pretty good. However the Schezwan Sandwitch was normal. This cafe is a lil pricey but the rush was less so everything turned out great.

Delicious food n ambience , such a nice place to be there in all the aspects like cleanliness, spacious and the service is very good. If you prefer having beverages,snacks and ideal ice cream all in one place then ideal cafe would be the best choice. Giving it a 5 star as I have visited this place lot many times and in all the ways I would rate it to the max.

Transportation facilities are easily available. Sufficient parking space is available. During rush time getting a table will be difficult. Seating is available on 1st floor and on ground floor. Outside a take away counter is also there. Online delivery is also available. Tried Machine gun Sandwich, and deserts. Quantity and quality is really good. Sandwiches are economical, dosa items are bit expensive. Choco lava cake with ice cream, Machine gun Sandwich are recommended items. Service is also good. Limited seating capacity is the major issue, other than that everything is ideal.

But, even by the ice-cream standards, they use very high levels of sugar. Found both the thiramisu and that fruit shake extremely sweet and honestly, I disliked them. . Chats and other non-sweet items are good.

It is a good cafe with a wide variety of options from south Indian to chinese. The ice screams here are superb. One of the burgers that I loved was the machine gun. If you go there, dont miss out on the machine gun. The prices are reasonable and worth it.

Ice-cream? Absolutely LOVE it! Food? It's average. I haven't really tried many dishes here, but I'm not a huge fan of the ones that I've tried. I used to love the Machine Gun. It was worth few years ago. But now they've increased its price and it doesn't taste that great either. The bun they use these days are hard and they crumble. But it still fills your stomach. Coming to the ambience: The building is two-storeyed, spacious and well lit. The cleanliness is okay. But the staff aren't even close to Friendly. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but they are kinda like robots. I have no idea why. They could improve on that.

Nice place to beat the heat of the day, my personal preference is stick to "special Gadbad" and dry fruit cocktail ice-cream (not in the image) everything else I felt is overly sugary or overdone to a extent, these two are true to their name and go down well even after a heavy meal, that's just my personal preference, feel free to indulge and discover what suits your taste buds best, a word of caution, steer clear from the Veg Burger or I like to call it a massive Aloo bun! If u r a 1st time visitor u will be bamboozled by this process. But overall Ideal Cafe still has a charm and going great in this decade 👍👍👍👍

The very popular hometown brand Ideals started their own cafe, to serve small eats, Mangalorian breakfast and other snacks at the heart of the Mangaluru city, located at Hamapakatta. Good place with enough dining capacity, well maintained, clean and hygienic. Undoubtedly go for ice-creams, you'll not get heartbroken. Other small eats were okay okay. Hard to find dining space, visit during less rush hours. No designated parking lot.

They serve the best icecreams over here We ordered parfait, special gudbud and dilkush. All were yummy and delicious Here we have to order the food at the cash counter and food will be served on the table.

I've been here multiple times. Even though their ice creams are legendary, over the period of time the quantity has reduced while the price skyrocketed. Their snacks are also good, I recommend their cutlet, samosa, buns and Alphonso mango juice. During the peak time it is difficult to find a place to sit and might encounter long ques. It is required to pay for the food upfront and they will deliver it to the table. It is weird but works somehow. Among the ice creams my favorites are tiramisu, dryfruit cocktail, beehive, parfait and chocolate fantasy.

This place is my go to comfort food and ice cream... A vegetarian place with soooo many options it's a heaven when the combo is with ice cream.. The place is CLEAN and the staff is very friendly.... A self service setup.... A must visit whenever in Mangalore

Best place for ice cream 🍦 Pizza sandwich was less of salt n spice(chilli flakes) which taste no good 5/10 Cutlet ok 6/10 Machine gun(submarine) stuffing for this is french fries with mayonnaise little bit of veggies(they say stuffing as cocktail), I don't recommend to try this 4/10 Watermelon 🍉 juice is nice 7/10 Tiramisu is good but now price has gone up n quantity has come down a lil, but quality is always the same. 9/10 Fruit salad with icecream 8/10 good

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at the ideal cafe, appreciating the delectable food and inviting ambiance. The hygienic environment and attentive service added to the positive experience. However, it was disappointing that the cafe lacked its own washrooms, and directing patrons to nearby public facilities proved inconvenient, especially considering their less-than-desirable condition. Despite this drawback, the overall charm of the place leaves a lasting positive impression.
