A great burger joint to go to. Quality burgers and sides. The tater tots were amazing and not many places serve tater tots so I was very happy. Burgers were great too really was a quality burger. Good selection of sauces and drinks too. The lemonade pint I got was very nice. This place is great - the burgers is great and they also have some interesting other starters and chicken burgers which I haven't tried but for now I have given it 4 stars because it doesn't quite compare to Bohns burgers just opposite and I am yet to try more of the menu.

An interesting menu with burgers that aren’t ‘basic’. Had the Swiss Tony which was tasty. The beef patty itself could be more flavourful in my opinion but still good overall. I love that it comes with fries so you don’t have to order it separately. My friend had the special- Honey Side Up, which had chicken tenders, a beef patty and bacon. Surprisingly it wasn’t too much and the chicken was very good. I think it’s quite reasonably priced for what you get as well

We had a brilliant night at Fat Hippo! Great atmosphere created by the welcoming staff. Food was delicious and arrived in good time. We were too full to try any of the desserts but the burgers were great (we had the Hans Gru-burger and the PB & JJ) We also really enjoyed the fried pickles. We didn't use the loos so I can't tell you what they were like (sorry!) The onlt reason we didn't give the Fat Hippo 5 stars was due to the slippy stairs. Not sure if they are always like this but I did not feel safe. It needs sorting. To avoid this, ask for a seat downstairs.

Good food, not bad prices either. Visited on a bank holiday so wasn't able to get the 2 courses for £14.50. Would recommend to book, was lucky enough to get a table but everyone after us was told its a 2 hour+ wait. The beef is better than the fried chicken.

Really impressed with this place! The range of burgers (as it is considered a burger restaurant) is impressive. You don't need to worry about any dietary requirements as each option can be tailored to cater for your specific needs. The staff are friendly, accommodating and were very knowledgeable of the menu - something you don't get too often these days. I went as part of my work team's Christmas lunch and they really did go the extra mile for us (and we're not a fussy bunch!). The burger I had was appetising, full of flavour and looked inviting from the moment it was brought out. Even the side dishes were seasoned perfectly. There was an extensive range of drinks, offering unusual options (which I'll need to go back to try) to go with your meal. You won't be disappointed. All in all, great value for the food and drink on offer and, when you throw in the lively atmosphere combined with staff qualities, you'll hopefully be as impressed as I was. Looking forward to my next chance to visit.

The food was amazing!! So so tasty with a wide choice to choose from. The ultimate comfort food anyone can ask for. Just the cheese balls for example, they’re huge and crispy on the outside with a really generous amount of cheese. At least you get exactly what is said on the menu and the portions are big! The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of a wait when we went but it did look quite busy. This is a must try and I definitely recommend it!

Great place to eat, I have been a couple of times now and service and food have been excellent. The burgers are outstanding, there's so many burger places in Nottingham now, is day this was probably my number 2 only because they don't have a great choice of beers (for me) that said, milkshakes are excellent, and they do have bottles of blue moon. Burgers taste great, double patties everywhere, buns are so good, the toppings on the one I had today were great. Loads of seating indoors and out for when the weather's good. Music was good indoors and not overly loud. Toilets are clean. Waiting staff are all really friendly and didn't leave us hanging about waiting for the bill, food came out really quickly and it was all hot and fresh. Great place to eat, highly recommended.

Great place for gourmet burgers and fries. It was only just opening time when we arrived but you could tell it would be a fun place to eat. The service was excellent and I had a fat hippo burger and festive fries with cheese and Gravy. The food tasted great and I had a mars attacks milkshake that was so nice and somehow not over sweet as you would expect from the name. As a burger lover I couldn't fault the place and would be happy to eat there anytime I'm in Nottingham.

Really nice place! The staff were really friendly and the place was really clean. Music was quite loud (which may be an issue to some people) but really added to the atmosphere. Good vegan options, limited gluten free options (particularly dessert). Would definitely recommend!

We had a mixed experience. Firstly we walked in and was told you have to book. We then had to go outside and book online to then walk back in and be shown to our table?! The chicken starter was great and very tasty. We both had chicken burgers as mains. My daughter swapped her fries for waffle fries and they were super good. My burger was a little flavourless and my cut fries were a tad bland too. I ordered some sriracha mayo to spice things up. My daughter loved her hangover burger. Portion sizes were very good and the staff were good as well. Prices were pretty good as well based on what food we got.

I have to say the service received was great and we had a friendly greeting. We were informed straight away of some delivery delays, and made aware of the items that were not available before we were seated. The food came out pretty quickly but it was pretty quiet inside. The burgers were well presented and decent portion sizes. They are definitely not stingy on the fried and you get a good portion to eat with the big burgers. I did find the burger quite greasy and the combo was good but lacked in terms of balance of flavours for me. The onion rings inside the burger were very crunchy and did not go soggy. The meat patty had a nice flavour to it as well. Overall it was a good burger, the fries were really good, cooked to perfection, nice and crispy and had a lovely seasoning on them.

I found this restaurant by chance and was surprised by the hospitality of the staff and the cozy atmosphere of the place. Everyone was attentive and quick in delivering orders. The burger surprised me, the taste was pleasant and there was a variety of extra sauces to complement it. The fries portion was very generous, I really recommend it to everyone.

Amazing food and really good atmosphere with an outdoor bit. Vegan burgers here are literally unreal, especially the fake chicken ones. My friend ordered a real fried chicken burger and said it was the best fried chicken she's ever had. Our server Fred was really lovely, checked up on us to see if we wanted more drinks and everything.

Really loved this place. A bit of a hidden gem, opposite the Broadway cinema. Food was delicious, portions huge, great atmosphere. What really impressed our party about this place though was the service. Super friendly, attentive & efficient. Nothing was too much trouble, Alex & Jenny went above and beyond to ensure we had great birthday celebrations for my best friend. Love this place & will 100% be back!

First time visit today whilst in town (our last treat before the normality of work starts tomorrow) and glad we did, quickly shown to our table, very friendly staff who went through the menu with advice of what’s popular etc, quick service and a great meal and generous portions 😎 will definitely eat here again :)

Food is absolutely incredible, I literally go out of my way to come to his place for just the cheese balls alone!! All the food is incredible, tasty alcoholic milkshakes and really not outrageous prices for what you get! 10/10 would recommend this incredible restaurant.

Nice clean place with friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Good food. Found the frickles to be soggy though. Only other criticism was tables were so close to each other that I could not sit comfortably without hitting the gentleman behind me. To be honest, it was just OK, nothing amazing. Having eaten there now, probably won't return as there is loads of other places nearby to try.
