Timbre Kitchen at Vélo Wines in Tasmania's Tamar Valley region is a culinary gem that we can't stop raving about. Situated on the Vélo Wines estate, this place is a food lover's paradise. Offering a variety of relaxed indoor and outdoor dining spaces, Timbre offers great views overlooking the vineyards. What struck us first was the innovative menu, designed for sharing. Timbre offers a delightful range of dishes, from mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas to creations that celebrate fresh, locally-sourced ingredients from local producers and farmers. It's a true showcase of Tasmanian flavours. The hospitality here is top-notch. The team were not just friendly and efficient, but also impressively knowledgeable and passionate about the food and wine they serve. Their bubbly personalities added to the warmth of our dining experience. Timbre isn’t just a restaurant; it's a representation of the West Tamar community and Tasmanian hospitality. Their dedication to local produce and collaboration with nearby growers and suppliers is admirable. The result is a menu that bursts with genuine flavours and creativity. From wood-fired cooking to fermentation and pickling, every dish offers a unique blend of the familiar and the unfamiliar. In summary, Timbre Kitchen at Vélo Wines is a must visit. It's a place where passion for food, commitment to local sourcing, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere come together to create a dining experience that's both memorable and deeply satisfying. Don't miss the chance to savour the best of Tasmanian cuisine here.

Such good food!! We had a baby recently and only managed to wrangle Nanna for an hour last weekend to babysit so my wife and I could go out for a meal. We made a beeline to Timbre, the set menu is always considered and amazing and we leave discussing our favorite tastes and flavors and presentations as though we're experts. The whole team do a great job, such great service and atmosphere - I'll be 40 soon and on a good day I still consider myself to be pretty cool, but the wait staff here are SO cool. Not try hard barista with a handlebar moustache cool, more like a classy and professional effortless cool - the bloke who served us had a subtle yet intricate sleeve tattoo that made me envious, self condcious and inferior all at once. There's also a dude who I see there from time to time who might be the owner or head chef? I get the sense he's perhaps the mastermind pulling the strings - have you seen The Bear, that restaurant show on HBO? Well this dude was the Bear from the Bear show long before the Bear was even a show, right down to the white tee and scruffy hair. Well done mystery fellow if you are in fact orchestrating the whole thing - which I suspect you might be. Jokes aside, this is one of the best dining experiences you can get in Launceston, so please support this business if you get a chance.

Absolutely stunning food, made with care and the best ingredients that the team can get their hands on, utter perfection!

I was speechless throughout the dinner. Couldn't believe my palate... An exceptional meal. The quality of the ingredients (the fish was just incredible) and the perfection of the preparation were amazing. It's fine dining at its best - not trying to make something "different" for the sake of looking fancy. Just making perfect food. The staff was lovely, friendly and attentive. The location is beautiful, in the winery.

I had lunch here. Nothing impressive. And everything was super oily, too heavy and unhealthy. Don’t deserve to drive to eat here on purpose. The lamb I ordered half was fat, 1/4 was bone.🥲 The bread was the best. Vegetarian fly 3 plates: none of them was good, we even only had one bite of the rice course. Service was not good: after I ordered lamb, vego 3 plates, I asked can I order the dish from the set menu, she said yes, but the beetroot dish from the set menu turned out to be as same as one plate from the vego one. How hard for u to remind me, the vego u ordered has the same beetroot??? Feel quite disappointed, I don’t know why this place has a quite high review. If it’s 4.0 or 3.8 I think is more fair. Maybe dinner menu better?

Very nice. We had 1 of each of the shared food services. And it was a service not just thrown at you. Carefully brought out as each dish finished. The sauces were done carefully with precision and clearly made with passion. Beautiful wines and local beer to suit. Recommended venue for couples and families looking for more than just a meal, but an experience. Thank you for wonderful experience.

A hidden gem serving really beautiful food along with friendly service in a lovely setting. Just 10 min outside of Launceston - so close and convenient. Large modern open & airy dining space which opens out onto a sunny terrace overlooking the vines belonging to Velo Wines. BTW the Velo cellar door is right next to the restaurant entrance so do pop in there before or afterwards - excellent wines. The food served is all locally sourced and is beautifully prepared and presented. Dished are all made to share. We went with the banquet option - a chance to try lots of different things, and perhaps try a few things you ordinary would order for yourself! The food comes in 3 courses and there’s plenty of it. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
