Myself and my husband went to Bishops Gate overnight for our wedding anniversary last August, I remarked immediately on the warm welcome from the lovely staff who made us feel so special from start to finish. The surrounding area was very cool - Ferry Clever shop across the road and Bron for a coffee or brunch. Walking distance from everything while being in its own quirky cute area. Beautiful room. Stunning decor. Everything was fabulous.

This is the only Hotel we go to in Derry and have been many times. The staff are fantastic and nothing is a problem to them. They make you feel so welcome. Whether you have food in the bar or the main restaurant it always tastes fantastic. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The Hotel has a lot of character and is very central for walking the wall or going shopping. Can't wait to go again.

It felt luxurious. The staff were very attentive, professional and warm. There were standards on the menu delivered to an excellent level and there were also interesting things that you don't see elsewhere. Best restaurant experience in a very long time.

Staff were excellent. Very friendly, very helpful, very professional. Hotel is very nice and very handy to everything really although it is quite a small city anyway. Only slight niggle with the apartment we stayed in reduction. So the noise from the street below was quite loud. Otherwise the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely go back.

Stayed 2 nights in the deluxe king with breakfast. 👎Was disappointed that our rooms bins were not emptied on arrival as there was someone else's rubbish in there. Which they of course apologised 👎 Some towels had makeup stains. 👍They offered complimentary high-end toiletries from Rituals and mineral water on arrival. 👍The bed was luxurious and comfortable . 👍 Breakfast was beautifully prepared and was excellent

Lovely afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings (though the sparkling option wasn't offered and the cream was not clotted). Everything was expertly made and beautifully presented. It tasted delicious and the pace of service between each course was perfect. Plenty of tea refills too. Would definitely go again!

I just can't say enough about how great the Bishop's Gate was! Every single person there was delightful and so helpful. They were able to help us get a tour in that we couldn't book ourselves, and they even dropped us off to make sure we didn't miss it. Above and beyond incredible service! We had dinner and breakfast, and both were fantastic. We were even able to sneak a workout in, and the fitness center was great. We were so sad that our stay wasn't longer, and we will absolutely be back to visit.

We went to Bishop's gate hotel for a Christmas party night. The hotel is beautiful, a wonderful mix of old and new architecture. The staff were absolutely lovely, Friendly efficient & helpful.Friendly. The staff working were providing table service in the function room and bar. Drinks are a wee bit more expensive but it's worth it for the service and ambience. I look forward to staying in the Bishop's gate as I imagine it would be a lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend it

We stayed in a beautiful apartment just across the road from the hotel. All staff we encountered were fantastic, but a shout out must go to Stephanie who helped sort my card and blue book voucher issues during check in and made it an extremely pleasurable stay from the get-go. The apartment itself was very luxurious and was a great space for our young family. We visited the hotel for food and drinks and were warmly welcomed by staff. The location was fantastic, great for parking and right next to the walls for a dander. We will definitely be back. Thanks! *****

Staying at the Bishops Gate Hotel was truly one of the highlights during our trip through Europe. Everyone at the reception desk was the most welcoming and kindest staff we’ve ever encountered at a hotel! Gary in particular was just lovely and had amazing recommendations of things to do and see. We spent the morning after our stay walking the Derry walls with a cup of coffee per his suggestion and I highly recommend doing this for anyone staying here! We arrived late from Galway and unfortunately missed our dinner reservations at a local restaurant in the city. Bishops Gate kindly set us up with a late dinner reservation at their restaurant and we enjoyed a delicious 3 course dinner. The penthouse suite was stunning and extremely clean with all of the amenities you need for your stay. Our only complaint would be not having more time in Derry to stay longer! We would absolutely love to come back one day.

Lovely stay in the Bishops Gate Hotel for our Wedding Anniversary. Lovely rooms spotlessly clean. Very efficient friendly staff. Good music in the hotel on Saturday night. The only disappointment was the poor standard of the food throughout our stay. As a treat I decided to have pancakes for breakfast, these were shop bought (Dunnes Stores?) spongy and difficult to swallow. Main courses were very disappointing, very small serving of pork. Very underwhelming cuisine!

I have never stayed here yet. I have inky had a few lunches and one dinner. I find the experience is always great. The staff are friendly and appear well trained. The food has always been very nice and reasonably priced for this type of establishment. I prefer the atmosphere in the front casual dining room. You can not book for that room. They do have a secure concierge parking service which I was not aware about.

We had a lovely stay at the Bishop’s Gate Hotel. Everyone was very friendly and super helpful who worked here. We also appreciate the restaurant allowing us to grab a late night dinner right when they were about to close after we had an overnight flight and a long drive before arriving. They were very accommodating. The food at the restaurant was also delicious with a nice selection of wines. The room was cozy and had everything we needed. The hotel is also within walking distance to some great pubs and restaurants. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking ride a hotel in the area. Thank you again for everything!

The quality of the food in The Gown was better than I have had in any restaurant for many years. Starters were outstanding. Steaks and fish courses were excellent. The service was warm, polite and professional. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, given the overall dining experience . Parking was easy. Overall, a thoroughly pleasant evening that I highly recommend.

We have always had very good food and service whether at lunch or dinner. We recently celebrated our golden anniversary with 40 relatives and friends here. There were 4 or 5 choices for the main course and everyone commented on how good the food was.

Everything we go here we are never disappointed. The food and more importantly the service from the staff are exceptional, I hope they can keep this up for a long time to come. A real must go to place!!

Great city centre hotel right beside the City's historic walls. The function rooms are great, with bar and toilet facilities. Restaurant has lovely decor. The food is delicious I highly recommend the desserts

What a fantastic hotel. The customer care was exceptional, they even went to the trouble of getting me coconut milk so I could have it with my coffee at breakfast, which was table service and a fantastic selection of cooked breakfasts as well as the standard continental choices. The bed was so comfortable, the room was well heated with large radiators but has air con for the summer. The bar was very popular and had live music on Saturday night. I will be back !

Went to bishop's gate hotel for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday. Have to say we couldn't find fault from the second we walked in to the hotel. Beautiful foyer, homely and not over the top. We were shown to our seat in the restaurant immediately and every member of staff were brilliant, friendly, attentive without interruption. The menu was brilliant, especially for myself being a vegetarian, there was so many beautiful things to pick from. All of us really enjoyed our food, every plate was cleared. Restaurants decor was very warm and cosy. Can't say enough good about here and just wanted to say thank you for making my friends birthday just perfect

We came here for lunch as part of our Anniversary trip. We had food off the Sunday lunch menu. Everything was delicious, good quality… nicely presented. The atmosphere was lovely… and very well priced for 3 courses each.

Was attending the wedding of my husbands cousin, the service was amazing 👏, the wedding fare was delicious and more-some. I had the stuffed chicken, 😋 beautiful supreme and full of flavour. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the wedding and also for Christmas 🎄. We would love to return for a weekend stay and dinner. Would highly recommend.

Great hotel and amazing staff, the staff couldn't of been anymore helpful and lovely. Had a meal I the restaurant and I can't fault it, the steak was amazing. The rooms were lovely and it's in an ideal location for doing things. Can't single out 1 staff member as everyone we dealt with gave exceptional service.

Myself, my wife and 2 friends booked a table here before attending a show in the Forum. We booked the table for 6pm with the show starting at 8pm so we thought we had plenty of time for eating. Placed our drinks, starter and main course orders fairly quickly and all was going well up to this point. However we had a wait of almost half an hour for our starters to arrive. Then it was almost another half an hour after eating these before our main courses arrived, ie 7pm. We now knew we might be pushing it for desserts but by this time it was 7.20 so we thought desserts can't take long so we ordered them anyway. We said to the waitress that we were in a bit of a rush for the show and asked her what she would recommend. She advised us not to take certain dishes as these would be made up fresh and would take about 15 minutes. We took her advice and ordered something "handy" plus a cocktail. By 7.45 nothing had arrived so I called a male member of staff in a suit and asked about our desserts and the cocktail. He said he would check it out but as it was now 7.45 we had no time to eat them so told him to forget it. When we further complained when paying the bill he made a couple of excuses and just cut me off by saying "good evening". And this only a week after blowing their trumpet about winning a "best hotel" award???? Apart from this the waiting staff who took our orders were friendly and helpful and the food was fine.

What a wonderful hotel, the room was lovely but the massive positive is your friendly knowledgeable staff. For the initial welcome at booking in until leaving the hotel the standard of service was excellent. A special word of thanks to Emma, we walked over the Peace Bridge and it took a lot longer than anticipated as there were so many people chatting. On arrival back in the bar the food service had stopped but Emma sorted us some fantastic sandwiches, chips and desserts, nothing was a problem to her, she is a little star !! Will definitely recommend Bishop's Gate Hotel to our friends & family as the place to stay in when visiting Derry.

Clean and charming hotel. Loved our room and proximity to everything in Derry. Quick walk to everything and convenient! Icing on the cake is that Michael, Robyn and the staff go above and beyond in service, kindness and courtesy. Highly recommend. Thank you Bishop Gate Hotel staff for a great stay in your lovely city.

We dined 1st Aug as a party of x9 in the Gown Restaurant. Service was excellent and food was amazing. Every dish from starters, mains & desserts were flawless. Not a single complaint from our group. Friendly staff, lovely setting and very reasonable prices for the quality and standard of food. Can't wait to come back! Great Job to the whole team! (side note: we didn't stay in the hotel accommodation)

Dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Staff are so lovely - friendly and welcoming. We had a balcony attached to our room which was lovely and was unexpected. Room however was very warm and unfortunately there was no window to open so it felt too hot and stuffy and we couldn't leave the balcony door open. Overall though would highly recommend Bishop's Gate hotel. Thanks to all the wonderful staff who looked after us
