Loved to see free Derry Corner and show my children so they could learn the history of what their family had to live through, very well kept. And very serene and peaceful

Did a self guided walk through the Bogside, where The Troubles all began. As a Brit walking through staunch Republican territory, I decided not to pop into the Bogside Inn for a pint! No need for further commentary from me, other than it's important to see & recognise both sides of the story - it's all in the history books. Read them before visiting to get more out of your visit.

An absolute must visit if in Derry (Londonderry). This is a very real part of the city, its history, its current state. There's tributes. There's the artwork. And there's a feel of what this community have felt in the past, present and hopes for their future.

What a great piece of history that shows the struggles and defiance of the local people to the imperial regime that they bravely withstood. Lovely to see the people of Derry showing solidarity with the people of Palestine who's struggles they know keenly

The museum is a memorial, is small, but full of a great human history, a tragedy of the years where civil rights were fought. It is meant to be a moment of reflection on the past and an example for the future. If you visit the country make a stop here, it is located in the neighborhood where Bloody Sunday took place. Walk around the houses to admire the murales and then go to see the council chamber where the trial took place in 1998.

As a 12 year old and living in the south during the troubles, it gave valuable and new perspectives, & the similarities with the #JFS48 in fighting for Civil rights. Ps do the walking tour.

Was on my must visit spot after seeing Derry girls on Netflix!! 😉 Its a free standing wall in a traffic verge almost always has good messages and wall art in the buildings around, was a quiet place when we stopped over while in transit through Derry. Must visit if you're in letterkenny it's close by.

A must-visit for all who want to learn significant Irish history. It can be very crowded with tourists and school groups so parking can be difficult, but if visiting from out of town it's not a far walk from anywhere in Derry. We visited on our own and found it easy to navigate the murals and history, but the city offers many different tour options for those who'd like a guide. Was quite emotional to read and feel the history in the atmosphere.

If you know a little about the history of Free Derry then your visit here will all make sense. If you don't, read up a little to get the best out of it. Maybe go visit the Free Derry museum which is only a short walk away.

Did a walking tour of the Derry girls, to see the locations that were used during filming and part of the tour was a bit of a history of Derry city itself . So we happen to stop at the free Derry sign. If you like history it's worth getting a tour that does the history of Derry. But if you ain't interested you can still walk around and see these Murals by yourself. I suppose Free Derry would be iconic Mural that most ppl would know about.

Saw this from on a day out with my Mum while staying in Omagh, Some History about Derry during Northern Ireland's Troubles and the Free Derry Wall is a Tragic and Poignant past to Londonderry, But for the Catholic Community its simply called Derry. Watch out during July during the Orange Marches as it is a Dangerous time.

It's a historical piece of land of resistance and struggle for freedom. It's a must see if you are visiting Northern Ireland. Being from India and we were also freed from oppression such landmarks are always reminds you the struggle and sufferings of the people who gained us the freedom we enjoy. The Easter Lily was added to Free Derry corner in 2016, to mark the centenary of the 1916 rising, and also to remember all those who have given their lives in pursuit of the establishment of a 32 county democratic socialist Republic. It was constructed by a number of Republican groups ,who came together to mark the event. It was unveiled by long time Republican activist Paddy Browne on behalf of Irish Republican ex prisoners and combatants. Other groups involved in the monuments construction are as follows. IRSP.,RNU.THE 1916 Society's.

Derry, Northern Ireland, is full of history and the Free Derry Corner is part of this. It's a landmark in Bogside neighborhood that basically means you are entering in the nationalist area of Derry. It's a strong experience being in a place had been the scene of territorial and religious conflicts til nowadays.
