The iconic Derry Peace Bridge was opened in 2011 and curves 235 metres long. It's a foot bridge and cycle path that crosses the River Foyle, connecting Guild Hall Square on the city side to Ebrington Square and St Columb's Park on the other side. It also links into walks along both sides of the river front.

Lovely bridge. Have walked across it many times and plan to walk it many more! There's a cycling lane too, and the bridge is nice and wide so can easily accommodate this. There are also two large benches on the bridge.

Wonderful bridge, lovely scale and flow reflecting the character of the river and some nice engineering variety introduced. Well worth visiting and easy to enjoy whilst exploring other parts of the city - both sides of the river. πŸ‘

Beautiful walk roughly 1 mile from sainsburys carpark. If you want to go further head out to the old railway line or over the Peace Bridge and get a wonderful view of Derry city

The Peace Bridge is a cycle and foot connect across the River Foyle in Derry, Northern Ireland. It opened on 25 June 2011, interfacing Ebrington Square with the remainder of the downtown area. It is the most up to date of three extensions in the city, the others being the Craigavon Bridge and the Foyle Bridge. The 235 meters (771 ft) connect was planned by AECOM, who likewise planned the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, and Wilkinson Eyre Architects, who additionally planned the Gateshead Millennium Bridge. A perspective on the Peace Bridge showing the two sides of the stream and a passing train The extension was opened to general society by EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn; joined by the First and representative First Ministers, Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness; and the Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny. It is planned to further develop relations between the to a great extent unionist 'Waterside' on the east manage an account with the to a great extent patriot 'Cityside' on the west bank, by further developing access between these spaces, as a component of more extensive recovery plans. The scaffold additionally gives a getting over the railroad line moving toward Waterside station. The asymetrical connect, which is 235 m (770 ft) long and 4 m (13 ft) meter wide, is upheld by two slanting columns and represents a meeting up of the two networks. Its bended pathway, track and cycleway connect the Guildhall, in the focal point of the city, with Ebrington Square in the Waterside region, and St. Columb's Park.

Peace is precious, and at times precarious, in Northern Ireland - this beautiful bridge is a sign of hope and connection of both 'sides' of our community. The view is pretty special at night too!

Love the Peace Bridge, it's a lovely, useful feature in our beautiful city. We like to walk over it and along the quay by the Foyle with our dogs🐾

The peace bridge is just that peaceful. I sat on a bench in the middle just listening to the sound of the waves and looking at the beautiful view. The bridge leads to the protestant side which to be honest has almost nothing to do.

A beautiful bridge for a walk and to take in the scenery. In my opinion it should have been called The John Hume Bridge because of his role in the Peace Process.

Iconic staple in the Derry skyline. Beautiful walk across the River Foyle, especially nice in the morning when it is quieter.

Very unique bridge that was built with The EU Commission. From the Walled side, the bridge looks like a V. The most interesting thing about the bridge is that it leads to a British fort. Regardless, it is a beautiful bridge.

Lovely footbridge across the river Foyle, connecting up walks on either side of the river. Leads you over from the Guildhall on the city side to Ebrington Square on the waterside, where there are places to eat and drink, or you could head on through to St Columbs Park for a walk, swim, tennis, etc
