For decent fare, skip quickway and endulge in a quaint Ramen sushi joint a quick zip from the Clarksburg outlets. They have fried soft shell crab! And other standard inflation fighters without the crowd. Then hit up the wine store next door and grab some liquor for wino's sake!

This is an OK restaurant; I wouldn't say it is a great one. Firstly, it says it's a Japanese restaurant on one side of its signpost, and on the other, it says it's also a Thai restaurant. Personally, I'm not a fan of mixed Asian-themed restaurants, but the Thai place down the street wasn't allowing in-house dining, so a friend and I tried Zane. She went for Sushi Rolls (they don't serve Nigiri or Sashimi--at least I didn't see it on the lunch menu) and a Tofu appetizer. I went for the Japanese Spring Rolls and the Unagi Don eel+rice dish with Miso Soup. The two appetizers were--in my honest opinion--best for people who have no other access to better quality restaurants, let alone Japanese or Thai restaurants. That sounds harsh, but the spring rolls were hot without much else in the way of flavor. The tofu was dry and the Sweet and Sour sauce served with it was a bit of an insult: it tasted of (and had the consistency of) water with rationed sweet and sour sauce. The sushi rolls my friend ordered were about as tasty as the kind you'd find in a grocery store nearby: not bad, mind you, but not quality sushi. As mentioned above, the menu did not offer Nigiri or Sashimi, only rolls. The Eel Dish (Unagi Don) was tasty and satisfying...when I still had eel left in my large bowl of rice. I felt it would have been a wonderful dish, had the eel-to-rice ratio been more equal or balanced. The flavors were good, but I finished my eel way too early and was left eating only a bowl of rice for the rest of my meal (don't let the photo fool you, the bowl was pretty deep and filled with white rice). At about $15 for it, I couldn't recommend it. The Miso Soup was forgotten about until the end of the meal when I had to remind the waiter. The place was busy, I understood. Upon reception, however, I wasn't surprised to find that the soup was, though perfectly edible, lacking in flavor. Regarding the establishment itself: the space was roomy enough to accommodate several family-sized tables. No one wore masks, naturally, as people need to eat. One of the bathrooms was out of order, but the working one was decently maintained. Service was OK. Our waiter was respectful, but was handling pretty much the entire floor that day and was busy and forgetful. Not a big deal we understood that. The food, however, was overall mediocre at best. 3/5 stars from me.

8/26/2023: a nice sushi and ramen shop in Germantown with a mind for nicer decor. The chashu miso ramen was pretty good for America. We had 4 basic sushi rolls that I rate in the 7-8/10 range. We plan on returning and trying some of the premium rolls next time.

Germantown has a gem in its midst. We were a large group on 12 and the waitress was amazing and helpful. We were looking at the vegetarian options as we only eat Halal meat, but the waitress mentioned that the owner started buying halal chicken so all staff can partake and eat. It was madness after that as we went crazy ordering all the chicken items. We ordered The Chicken Teriyaki Bento box Volcano Sushi Chicken Katsu Donburi Tom Kha Soup All of the food was great and we loved it. Highly recommended as this is a rare Japanese restaurant with halal food options. Go eat!

Great vegan options including sushi rolls, maki rolls, edamame, salad and veggie bento box. Confirmed with staff that the tempura does not contain eggs or milk. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere in the restaraunt was nice and quiet. Prices are excellent

Food is tasty. But ramen portions are small. They really skimp on the chashu

If you’re looking for a place with fresh and authentic foods I would recommend Kin Japanese and Thai. I was told by the young manager that they flew in a real Thai chef! My favorite dish is a the Pad Ka Pow with chicken and a side of miso soup!!
