This is the first place we went to for my first meal here in the US. The serving is huge than where I came from and the people are also very welcoming. Good place, good Mexican food!

I must admit; it was nice, the place was clean including the bathrooms, and the food was fresh. The staff were also helpful as well as kind to both my Beautiful wife and myself. We had gone to Cafe Rio right after a doctors appointment with our phenomenal acupuncturist Dr. Li. It made for a perfect couples evening of acupuncture and massage and then dinner on a more than average warm January night. My lovely wife loves Cafe Rio to the point of thinking about it enough to go to the restaurant at least once every couple of months because she says how much she loves the bread used in the dishes at Cafe Rio. I had the chili beef Tacos and she enjoyed the steak salad. My Wonderful wife also enjoyed a cinnamon flavored drink provided at Cafe Rio and I must admit; the cinnamon flavored beverage was nice. In conclusion; yes we Will definitely be back🤗.

Be prepared to WAIT a long time for food. Placed an $100 order ahead of time. Food was suppose to be ready at 11:50 am order was placed at 10:06 am. Got there at 11:35. They haven’t started my order yet, there is two people working the order line with 15 people in line waiting to order food. No one is in the back kitchen. 4 employees are sitting eating lunch while the lunch line forms. I watched for 10 mins as the employees finished eating and then went back into the kitchen. Person I spoke to was rude and said the order wasn’t ready and didn’t give a time estimate either. Order was picked up 15 mins after ready time. Got a free soda for the wait. Update. Move it up to 3 stars as the salad I ordered was decent. Lots of food for the prices.

If your gonna order through the app don't. There's nowhere on there to leave feedback so I'm here. I got there 10 min after I placed my order and not only it wasn't ready they took care of every person waiting in line then after they were standing around with nothing to do I asked for my food and they said o were sorry. Skip the app wait in line Jesus. Food was good hence the 3 and not 0. No quality issues just customer service problems.

Craving good food? Come here! Craving bad service? Come here! Food was good, different than chipotle and other similar Mexican food places. The service was horrible, except for the cashier who was nice and catered with a smile. The ones prepared our food acted like complete bees. Very rude, and seemed frustrated with their jobs. The least that you can do in service business is serve nicely. I hope one day they get the concept of good service. I usually tip 20% or above, but proudly tipped zero based on the level of the experience.

Under cooked rice, skimp on the meat, twice the price of Chipotle. Try Jasmine's in the Airpark

This is Mexican fast food at its finest! It didn't taste like fast food. We all got the salads. All were made with handmade and warmed tortillas in the base. Mine was the vegetarian with bean. The others got the shredded beef. I ordered both Pinto and black beans. The lettuce was excellent, fresh, crispy, perfectly chopped romaine. We all had the works, including rice, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, Pico de Gallo, more, etc. The dressings were a creamy tomato or creamy Verde. They let us order both. Both were SO GOOD. we had to ask for salsa. None if it was extra. The shredded beef eaters said theirs was slightly too salty, but both were impressed with the quality of the beef. It was lean and tasty, not fatty or greasy. We will definitely Italy go here on our next trip to DC. It's so convenient. Less than 5 minutes from the highway!

I prefer the Germantown Cafe Rio the whole staff is friendly Laura Lewis and Dennis were absolutely amazing.... Store manager is awesome very personable

This place is so good but they just really cannot get it together with their delivery orders. I have ordered from them several times from postmates over the last few years. Every single time I request no cheese on the tortilla and no cheese on top. There are literally options to not have those two ingredients. Every single time I have both cheese on top or cheese on a tortilla. This time I got cheese on top. I also requested double rice and no beans. I got a normal amount of rice and I got beans.

I just noticed that I have never left a review on Google for this restaurant. Over the past few years, I order here around once a month. I usually order through the App, sometimes in person. The location is well maintained. The kitchen and dining areas are kept clean. Occasionally, the associates are so busy keeping up with orders that they forget to restock the self serve area, especially allowing napkins to run out. I am glad to see hot sauce bottles are available again, would just like to see the variety return. I definitely miss the free cinnamon mints. To the food. Overall, everything is fresh looking and tasting. I always enjoy my entrees here. I have pretty much ordered everything they offer over the years, from this location. Occasionally my online order is slightly off. Sometimes an extra free ingredient is missing. Recently, my online order was not processed. After waiting 15 minutes, and being offered two different peoples online orders, the cashier looked my order up. She then personally made sure my order was made. I love their loyalty program.

Food is delicious here, but why is there never steak? My daughter came by at 7 pm on a Sunday to get a steak salad and there wasn’t any. The lady behind her left because she wanted a steak salad too. This is a constant issue with this location.

My favorite fast food Mexican place. The only complaint I have is I wish they were consistent and got orders right more often. But the food is great and we go back there all the time!

The taco dish/platter I ordered was tasteless and very messy with a lot of liquid/juices from the meat to added condiments..... and soggy. Unfortunately, i WOULDN'T recommend that particular meal.

Great food and a friendly staff. The tables when we were there could have used a good scrub down. It's hard to tell how dirty they are because of the splattered paint finish they have.

Cafe Rio is the best! I love the employees expcially here at the Germantown location! The food is fresh, warm, and very flavorful! I get a lot of food for what I pay for and I always leave stuffed!

Went in for a tostada and they didn't have the tostada. I asked for a free drink to compensate me or a % off the meal. The answer was no. If you won't give your customer a discount when the meal is incomplete, then you should stay on top of your purchase orders/supplies so that you have everything to make the meal right.

Great experience for my first time trip. The shredded chicken tastes great, just so liquidy it made my food soupy. The way to go next time is order a bowl and a side of chips. Worth a trip back.

It was alright. Food wasnt as good as Frederick site. Wait was a lot longer too. Food was not made well. Taco Tuesday was a bust. Too much sauce made taco mushy and cold. I'll try burrito next time. People were nice just. Service was slow for no reason. Ingredients were still very fresh though. See pics just too much

Excellent taste! Great value for the buck. The pork is one of my favorite choices. I’ve has it in a variety of ways such as a salad, burrito, and enchiladas.

The tortillas are just something else here. They make everything so much tastier! I love that they're always fresh and delicious. It's definitely not your regular old Chipotle or anything like that.

Amazing food every time we come. It's my family's favorite place to eat. Everytime we find ourselves in MD this is a must go to spot for lunch.

First time eating at Cafe Rio, have to say it’s nothing special same as Chipotle only worse have to pay extra for grilled chicken and other things that come free at Chipotle. The shredded meat was too chewy, rice was dry and black beans tasted like they were from a can.

Love Cafe Rio for over 2 decades now. BUT this location’s manager needs to invest a bit more attention. Tables were all dirty or sticky. No napkins stocked, no water cups available (cafe rio should be the healthy option). Covid is over, stop using it as an excuse to not stock hot sauce, this is part of your identity. Unlocking only one of two swing doors in a restaurant just tells me someone was too lazy to open the second for 6 inches away. Please turn on your lights during the day in the dining area, it looks lonely and closed. Won’t be coming back to this Cafe Rio, too many better options living up to the name are available.

We hit them at peak lunch time.. Crew was in a hurry. Effected the food delivery. Also, the mild sauce is truly lackluster when it comes to flavor. Start with Medium sauce for taste and just a bit of heat. We will return and try a different meal option.
