Rude staff, no updates on pet (I had to call for any news), egotistical. No one communicates with each other. They're only in business because there aren't many other vets in the area. Sad that this is the only clinic. Lost my pet here. I hope the staff here feels guilt and betters themselves, because they are costing pet owners their family member's lives. The CVCA is part of the Veterinary Referral Associates clinic.

My experience at CVCA, cardiac care for Pets was excellent. From check-in to check-out everyone was considerate and caring. My pup got a very thorough examination, and I felt that he was truly well cared for. I was present during his EKG and echocardiogram and observed how loving both the doctor and the veterinary technician were with him. I highly recommend see CVCA if you’re in need of cardiac care for your dog!

These good folks did a lot to save my cat's life recently. Amun Ra was a sick boy when he was admitted to the hospital. I was apprehensive when we returned for his cardiac follow-up because our earlier follow-up in the internal medicine department was less than stellar. There, the emphasis was to whisk Amun Ra away to be examined and have blood drawn elsewhere. I do not find this acceptable, so I made it clear when scheduling Ra with cardiology that I expected to stay with him throughout his visit. Dr. Cain and his nurse (and I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name) could not have been nicer to me or kinder to Ra. Bedside manner matters with cats as well as with humans, and these folks nailed it. I am very pleased with the quality of care and the consideration of Ra's and my emotional needs as well.

Thankful for Dr Kain's thoroughness with the diagnosis and sense of urgency once he got to the root cause! He made sure we had a temporary Rx locally to quickly to manage the issue while we waited through the weekend to have extended release processed by the recommended pharmacy. Sarah listened, was compassionate and ensured our needs were addressed. She took great care of our old lady. Excellent experience!

Prompt, friendly service from all staff that I interacted with. Detailed and clear evaluation report regarding findings from examination of our dog who was experiencing heart related issues. Top notch doctors and smooth coordination and communication with other vet staff that our dog was seen by. Thank you for taking such good care of us and of our dog!

Dr. Cain is always very thorough and assesses my dog's entire health and history, taking into account non-cardiac illness and looking at the patient as a whole, instead of just focusing on her heart disease. Friendly, compassionate, and thorough - he is the best!

The CVCA Cardiac staff and doctors are amazing! We brought our dog in due to a heart murmur being detected. From start to finish, Rosa was examined thoroughly and gently while all tests were explained and questions answered! Highly recommend!!

Dr. Cain and the staff are wonderful. They explain what they are going to do with Luna prior to the test. The staff and doctor handle her so she is comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Cain answers my questions and explains things so that I understand.

Our third visit to CVCA for our dog’s regular cardiac assessment & we experienced a much more personalized level of care now that pandemic safety measures have ended. Both of us were now allowed to wait inside with our dog, which helped calm our very excitable dog (he was already on a sedative to help calm him). On previous visits, only one person was allowed into the waiting & treatment area—so this experience was much better! The staff was very kind, caring & friendly, and I appreciated being able to speak with the doctor along w/ my partner after the evaluation. Thank you!

Dr Cain and all of the staff at CVCA Gaithersburg have been so kind and gentle with both of the cats we've taken. Dr. Cain takes time to explain the conditions in details and options for treatment. He has a strong desire to maintain quality of life for our pets while they are ill. They have provided excellent care both in the case of long term heart disease as well as sudden life threatening conditions. Through their care both cats have continued to live happy comfortable lives for much longer than we expected. I will continue to take my pets there, and any future pets that develop cardiac problems, for as long as I live in the area.

This was my second visit. Dr Cain and Morgan took excellent care of my elderly dog. Dr Cain asked many questions about Josie in order to get a thorough picture of her health and personality.
