I went to this beach several times. In the morning for light sport, fresh air, enjoy the beauty of the old buildings and the busy-lazy activities all around the beach in the morning, in the evening to watch the sun as it goes down to the horizon and of course the various culinary delights around the old city area. One of my favorite culinary is nasi kuning (tumeric rice) Ampenan. Best nasi kuning in mataram. 👍 Even though I've enjoyed my times there, i really think that the beach needs to cleaned up, tidied up n better laid up, but i guess it'll up to the local government to make it happen.

Very crowded beach. Even more crowded during weekend. Local tourist like to hangout here because there were many various foods (seafood, satay, etc) many various drinks too (coconut, etc). Local tourist like to enjoy sunset with their family and friends here. There were playground for children too. I enjoy satay for 25k, coconut drink 15k.

Good place to catch a good sunset, very crowded. Great place to play with your children, it has a playground but you need to pay for it. Lots of food seller. Easy to get from the city center.

Just only few minutes in this beach. Im not interest for the situation and nothing can do in here. Just full of local tourist. It sells so many local food but not want to try it. I thinks most people come here to enjoy sunset. U can try to come about 5.30pm. If u come before that so u will be boring and feels very hot.

Went there few time to have our favourite “ikan bakar with pelecing” and also my all time favourite “jagung bakar” with sweet and spicy sauce.. also a nice place to watch sunset while having your “kopi hitam”.. nice memories. The place is for local to gather to spend the evening and relaxing. Playing, walking by the beach or sit to watch the sun set. Not so spectacular but we really love the place. There are place for children to play, kolam pancing. So many food and snack to choose from. Grilled Sweetcorn, dougnat, pastel etc. Urap, pelecing, sate seafood and sate baduk/usus and many kind seafood to choose from. Many stall to sit. Away from the beach where we are safe from the wind or just by the beach...you can get the splash from the wave . The sunset here is pretty. One of the reason to come. There is nice clean mushalla to pray if you want to stay longer but do not want to miss magrib. Ampenan Beach is used to be a seaport before it moves to Lembar. You can see the remnants of the pier in the near distance. You will pass china town on the way

Ampenan beach is wonderful to enjoy the sunset and also because they offer a lot of food for people to enjoy eating. come here until night because the vibes here is amazing parking fee: Rp2.000 food varies from Rp5.000 - Rp30.000

Come in the evening for sunset diner. Its cheap with various food option. In the afternoon the beach is just average.

Good spot for local tourism and also for seafood lover here in mataram. The sunset here is also stunning. Maybe they can improve the cleanliness of this place... The trash and the beach doesn't fit well.

Despite its beautiful scenery, this place still needs to be organised. The surroundings are so shabby. The vendors are quite neat, but the bridges are all old and shabby.

My son experienced severe cold from contaminated food after eat from local stand in this area. Definitely not worth to visit, despite the scenery, locals including the sea food seller were giving bad vibes. We're also received bad treatment only for sitting and buying mineral water. I cant recall whats wrong but, dont go there. Im deeply regret the decision of including the destination in my itinerary.
