We couldn't have asked for a more entertaining or interesting tour. Because our guide was working only for tips, she was so responsive to our group and took us to all kinds of places for unique views and unique stories of the city. Finding out the people on our night time tour had an interest in the darker side of things, she told us all kinds of stories about rebellion and torture in medieval Ghent. She was incredibly informed about her city's history, and cheerfully kept going until we were ready to stop, when she pointed us to the most energetic places to go grab a drink after the tour was over. We learned so much about this city and found so many beautiful places we never would have on our own. I couldn't believe this was free, but of course we tipped very heavily at the end because it was worth every bit!

We did the 2 hour tour with Sara today who was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and taught us lots about the history of Gent We highly recommend her. However don’t follow her coffee recommendation or you’ll end up with almond or soy milk 😁

However having visited Ghent several times before, I found the eating/drinking recommendations sponsored and not authentic. The guide recommended a place for fries stating they were the 'best in the city'. We had already been there a night before and the fries were so bad that we ended up throwing them away (like most other diners).

Our amazing guide Sophia taught us so much, was very funny and engaging, and left us with many great insider tips and recommendations about what to do and where to eat for our 3 days here.
