I've
been
eating
at
Baan
Thai
for
a
long
time
and
really
didn't
want
to
write
a
negative
review
because
I
have
always
loved
it
very
much.
The
owner
is
wonderful
and
kind,
and
the
food
was
always
delicious,
fresh
and
hot...but
the
quality
and
atmosphere
of
the
restaurant
has
just
gone
down
so
much.
Baan
used
to
be
located
in
a
charming
little
building
in
downtown,
a
renovated
old
house
made
into
a
cute
restaurant
space.
There
was
an
amazing
buffet
with
a
wide
selection
of
foods
and
the
restaurant
was
always
busy.
Unfortunately,
Baan
moved
to
a
new
location
awhile
back.
The
new
space
is
considerably
less
charming,
in
a
very
plain
strip
building
that
seems
otherwise
unoccupied.
Signage
is
so
sparse
I
could
not
find
the
restaurant
for
months.
When
we
finally
did
find
it,
we
ordered
to
go
for
pickup,
and
the
experience
was
very
lacking,
with
food
being
less
flavorful
than
it
used
to
be
and
service
very
slow.
Recently
I
gave
the
new
space
another
try
for
lunch
and
at
11:30,
my
companion
and
I
were
the
only
two
people
inside.
It
was
completely
empty.
The
buffet
has
been
removed,
and
a
lot
of
the
foods
that
were
on
it
are
no
longer
on
the
menu.
I
am
low
carb/keto,
so
I
wasn't
able
to
build
a
fulfilling
meal
for
myself
without
more
options.
The
drink
machine
was
broken,
so
there
were
limited
drink
options
as
well.
While
service
we
received
was
very
good
and
I
wish
only
good
things
for
the
people
and
business
here,
we
both
agreed
that
unfortunately
it
was
probably
our
last
trip
here
unless
things
improved
considerably.
I
am
sure
that
Covid
and
other
factors
have
influenced
some
of
the
deterioration,
but
I
really
hope
the
owner
can
seek
some
professional
restaurant
advice
that
can
bring
this
beloved
Covington
gem
back
to
its
former
glory.
The
food
and
atmosphere
here
was
wonderful
once,
and
it
can
be
again.
