I don't have enough words to express how great the food it's at the restaurant! We were driving back from orange beach and looking for a place to stop and have lunch, even tho is not close to the freeway I'm so happy we took the time to drive to this restaurant! The owner is so kind and very helpful. There were 9 of us and a baby and our food came fast and our drinks got refilled quickly. Everyone ordered something different and we all ended up sharing from each other's plate because everything was so good! This place will be a favorite from now on! Give them a try you will not regret it ☺️

Baan Thai has moved from their old location to down the street at 501 N Theard St! Their quality has not changed, though. If you want some delicious authentic Thai food in Covington — this is your place! It is a family run establishment with the sweetest owner. Definitely stop by this hidden gem. You will not be disappointed!

I loved my dinning experience at Baan Thai of Covington. The waitress received us with a smile. They let us seat outside on the porch. The green veggie curry was amazing!! The Tom Yum soup was the best I've had. The shrimp were tender cooked just right and huge. The purple onions were fresh. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Thai food at a great price.

Absolutely delicious! Loved the spring rolls, pad thai, fried rice, and, of course, Thai tea!

Curry was runny, wouldn't let us substitute fried rice for white. Had a bad experience the last few times with them. A/c was broke, cannot get spices consistent, over cooked chicken was gross etc. The employees are rude and act like they are doing you a big favor when you come in there. Try to make you look stupid if you ask a question. It's only Becky and the young man that is rude. The older lady is super sweet.

Got takeout last night. Ordered the cashew dish. The sauce was like soup. There was not ONE cashew in the whole dish. Menu said this dish is slightly spicy, there was zero spice to this dish. No wonder I was the only one in the restaurant when I walked in at dinner time.

We had the beef salad which was delicious but a little spicy. The ginger stir fry which was awesome. And the pad thai that I always have a hard time finding a good one and this one was great. We were on our way to a different restaurant and it was closed so we googled this one. I was a little underwhelmed because the setting is humble but the food was excellent and will be coming more often.

This is by far the very best Thai food I have eaten! Very,very authentic and generous proportions. Service is great . They really care about their food, presentation and customer satisfaction! If you enjoy authentic Thai food you can not go wrong here! The Larb is my favorite, but other dishes are excellent too. And the prices are comparable to every other restaurant in town. LOVE this place and I highly recommend!

Our favorite Thai restaurant on the northshore! The dishes are authentic and we love that it is family owned and operated. We typically opt for the chicken pad thai and the pineapple fried rice.

We came here for lunch. We ordered the fried spring rolls and soft spring rolls with tofu for appetizers. The fried rolls came with a sweet/spicy sauce and the soft rolls came with a peanut sauce as well as a sweet sauce. Both appetizers were good. For entrees, we had yellow curry, drunken noodle, and ginger/veggie tofu. The former two dishes were enjoyable, however the ginger dish was 10/10 great! I got it medium spicy, which was actually pretty spicy, but not absurdly so. Overall, the food was great. The flavors were right on target, and the food seemed freshly prepared. The restaurant is pretty low-key, so you might pass it without noticing. Give it a try!

Our first time here today! Found this place on Google. First of all the service was great! We felt "at home" while dining here. The server was really nice and accommodating, she always check on us if we're doing fine and if we need anything. We ordered Chicken Massaman Curry and it was great, it came with jasmine rice. Papaya Salad was great too, you can choose the spice level for it as well. Pad Thai was great. Our son enjoyed the Chicken satay with the plain noodles. Thai tea's sweetness was just right and it was refreshing. Mango sticky rice for dessert was just perfect! After our meal the cook came to our table and conversed with us, really great people and food is highly recommend! Will surely come back soon!

Not good. No flavor. Noodles were mushy beef was extremely dry. Calimari was way too big and couldn’t be chewed.

I've been eating at Baan Thai for a long time and really didn't want to write a negative review because I have always loved it very much. The owner is wonderful and kind, and the food was always delicious, fresh and hot...but the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant has just gone down so much. Baan used to be located in a charming little building in downtown, a renovated old house made into a cute restaurant space. There was an amazing buffet with a wide selection of foods and the restaurant was always busy. Unfortunately, Baan moved to a new location awhile back. The new space is considerably less charming, in a very plain strip building that seems otherwise unoccupied. Signage is so sparse I could not find the restaurant for months. When we finally did find it, we ordered to go for pickup, and the experience was very lacking, with food being less flavorful than it used to be and service very slow. Recently I gave the new space another try for lunch and at 11:30, my companion and I were the only two people inside. It was completely empty. The buffet has been removed, and a lot of the foods that were on it are no longer on the menu. I am low carb/keto, so I wasn't able to build a fulfilling meal for myself without more options. The drink machine was broken, so there were limited drink options as well. While service we received was very good and I wish only good things for the people and business here, we both agreed that unfortunately it was probably our last trip here unless things improved considerably. I am sure that Covid and other factors have influenced some of the deterioration, but I really hope the owner can seek some professional restaurant advice that can bring this beloved Covington gem back to its former glory. The food and atmosphere here was wonderful once, and it can be again.

Amazing food, sweet owner! The toast was delicious! The yellow curry and the noodles (forgot the name) were delicious. The noodles were the stir fried flat rice noodles with veggies. Delicious! Our new Thai spot

On a recent Sunday evening around 6pm our party of 8 each ordered a different dish and we were all very pleased with the dishes. Four of us are vegetarian and ordered tofu dishes; the others ordered pork or chicken. My husband and I live in the Atlanta and have eaten at several Thai restaurants there but we agreed these were the best Thai dishes we've eaten in many years. Highly recommended.
